I need opinions on these shoes I've just ordered please cos I'm having second thoughts...

Leopard Print Shoes

I normally wouldnt touch leopard print with a barge pole, but it has moved on from Bette Lynch back in the day and I've started to appreciate it used as a neutral (perimenopause has done wonderful things to my brain!) But are these shoes a step too far? I wear mostly casual dresses in black, navy, khaki day to day

Leopard print shoes have ALWAYS been acceptable 😍

DancingNotDrowning · 01/06/2026 17:08

I love leopard print but weirdly not on casual items.

So I love a tailored leopard print trouser, pointy boot, fur coat or evening top. I’m not keen on leopard jeans, trainers, parka or T-shirt

Cromoton · 01/06/2026 17:15

Potentially ok but not keen on the big white V. There must be an equivalent without the white V somewhere!

bet lynch is surely long ago and far away!

Ohhhthedrama · 01/06/2026 17:15

Oh I love them. I just got some wide leg leopard print jeans. I wore them this weekend with a bright yellow T-shirt and got so many compliments. I think leopard is a classic neutral.

InfoSecInTheCity · 01/06/2026 17:18

I love leopard print trainers but prefer some of the slimmer retro versions with the less chunky sole. I have some from Asda that I wear with ankle grazers and a blazer for work events.

Newmeagain · 01/06/2026 17:30

Strangely enough while I love leopard print, I am not that keen on it on shoes.

maybe because I like it on things where it is obvious that it is just a print, and not trying to actually look like leopard fur - not sure if that makes sense!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 01/06/2026 17:45

I got a pair of muted leopard print shoes the other week from Tu (sainsburys) and my NDN/friend recently got a pair of leopard print shoes from H&M. My SIL has a new pair of leopard highlight beige adidas gazelles.

They’re nice.

Fiftyandnotsonifty · 01/06/2026 17:49

I read recently (I can’t remember where I do read a lot of crap lol) that leopard print is now considered a neutral. I wear it a lot so happy days

ThreeStripeQueen · 01/06/2026 17:56

I love my leopard print trainers, they make me smile every time I wear them.

blueshoes · 01/06/2026 18:03

Theresa May is known for her leopard print kitten heel pumps.

Sunnydaysarehereagain2026 · 01/06/2026 18:06

I've got leopard print Crocs! Love them and I'm 54!

Justwantedtosayrightnow · 01/06/2026 18:59

Love them !

Alwaystired23 · 01/06/2026 19:06

I love leopard print. I'm actually wearing a pair of leopard print sketchers now. I don't care about pulling them off, if I like something, I wear it. Hope you like your new shoes!!

MsRinky · 01/06/2026 19:06

I’m not keen on the white bit either, but love me some menopausal leopard. I no longer give a fuck what anyone else thinks of it.

TenTenTenAgain · 01/06/2026 19:17

I really like them.

I had a pair of animal print cons that I wore to pieces. They actually worked with a lot of my outfits because essentially the colours of leopard print are quite neutral.

BIossomtoes · 01/06/2026 19:37

I love a bit of leopard print. My most complimented garment is a rain coat in a stylised leopard print. I also have zebra print shoes and snakeskin boots. Obviously I only wear one of them at any time, not the whole zoo!

I also have leopard print jeans. I wear them with a red or grass green or pink tshirt and always get compliments. I also have 3 pairs of shoes with leopard print on them and a few years ago had the ubiquitous leopard print dress.

StephensLass1977 · 01/06/2026 20:18

I love leopard print, and have similar to these. They're lovely, op. You'll style them well, I'm sure. I don't worry about being called Bet Lynch or Kat Slater for my love of animal print because I wear it very subtly, just like these shoes are subtle.

Leopard print, for me, is for women who either like the look of it, or who use words like “snazzy” or “funky”. The emphasis is generally on comfort with the print being a concession towards not being entirely dull. It takes a lot of inherent style to pull off leopard print imho!

I agree. They’re a bit orthopaedic but I’m still funky, honest!

THEDEACON · 01/06/2026 20:22

I now NEED these

DanaScullysLegoHair · 01/06/2026 20:27

I love them. I have some leopard print slip-on Vans that look great with black jeans. They're a bit more chunky so would definitely suit carrot jeans (M&S ankle grazer ones are great!) Or wide-legged trousers.

Enjoy 🙂

Editing to add that I just re-read your post and saw you wear dresses. They'll definitely look great. I also like the white on them.

Notsosweetcaroline · 01/06/2026 20:38

I really dislike leopard print, I think folks keeping calling it a neutral doesn’t make it so,it’s not happening, but to be fair those shoes are not the worst I’ve seen, the white stripe makes it slightly less objectionable. I’d not wear them though, sorry op.

wendlene · 01/06/2026 21:16

I've got to the age where I don't give a monkey's rats ass about what other people think of what I wear - if I like it - I'll wear it. It's their problem not mine if they don't.

Shego · 01/06/2026 21:22

I have them, love them. I get lots of nice comments, and they're comfy too.

Downatthebeach · 01/06/2026 21:37

If you like them then buy/wear them. Each to their own. I think Leopard/Animal print will always be seen as one of those controversial subjects that divides opinions into the ‘Love them or Hate them’ corners.
Personally I have never worn any type of animal print, but that’s just me. I go for bright ‘out there’ colours that no doubt others dislike, but being yourself and doing your own thing is what’s important.

I hope you enjoy your new shoes.
