Oh, it seems that the perfume society are getting rid of their discovery boxes, I've received the below email:

We wanted to share some news with you about a much-loved part of our fragrance journey.

After careful consideration, we have decided to bring our Discovery Boxes programme to a close.

When we first launched the boxes, the fragrance landscape looked very different. Opportunities to sample a wide range of perfumes at home were relatively limited, and discovering new brands often required a leap of faith. Today, the world of fragrance has evolved dramatically. Many brands now offer their own discovery sets, and fragrance lovers have more ways than ever to explore new scents and houses before committing to a full bottle.

While this marks the end of our Discovery Boxes, we couldn't be prouder of what they achieved.

From the very beginning, our goal was simple: to help people discover fragrance with confidence. We wanted to share knowledge, spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and make the world of perfume more accessible to everyone, whether they were taking their first steps into fragrance or expanding an already passionate collection.

Over the years, our Discovery Boxes have introduced thousands of fragrance lovers to exciting new brands, hidden gems and future favourites. We've had the privilege of helping our community explore a remarkable diversity of scents, stories and creators, and we are deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us to guide those discoveries.

Most importantly, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased a Discovery Box. Your enthusiasm, feedback and support made them what they were. For members with an active annual Seasonal Scents Subscription for the Discovery Boxes, please be assured that we will be in touch and will ensure that you are appropriately reimbursed.

Every box represented an opportunity to connect people with fragrance, and it has been a pleasure to be part of that journey.

Although the boxes are coming to an end, our passion for fragrance remains unchanged. We hope you'll continue to discover, explore and enjoy fragrance in all its forms, embracing both familiar favourites and unexpected new finds along the way.

Thank you for being part of our fragrance community and for allowing us to share in your scent adventures.

With warmest wishes,

Lorna & The Perfume Society Team

My summer box is meant to be arriving today🤞🏻

I was thinking of ending my subscription soon, they needed to include new and upcoming scents, some of the boxes would include perfumes that have been out for years. The main reason I kept the subscription for so long was out of guilt for telling everyone that the essence deluxe discovery box was free with the subscription 🙈🤣 oops!!

HolidayHattie · 15/06/2026 12:38

@JoRaRaRa I did the subscription boxes for a year and enjoyed all the different samples (well, I didn't like them all but enjoyed trying them IYSWIM) as I was new to the world of niche perfumes when I started, but a year (4 boxes) was enough. It probably has run its course.

Not that I think I know it all now; I feel just as ignorant as when I started, even though I've learned a lot.

HolidayHattie · 15/06/2026 12:42

Recently I've just been wearing my old favourites Flower by Kenzo and Ange ou Démon Le Secret by Givenchy as I have FSBs to use up.

I'm very glad you did.. I got a lucky free one and then several at half price in the sale which I wouldn't have known about.

First time ordering.

I love the bag. 🤩
Ive marked as sensitive just incase anyone want to see it. Hope it works x

My bag is the same! I really like your turn 2, only sprayed that so far on skin

IDontHateRainbows · 15/06/2026 17:47

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb. Another favourite designer frag - very suitable for summer reminds me a bit of sunset hour by Goldfield and Banks. Wish it was bloody sunset hour, only clouds here (up north)

Why do the ones I’m not keen on always last?!

Tana Meadow is still strong and I sprayed it at 8am. I wish all the lovely lemons did that!

MiaN · 15/06/2026 19:09

Good girl is lovely on warm summer evening.

BTSO - sugar addict made me do a happy dance
on the other hand, I hate dirty heaven and it’s an immediate scrubber

I love dirty heaven. Right up my street.

it smelled like petrol on me. Although my skin also turns jasmine and ylang ylang into.. cat wee ConfusedGrin

I’ve chosen 4160 Tuesdays Meet Me On The Corner.

I think it’s a bit knickery/animalic - maybe too much for work comfort…although it’s nowhere close to the grubbiness of Papillon Salome, which is very bed-after-sex!! I accidentally wore that to parents’ evening once. 😳

I like it, I don’t love it.

IDontHateRainbows · 16/06/2026 11:00

DS Durga Radio Bombay today. I like this one although it may not be to everyone's taste - it's quite experimental as a lot from this house are. They have managed to capture the metallicness of a radio somehow!

Sotd
Goldman Banks Sunset Hour.
One of samples from Perfume Muse samples.
Lovely, still going strong after a few hours on wrists

I really liked that one too, quite fruity and sweet

NotTheFreudYoureLookingFor · 17/06/2026 07:35

I've been enjoying Exploud. Anyone want to swap an unwanted Exploud for something else in the parfum muse set? I'm generally less keen on the sweet/floral/fruity ones.

TragicMuse · 17/06/2026 09:02

I have layered Lannosea and Mary Greenwell Lemon today. It really works nicely! I had never thought about layering before this thread so thank you for new scent adventures!

IDontHateRainbows · 17/06/2026 10:19

PDM Delina today - it's a lovely refreshing rose with a touch of fruit I think Lychee. I can see why it's popular with mass appeal.

Gypsy water SOTD

The fragrance gods are playing with me. My mum came to visit yesterday and was smelling lovely. She's a Jo Malone fan so I assumed it must be one of them. Turns out it's a cheapo body mist by Gem - Santal. She gave me her bottle. I'm wearing it today. V nice!

So I've got a gazillion fancy niche samples, and I'm wearing (and loving) a £5 body mist 🤷

OvaHere · 17/06/2026 22:00

SOTD was Casamorati Lira this morning which is my absolute favourite at the moment. It's divine.

It's only around £50 on Notino for 30ml and whilst I don't wish to be a bad influence I really would implore anyone who loves the idea of smelling like a very cosy vanilla & lemon cake to give it a try.

In the afternoon I tried out Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc which is a very fresh laundry scent. I quite like it, I think it's a grower. Smells very clean and inoffensive so it will go on the wear to the office pile.

It's supposed to be a decent dupe for Caroline Herrera Cedar Chic which is impossible to get hold of because they seem to restock a couple of bottles at a time, months apart and it immediately goes out of stock.

SavageGarden23 · 17/06/2026 22:58

Miller Harris tea tonique , nice fresh earl grey scent which is my favourite beverage. Lasting power is poor ,even on clothes only a few hrs. Luckily I sit in a corner booth in ny office so applied multiple times before meetings to deal with the office drama.

MiaN · 18/06/2026 07:19

L'Interdit yesterday and today. It's not dupe at all of the new PDM, but it did give me that pretty, slightly sweet, lively opening. I forgot how much I love it

IDontHateRainbows · 18/06/2026 07:45

SOT Morning Oud for Greatness. Its's not very oud heavy at all. Very saffrony which I do love.
Selfridges frag edit 1 on sale, perfumistas. This is the better of the two edits in my opinion - ganymede, halfeti, hedonist and a few others.
