I need opinions on these shoes I've just ordered please cos I'm having second thoughts...

Leopard Print Shoes

I normally wouldnt touch leopard print with a barge pole, but it has moved on from Bette Lynch back in the day and I've started to appreciate it used as a neutral (perimenopause has done wonderful things to my brain!) But are these shoes a step too far? I wear mostly casual dresses in black, navy, khaki day to day

I adore leopard print and Im in my 60s.
I certainly love these.

60andcounting · 30/05/2026 18:53

I like animal print and I like them. With plain jeans/trousers/ dress etc they'll look nice.

I'll add a picture for when it loads

I’m not 100% on the bright white v on the sides, would have to make a judgement call in person, but I like the rest of the shoe including the leopard! Could look really good with your black dresses and also jeans.

Pearlstillsinging · 30/05/2026 18:57

I think so long as you don't intend to wear them with other leopard/animal prints they will be fine. You will need to try them on to be able to decide.

dudsville · 30/05/2026 18:58

I saw a young woman yesterday wearing leopard print shoes with an outfit that was all pale clay/pinkish. She looked fabulous. The print has been a neutral basic for ages, bette lynch is a far distant reference that no longer applies.

SnowflakeSmasher86 · 30/05/2026 18:59

love them and I’d be asking where you got them if I saw you out wearing them!

ForestHare · Yesterday 16:14

They're supposed to arrive tomorrow...

Oh they're fantastic and I LOVE the burgundy laces!

I would wear them with just about anything

canklesmctacotits · Yesterday 16:19

Leopard print, for me, is for women who either like the look of it, or who use words like “snazzy” or “funky”. The emphasis is generally on comfort with the print being a concession towards not being entirely dull. It takes a lot of inherent style to pull off leopard print imho!

brahmsandnegroni · Yesterday 16:21

I really like them. What are they made of? If they are leather I would definitely buy a pair myself!

Lauz841 · Yesterday 16:22

I love the leopard and burgundy but I really dont like the white bit. I would definitely have bought them if it hadn't been for that, I love animal print.

DramaAlpaca · Yesterday 16:23

I love leopard print shoes and have a few pairs - ballet flats, boots and trainers. I like the burgundy laces on those, the white bits not so much. Try them and see how you feel; they'll go with everything.

ExOptimist · Yesterday 16:24

I'm in my 60s and love a bit of leopard print. I like those shoes.

However in my opinion when it's worn it should be only be a small amount eg shoes, scarf, and everything else worn with it needs to be completely plain and hardly any jewellery.

I have recently bought some leopard chunky sandals from m&s which I wear with brown or black linen, I love them.

lalaloopyhead · Yesterday 16:31

I love leopard print, so it is a yes from me!

I have addidas leopard trainers and I wear them quite alot with black/brown/denim - very useful.

JuliaBraverman · Yesterday 16:33

Love them!

MontyDonsBlueSuit · Yesterday 16:40

I'm very tempted by those now! I tend to wear fairly plain styles but love a stripe or a bit of leopard to liven things up a bit (but would never refer to myself as funky or jazzy!) I've got some gorgeous leopard print Converse that I always feel good in so I'm sure these will do the same for you.

nonmerci99 · Yesterday 16:41

They aren’t my style but I think they look cool and would go with lots of stuff! If you love them I think you’ll look great.

JunesDunes · Yesterday 16:44

I hate animal print. 🤣
I genuinely dont understand how it's considered a neutral either. It's something that is highly patterned and can't be worn with everything. The opposite if a neutral.

ForestHare · Yesterday 16:53

I hope I love them! I used to agree about them being too patterned to be a neutral but I've seen it used on trousers that are mostly dark so the pattern isnt glaring at all, almost hard to see.
I don't call myself snazzy or funky, anything but! And I wear pretty plain clothes, very minimal jewellery or make up, if any so fingers crossed I can pull them off!

I love leopard print and have a lot of it. Never consciously use the words snazzy or funky…..

Nice shoes. Like others I’m not overly keen on the white but thats me just being a bit picky.

I think with leopard print you either love it or hate it. Not much of a middle ground.

Purplecatshopaholic · Yesterday 16:55

Love those. They’ll jazz up a plain outfit and go with most things. I hope you love them. I have a pair of Leopard print kitten heels that I love.

Lottapianos · Yesterday 16:58

'However in my opinion when it's worn it should be only be a small amount eg shoes, scarf, and everything else worn with it needs to be completely plain and hardly any jewellery.'

My opinion is the complete opposite of this 😁

Beamur · Yesterday 17:02

They are fabulous. I would wear them. Love a bit of animal print with an otherwise quite subtle outfit.

Aparecium · Yesterday 17:03

I love them - but I’d be taking my box of Sharpies and colouring in that awful white V.

I once had a pair of leopard print shoes. Solid, not dainty, and I wore them with jeans mostly. They were great fun. You can’t take leopard print shoes seriously.
