Men with their shirts off, anywhere but on the beach/ by the pool. I’ve just seen a topless oik on Sainsbury’s.

Open toed anything.... even 'nice' feet give me the heebie jellies! Feet are grim, keep your toes to yourself please 😂😂

I live in sandals all summer. My feet are buffed, clean, hairless, pedicured every few days.

I can't give that up, I hate having hot sweaty feet.

NotTheOrdinary · 25/05/2026 17:51

I mean the thread is ageist, sexist, fat shaming.

It has it all.

DaffodilLill · 25/05/2026 17:38

The air flows up long droopy dresses. Not that I wear dresses that trail on the ground

Shorts are not 'cool' when it's hot.
They restrict the air flow around your bum etc . Tight waistbands too.

I think shorts are for the beach, or playing sport, or hiking.

Yep, shorts are horrid when it is hot. Long, floaty, natural materials and as covered up as possible is actually cooler. I love a huge and florid dress though, why wear shorts when you can float about like a dryad or an elven princess? Shorts are boring. I do the gardening in dresses!

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 25/05/2026 17:54

It is too hot for me to care about what other people wear.

Sharib1990 · 25/05/2026 17:54

Topless men out in public (except a beach or pool etc) I find it feels really aggressive to me. Otherwise wear what you like.

Shirtless blokes. Every single time.
Leave the women alone! 😂

THIS!!

outerspacepotato · 25/05/2026 17:55

Do not wear your thong bikini under a transparent plastic skirt into town. Do not wear your Speedos into town.

Thank you.

weareallcats · 25/05/2026 17:55

Ps - I hardly go out when it’s hot because everyone loses their minds and it’s so busy everywhere, so I mostly don’t see what other people are wearing.

DeathBanana · 25/05/2026 17:56

I don’t love the look of those calf length cargo trousers on the felllas but other than that I’m just so happy it’s warm and sunny and everyone is enjoying a long weekend. I can’t get het up over what anyone is wearing. It’s been a lovely weekend.

Newstartplease24 · 25/05/2026 17:57

Linen or cotton trousers or shorts that look like your vagina is trying to eat the fabric. You need a size up, they are not airy and cool on you, they are creased and strained

families of American tourists all dressed the same. A middle aged white man, a middle aged white woman and two teenagers, all huge (not necessarily fat - just massive and really solid) all blandly complacent, all wearing basic long shorts, basic polo, huge white trainers. Sitting in a row in a tube with enormous bottles of soft drinks.

Buscobel · 25/05/2026 17:57

My legs will no longer take shorts, so I’ll carry on with my midi dress and trainers.

I loathe jersey shorts on men. Especially the really loose flappy ones.

Otherwise, everything has already been mentioned, but I’ll add red burned flesh.

yellowhatonacapybara · 25/05/2026 15:44

Shorts that are so short I can see your bum cheeks hanging down. Grim.

Just shorts in general. Especially those worn by those aesthetically unqualified to wear them i.e. usually anyone over the age of thirty.

(I’m being generous here. I’d like to say seventeen and I would if I were UK style dictator. )

awfulapril · 25/05/2026 17:58

Agree @Meadowfinch I have lovely feet too, people often admire them

Echo everything said already. I don't know how some people men and women can be so oblivious to how they look. I know they don't care though!

Anyway, for a bit of drooling and light relief, here is how men on the Cote d'Azur in Summer present themselves. How gorgeous. The only topless men and near naked girls/women in shops etc. abroad are usually not from that country and a lot are British. You can spot them a mile away.

Topless men with their shirt tucked into the back of their shorts

Tabarnak · 25/05/2026 18:05

Full niqab on women, little girls in hijab.

So many women today encased in synthetic fabric while their menfolk are in T shirts, boys on shorts.

Upwiththisiwillnotput · 25/05/2026 18:09

A few years ago I was walking down Regent Street and a completely naked man was walking towards me. Mid fifties, bit of a belly, bits swinging everywhere. His total insouciance was almost admirable. Obviously, being British, we all just averted our eyes and pretended NOTHING WAS HAPPENING.
it was still less offensive than shirtless men 😆

PhaedraTwo · 25/05/2026 18:11

BeaRightThere · 25/05/2026 16:40

I don't like the shirtless thing either but tbf, it's frequently said on here that women should wear what they like regardless of whether it appeals to the opposite sex or not, so I guess we have to suck this one up as what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

There is no comparison with just about anything a woman might wear and men not wearing a shirt. There is something very aggressive about a man being topless anywhere other than a beach or swimming pool.
