Does foundation or base layer of tinted cream that you can't see exist for older skin?

I'm 48. I look older. I am fair and freckly with wrinkles and visible pores.

I wear either no makeup or just a bit of mascara.

I would quite like a layer on my face that sort of evens up the colour and helps me look less haggard. I won't be doing layers of product, or buffing with a pointy egg shaped sponge.

Does such a thing exist? I tried something but I could see it on my face like a paste. I know it's normal to be able to see foundation, especially on older skin, but I don't want that on my face.

I like a tinted serum, most days I use The ordinary Serum Foundation. It's very liquid and a tiny bit goes a long way as I like a very light coverage. I have light olive skin and shade 2.0N is perfect.

On a sunny day, I use tinted SPF. Currently using Garnier wonder tint, I mix medium and light for my skin shade. It's a bit thicker but gives a nice glow.

@ReadySaltedSquares Thanks ever so much for the Garnier recommendations. I'm trying the skin tint which is really working for me and I might get the glow and the tannning drops too and follow your routine.
I have a liking for Nivea from years ago, but I don't like their tinted day cream at all , wrong colour for me and very "flat" on my face. The Nivea soft about £2 a tube is great for taking on your weekend breaks though, it moisturisers everything!

Lumene instant glow beauty serum is amazing. Can be worn under foundation but most of the time I use it on its own and just add a bit of powder to get rid of shine.

I wear medium but they have other shades.

Thank you SO much for this thread.
I’ve finally found something that works for me - the Chanel Water Tint is amazing. I feel like a kid in a sweet shop I’m so thrilled!

Over 60, makeup only worn on very rare occasions, and hate, loathe, detest any foundation. Hate the feel. Hate the outbreak that follows. Sensitive skin, too.

This is so easy and the best thing is, I don’t feel it. On day two of wearing it now. Fingers crossed for no outbreak.
