Removing microbladed eyebrows - URGENT

TryAndGetOutOfThat · 24/04/2026 15:26

Has anyone had microbladed eyebrows removed? I had microblading done on Tuesday, and the brows are odd - one higher, arched, thin and light. The other is short, curved, dark and diferent altogether. I rang the salon the next morning and spoke with the woman who did it (she owns the salon). After a great deal of hostility from her, she asked me to go tomorrow morning ao that she can "sort it out". Googling it, it seems that the best method would be lasering, but I'm worried.

I was expecting thick black brows. They're not good but it's not that obvious. Definitely get the refund.

StevieNic · 25/04/2026 22:34

Could you go to somebody decent ( not her) and see if they can even them out?

Some sort of mapping like this should have happened

no wonder the eyebrows come out pissed if they do them with stick on talons!

CinnamonJellyBeans · 25/04/2026 23:31

How has no one else apart from me and @ApproachingMinimums realised that not only are the eyebrows different shapes, but the brush strokes are backwards?

Well done for getting your money back.

At least they are pale, so you should be able to even them up a little with eyebrow pencil. You can also obscure them slightly by getting nose pads to stick on the bridge of your glasses, which will raise the frames to cover the bottom of your brows, or you could invest in a new pair of prescription glasses, with higher frames, or if that's too much expense, you may be able to manage your cruise with reading glasses? Amazon do a good range of reading glasses with chunky frames.

The problem.with s lot of these so called Beauty Industry type businesses is that they are practically unregulated.

Check if she has insurance for when things go wrong or is. a qualified member of some kind of trade association

On holiday in Australia with my son, his 25 year-old girlfriend was having her brows done (not microbladed) At dinner afterwards, she asked my son if he liked her eyebrows. He said “not going to lie. One’s a bit higher than the other”. And she said without skipping a beat or getting upset. “How many times do I have to tell you, they’re siblings, not twins”.
So on that basis nobody except you will notice them on holiday. They are not dark and they don’t look weird. Your lovely face as a whole is what they will notice. Especially your smile.
While you are right to complain and the salon owner is wholly unprofessional, please don’t feel self-conscious about this or let it spoil your holiday.
Remember, in two weeks time, if you keep wiping them they will have faded significantly. And also anything you have done to your face feels exaggerated to you while you get used to it. We’re much more sensitive than others are to changes in our face as we’re so familiar with it. Get the refund. Don’t let the salon owner touch your face. Go on holiday. Take the siblings. Have a great time.

This. I'm not a fan of bad reviews but in this case the OP should leave a factual review with the issues listed including the blow up over it.

I have hardly any eyebrows because removing almost all back in the seventies and eighties was the thing but I am Scandi so they were so white blond they were invisible anyway. I know bugger all about it but @TryAndGetOutOfThat is right. She's had a bad job done badly.

themagicnumberthree · 26/04/2026 11:23

Clearly they've not been done right, but they can be removed. In the meantime they don't look noticeable with the colour being light and not everyone has naturally matching eyebrows anyway. One of mine is shorter and more arched than the other and always has been, my other eyebrow is much nicer!

I assume you had a meeting with the artist beforehand and established she & the premises were registered with your local authority before she can perform this medical procedure. She should possess a VTCT Level 4 certificate.(legal requirement) Also a valid certificate of Insurance
Did you complete a medical questionnaire giving her all your medical history and any medicines you take?
If you didn't do any of the above, perhaps you need to investigate this matter further.
Microblading is an expensive procedure and will cost you more than a few hundred pounds,
If cheaper than that, then I would be asking questions about her qualifications & registration.

AllyLond · 27/04/2026 14:23

I’m so sorry to hear of your experience. The owner of the salon sounds rude and unprofessional and a bit of a chancer I would be very wary of her proposed remedial action. I hope an acceptable solution is found by you speedily. Good luck

TryAndGetOutOfThat · 28/04/2026 14:10

HAPPYBRIT The lady who did the microblading owns the salon, which she has had for 20 years. Yes, she's qualified (although in my case, not very good at it). I don't call £260 cheap. How much is it where you live?

I have to say, the microbladed brows have faded a LOT - I've been washing them when I wash my face. I'm now filling them in with a pencil, and will carry on with that until I decide what I'm going to do, long-term. I certainly won't be going back to her.

Yes, she's qualified

As what? Is she a registered professional on any health professional register? NMC, GMC, GDC etc???

TryAndGetOutOfThat · 29/04/2026 13:16

7238SM, don't be silly.* You sound somewhat aggressive, although I'm not sure why you would be. She's got certificates to show she's completed VTCT Level 4 Microblading Course. *She owns the salon, has done so for 20 years.

I think you have completely mis understood the reason I asked whether she has a professional registration! If she did, you can look her up to check she is indeed still registered, practising within her registration and/or not registered at all. I'm not sure what relevance owning the salon has, but I hope you can get your brows sorted.

wishingonastar101 · 29/04/2026 13:49

They are not right. I have had my brows done 3 times and in-between I have had them laser treatment to remove pink pigment.
I would say - don't worry. They are faint - thank god they are not sharpy brows!
Do not let her try to fix them.
Get a full refund.
Go on holiday and don't think about them.
When you get back - spend the £260 on laser treatment. It's fine. Pretty painless and it does work.

Fringe, sunglasses, hat - you'll be fine.

helpfulperson · 29/04/2026 14:53

Can you not use an eyebrow pencil to even them up temporarily even if not quite the shape you want

TryAndGetOutOfThat · 30/04/2026 21:10

7238SM Sorry. I wouldn't know where to look to see if she's registered or not.
wishingonastar101 Thank you. They've faded a lot since I put the photos up. I'll enjoy my holiday and sort something out when I get back - not with her though!
helpfulperson Yes, I'm doing that. My pencilled brows look better than what she did! I've got hardly any hairs there at all.
