What should I wear to a black tie celebrity wedding?

A friend is getting married in NYC later this year. The dress code is black tie. The venue has not been disclosed and will not be disclosed until the day of the event to avoid media attention as they are within the celebrity sphere (I know them through family and am very much not from this world)
Any advice on something suitably glamorous given there may be a few A listers present and I don’t want to look out of place? I’m 5’7, size 8-10. Budget not really an issue

Others from Bernadette. Minimal navy, but lovely flowing edges. An icy blue-green asymmetric one. And a proper big reddish-pink "gown", which I love!

Last few of the ones I like on Bernadette. Love both the teal blue & emerald shades, & also the simplicity of a great black gown (with shitloads of jewellery, of course! Earrings & rings/bangles though - no necklace).

I rather like it! You should try it on at least? Do you want to wear a NY designer though?

If you wear one of the Bernadette ones you could also afford shelter to guests if it rains

These Saloni ones are also lovely. But I think probably too warm for your colouring?

Whereas these would be better (if the reds are cooler-toned in reality). The burgundy one could veer towards bridesmaid-y though.

I love so many of those dresses, & had been going to suggest some of the less obviously floral spring/summer options. Another British brand, & the prints & colours are beautiful.

But what is it with the models on the Erdem website??! So dour & bad-tempered looking that it's quite offputting!

I can't come on a thread about dresses without shoehorning in Liberty AGAIN!! As British as they come, iconic prints, & all silk ... plus these blue-green colours would suit you. They're not as full-on as some of the other suggestions, but they are beautiful. Maybe they would suit the get-together the day before? There are even top & trouser/top & skirt options that might suit then?

But I LOVE these two Erdem ones. The first silver-grey with blue one would complement your colouring particularly well, I think, OP?

And what I think is also lovely, & so appropriate, is that the prints are based on Dutch Master floral still life paintings - & New York was founded as a Dutch colony called New Amsterdam ...
