Us Brits really don't have much style compared to the Continentals, do we. And nothing exposes our failings more than an early heatwave! 🤣

My parents always used to say if I was going out looking like a fright... 'you're not going out like that are you'? (Mum and dad peering over their glasses at teenage me, swanning out of the door).

Today it's been a mixed bag - the young girls about 12 who are starting out with the Nike minuscule pants on and crop top accompanied by spider lashes pulling at their clothes all the time. Then there's been masses of tight denim shorts - why? In the heat ! Suffocated privates!! Yes there's been the women in sundresses with no bras on - why?? 😬 . It's not difficult to look neat and tidy in hot weather 🤷‍♀️

The practical in me does not get tight denim shorts but also thinks bras are not comfy in very hot weather. Maybe that’s why? Apart from work I’ve had a free range 36F for several days. Those who don’t like it can avert their gaze.

Ok I see your baggy knee length shorts and I raise you my DH’s tight, short shorts. Excellent for the pervy scoutmaster look.

I went free range for about 10 years after one very hot summer. (A-cup mind you.) I only went back to bras when I was breastfeeding and they turned into rocks, with every brush of clothes over my nipples adding to the discomfort.

I don’t mind if it’s a fit toned body on a preferably younger man but no old beer gut thanks.

Mens shirtless beer bellies hanging over their shorts. I think most men have body dismorphia while some just don't care. The amount of women I see who manage to look great in hot weather...and then there's men, some of which think its a green pass to look like a slob. Yuk!

Latest trend here seems to be nude all in one short suits which are tight (like cycle shorts and vest top).

Ive also noticed a trend this year for denim hot pants with the flies undone and open (looks like they are designed that way) and they are worn with decorated pants (again it seems to be designed to show off the underwear - which I prefer people to keep under their clothing)

Of course. But it didn't stop people asking why I wasn't wearing a bra. "Because I don't need one," apparently wasn't a good enough answer.

Obviously I'm not your tits(!) but doesn't it feel very sticky and sweaty underneath your boobs if you're just letting them hang down? A cotton bra lifts my Ds up and helps absorb the sweat during hot days.

I get more hot and sweaty with a bra partly because of the back band. The restriction of the cups on my boobs makes me hotter too.

l can't imagine cotton (no stretch) offering a lot of support anyway.

I will add to the list, sliders in any form. To me they look like something you'd wear in a communal shower to avoid getting toe fungus.

Except the toe fungus is more aesthetic.
