This eve: Perfume de Marly 'Valaya' - white soap / dryer sheets / clean cotton, clean girl scent. A touch of floral (lily of the valley?) but not too much; it goes on a little sweet and nutty but that burns off. Yum.

Testing Balinese Coconut Perfume Oil Nest this morning. Its lovely, simple but nice.

I won't get on with Jo Malone Frangipani. It reminded me why I don't like blind buys

What are the chances, I got exactly same kit from Liberty! I was hoping to get Maze maybe and Fabbrica Della Musa Pearl of Dawn as I don't like the opera at all but happy with my purchase anyway and LBTY Adelphi sun have grown up to potential full bottle at some distant future when I run out of the travel sizes I have.

I have 3 Deep Lotus for Swap If anyone has the Fabbrica Della Musa Pearl of Dawn or any other citrus/clean and fresh or any sample sets you are done with. I would be interested in trying the other two LBTY too.

I have a pearl of dawn I could swap or sell and also the citric if you need any more of that. Not after the bibbi but PM me if you want the pearl of dawn...

Vanilla Planifolia today which is the freshest, greenest vanilla i've ever tried. I had gone off vanilla a bit, it's more a note I reach for in the cooler months, but this is a lovely summery vanilla.

My moomin perfume is out for delivery today, I’ll report back

Really like the moomin perfume. It’s like persil powder with some vanilla/typical lush sweetness. Which sounds weird but it’s very comforting
I don’t like milky bath and it doesn’t remind me of that. Good blind buy

@practicalmagictime that sounds really nice! Getting that laundry scents right is tricky but that sounds good!

SOTD Hydra Figue, I really love fig scents but this doesn’t do it for me, it reminds me too much of a White Company scented candle.

Victoria Beckham Portofino, my first expensive perfume. I would not buy it again, it's too strong. For someone used to Byredo, being limited to two sprays it feels strange. Let's see how I get on

against all odds as I didn't think I'd like it, absolutely loving Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle. It's a light rose with a latexy note - sounds yuk but it's really nice.

Also tried portrait of a lady which is the more well known one - nice but not seeing the hype.

I really liked Lipstick Rose; like you, I expected to dislike it. I didn't find the rose too dominant. It started with violet then more general florals.

POAL has a note I dislike but I can't quite identify it.

With you on POAL yes there is one weird note. Could be patchouli. Patch, like Oud is one of those notes that (for me) has to be balanced juuuust right or I don't like it.

Liberty Adelphi Sun today. When I first tried this in Liberty I wasn’t keen. I was in the Fragrance Lounge and there were a lot of other competing scents flying around. Today it’s lovely. Fresher and more citrusy than Maze and less soapy. V nice.

Sotd liberty delphine sun. Yesterday and today. Came across a sample. Lovely. If it was a definite in the liberty set id have bought it but it isn't so im not 🤩

Lust in Paradise Extrait today. Very lovely floral.

I caved and bought the matiere premiere extrait set. Uh oh..

I do love matiere premiere though especially the extraits and although expensive, considering full bottle price it seemed reasonable.

Listen to me saying spending £200 at once on frag is reasonable...

I've still mostly been wearing Luna and Neroli Portofino recently. I've just got a sample set of the Hermes Un Jardin... scents and tried sur le Nil yesterday, which was very nice, although as usual I struggle to describe it. It seemed slightly citrusy to my nose (according to Fragrantica it has grapefruit and orange) but not sharp, with some nice depths.

Today's is à Cythère, which I'm also enjoying. It's described as "blond", but it's not at all sharp. Grasses, olive wood and pistachio apparently, but it's not nutty or woody to my nose - well, maybe light woods but not dark ones. Very slightly medicinal.

Both of them are perfect for this time of year. I thought the set contained en Méditerranée, which I wanted to try, but it has à Cythère instead. The two remaining to try are de Monsieur Li and Sur La Lagune.

Tried citric from liberty. Not usually a citrus fan but it's very pleasant. Nice for an occasional change.

I layered MP vanilla powder and Lannosea today and topped it with Jo Malone Oak and redcurrant. Lovely and fresh start into the vanilla.

I’m away and brought a selection but left my MG lemon behind, it’s an insanely heavy bottle! So my citrus will be limited. Think I’ll be exploring figs instead.

I also got out the byredo blanche from the snk fragrance calendar this afternoon. It smells very similar to acne studios to me. I'm not sure why both were required in the calendar. I'm only just thinking this so I'm sorry if this has already been discussed and I'm slow 🤣

Vyrao Ludatrix today. I've been wearing this quite a bit. I want to finish the 8ml I've got as I bought a 30ml of it a while back which is sat unopened.
