Hi .. special event in 3 weeks! My legs are so pale. What do you recommend?

Fake tan a day or 2 beforehand.

youngestisapsycho · Today 07:41

You can get leg make up. My friend uses one by the brand This works… it’s a bit pricey tho

schnauzerfest · Today 07:41

Do you mean a spray tan?

No. Just any old fake tan. They’re all pretty much the same.

I recommend you do nothing. You are a pale human so you have pale legs. There is nothing wrong with pale legs.

I agree with this. Your skin tone is not a flaw to be fixed by spending money.
However, if you're going ahead and doing your own fake tan, practice first a few times to see how it comes out and if you like it (or as in my experience, it looks worse than not doing it all all).

My tip is to just get some of that body moisturiser which includes a hint of colour for your body. Dove, gariner etc do them….each year I just slowly build up towards summer with my legs…it also feels less fake than fake tan …do more than just your legs so you are even….

This. It’s subtle and not much effort!

Vita Liberata body blur in the palest shade makes me look like I have a beautiful sun kissed tan! Sally Hansen leg spray is not bad either and is cheaper.

I mean, you’re not wrong, but this is the Style & Beauty board so it’s not an unreasonable thing to ask…

Fake tan is less stylish than pale legs so 🤷‍♀️

True, but it can also be a place where we encourage each other not to think of ourselves as a collection of flaws to be fixed.

This. Pale skin that has not been damaged by the sun (which is what a tan is) is very beautiful. Be pale and proud, and use lots of sunblock to keep it that way.

Agree. I have very pale legs but couldn't care less.
I think I look so much better with them than with fake tan that obviously looks fake. Plus, I save money and protect the health of my skin.

PrueRamsay · Today 08:35

It takes three minutes, not three weeks.

Dove gradual tan. Medium/dark. Sorted.

CharlotteStreetW1 · Today 08:41

Sally Hansen Airbush Legs. It's literally make up for legs. Easy to apply and easy to wash off (and won't stain your sheets).

My legs don't tan and I'm fine with that but if I'm wearing say a navy dress in summer, it takes the edge off the sharp contrast between dark fabric and bright white legs.

And there's nothing wrong with wanting to optimise our appearance or we'd be wearing sackcloth wouldn't we?

donthowlbenjy · Today 09:03

Gradual tan. It’s like normal body moisturiser but with small amounts of fake tan. Use it for one day, if no change, use it again and then again if you need to. I like Gatineau brand, it’s £££ but a really nice lotion on my super dry skin. Loads of other brands do it.

Blanketyblank04 · Today 09:12

Another vote for Vita Liberata body make up - I use the light shade. I am fair-skinned and I find that I am different shades all over depending on the bits that are exposed to the elements and my legs are luminous white 🤣

But from a style and beauty viewpoint no tan is still an answer. I think fake tan looks awful, particularly if arms and face are a different colour.

Lakesfun · Today 09:17

Palmers Cocoa Butter gradual tan. Put a bit of ordinary moistiroser on the dry bits, knees and heels before you start to prevent patchiness. For my pale skin 1-2 days is enough to take the edge off pasty, without looking overdone or fake.

sontamol · Today 09:17

Sally Hansen applied with a big fat brush. Leave it to dry for a bit, and good to go.

Cioccoholic · Today 09:18

@oliviaAustin well that’s just destroyed the entire fashion, hair and beauty industry!

Pale skin is a flaw in my case - I have almost complete vitiligo and I really enjoy being able to make my skin look a little less “vampire”.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · Today 09:19

In the war, we used Bisto powder.

You would be surrounded by dogs though...

I think of Sally Hansen as spray on tights, more than fake tan. It does more than just tan IMO.
