Came in here to say shorts/skirts with bum cheeks hanging out but I also saw someone wearing a unitard the other day. Didn't leave anything to the imagination!!

I think it can in theory be illegal. As far as I understood it, obscenity laws mean your appearance can be considered obscene if people complain and the police agree with them.

I think it's not illegal to be naked in public, it's illegal to be doing it in such a way that it's upsetting and offending people. So rude sunbathing in a quiet spot would be ok, flashing would not.

ThatCyanCat · 26/05/2026 22:05

Lol, I meant "nude", not "rude". Fucking autocorrect.

  • shirtless men
  • sandals/sliders with socks
  • 'bum shorts'.

I live in a seaside town and again today I was reminded that so many Brits just don't know how to dress for sunny days.

The women wearing clothes that are too tight/small/revealing and the sweaty and sunburned shirtless men with beer bellies were out in force.

Yes; I said this very thing (also live in seaside town) about British people as opposed to Italians, Spanish, and was told that the British are starved of sun, so at first hint they expose as much as possible. Yes, but........if I've skipped lunch, I don't eat dinner like a ravenous hyena. Limited exposure is no excuse.

Those who think they are the fashion police on something that has no impact on them.

That's a look?

I’ll ban judgy bitches commenting on others clothing in ridiculous hot weather 😊

It WAS the question!

Teakettletrio · 26/05/2026 23:08

@Shortbreadel thrte was a woman wearing a skin tight unitard in Tescos this evening. That is some chutzpah. And a woman wearing a bra top and gym pants/shorts. She was one step away from the full Bianca Cessori. Make it stop, please.

gatorlizzie · 26/05/2026 23:15

Today I had the experience of following upstairs a bare bum covered only in thin white linen trousers 🤮

Yesitismeandiamcomingforyou · 26/05/2026 23:49

Another vote for topless appearances in pubic. Anywhere outside of a private garden, beach or resort is grim, regardless of the age or athleticism of the (non)wearer.

Overtheatlantic · 27/05/2026 00:02

Shorts on men. I’ve seen one too many pairs of hairy man legs today.

I was wearing a (sports) bra top and shorts early this morning because I was out for a run and it was already 20 degrees at 7am. It wouldn't even cross my mind to give a fuck what anybody else thought?

I envy those with nothing more pressing to worry about than what others are wearing, although I suppose if I'd lost the ability to control my eyeballs and just look in a different direction I'd be a bit concerned.

I've never seen DH without a (short, neatly trimmed) beard. The photos of him without one are decidedly odd. I think it would take me a while to get used to if he shaved it off.

GET USED TO IT ✊🏾 it is coming off 🫡

I persuaded my partner to grow one not long after we met. It suits him sooooo much better! I don't love beards per se - but I love one on him. It's also short & well-groomed.

His wardrobe went through a bit of a reboot too ... 😁!!

The truth is that most people not only have no style, they have no idea how to avoid looking actively fucking awful. 🤣

NameChangeMay2026 · 27/05/2026 02:58

I agree with the person who said beards. There aren't enough vomit emojis in the world! I hate facial hair on men with a passion. I am so, so fed up with looking at hairy faces. It's like looking at hairy bums with a nose poking out from between the cheeks.

I grew up in the Eighties when all the men were clean-shaven, and beards and moustaches were hilarious remnants of the Seventies. Back then, never did we DREAM that such monstrosities would return. Same for centre-parted, pancake-flat hair on women. In the Eighties we had lovely big hair and would have rather died than go out looking like Ali M in Love Story. But it's been twenty years of Seventies hair and beards again! I do wish someone would make it stop.

Now THIS is what I call a hairdo!

NameChangeMay2026 · 27/05/2026 02:59

And these are what I call sexy men! Not a beard or moustache or a whisker on sight! Just lots of hair on their heads, where it's meant to be.

Jesus boots and socks on men.
Thought this had died off years ago.
It used to be confined to old men.

But it seems to have made a revival amongst men from all age groups.

Chickadee001 · 27/05/2026 05:51

FLESH coloured leggings - WTF?!!!

awfulapril · 27/05/2026 06:07

I love big hair still

Another for bare chested men outside of pool and beach.

Poor coverage shorts or swimwear, worst of all thong, beach or pool is no excuse.

Really? I love my husband in shorts - he has fabulous legs, and our 2 young sons pretty much live in shorts when they’re not working.

Shirtless blokes. Every single time.
Leave the women alone! 😂

This. Sweaty hairy paunches. No thanks.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/05/2026 07:31

I .miss the 60's when I was a kid. People tended go go out well dressed even though it was the mini skirt era. Somehow you had more respect for people who made the effort.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 27/05/2026 08:05

I don’t care if a man isn’t fat, put a bloody top on you scrubber.
Yesterday I had the misfortune to see a group of men (late 20s/30s) walking through town topless. They all wore black shorts with either trainers or boots and longish socks. The one closest to me, maybe the others did too, I didn’t want to stare, was covered in marks across his body. They looked like either remnants from a fight or maybe where he had been injecting drugs. He looked absolutely vile. If it’s that hot then wear sandals not trainers/boots and thick socks!
Again I didn’t get a good look at the others as they looked like the type of men you would not want to aggregate .

Oh and this is absolutely nowhere whatsoever near a beach or any water mass.
