Do comfortable bras actually exist?

ShoopShoopBaDoop · 15/04/2026 20:30

I'm small chested so I don't actually need a very uplifting bra but I'm finding now I'm over 50 I do need a bit of ompf.

However, I have never found a bra that I find comfortable at all. I despise wires in bras and I don't like thin waist bands either as they feel scratchy and uncomfortable.

I often wear comfort bras as they do instead feel more comfortable but they don't give a nice shape and I feel I end up with a squashed chest and a mono-boob look, I want shape under my clothes especially with summer coming up.

Any suggestions for a comfortable yet uplifting bra which gives shape and one that I can wear all day without that gnawing desire to rip it off as soon as I get home?

M&S new body invisibles crop top (knock off of Skims)?

NotAFabergeEgg · 15/04/2026 21:05

I bought some from Conturve and they're delightfully comfy.

LarsenBiceshelf · 15/04/2026 21:09

Intimissimi have some very comfy bras (and reasonably priced, too).

Justploddingonandon · 15/04/2026 21:15

Boody t-shirt bras are so comfy I can forget I’m wearing them, although don’t give as much shape as my wired bras.

henlake7 · 15/04/2026 21:20

I feel like you inevitably sacrifice some perkiness the more comfortable the bra (and worse if you have big boobs!).
If I want comfy I usually wear one of those crop top ones, but they do make my boobs a good couple of inches lower.😆

Thank you, I will check those recommendations out.

Do they still give a bit of shape?

I have been converted from uncomfortable wired bras to sports bras. They are not particularly stylish, but they make up for that in terms of comfort and suspension for those of us with bigger bosoms and active lifestyles! They also don't have pesky wires that choose to pop out at the most inconvenient moments, like when you're at work...

I recently bought this in JL and I’m finding it very comfortable. I have been hunting for ages for a soft bra that doesn’t dig into my ribcage, roll up or feel too tight. This one also doesn’t have straps that slip off your shoulders. And it actually gives a decent shape, rather than a mono-boob. And it’s only £24.

Jelly bras!! Omg they are so comfy and look great! No wires and big straps. Heavenly.

dreamlove · 15/04/2026 23:12

I think it’s getting the brand that works for you
i wear Polish bras which fit so well, and despite having wires I’ve often had a nap in one and no desire to take it off. Not cheap but the lift is insane, never had a wire pop out and they’re comfortable on me

RampantIvy · 15/04/2026 23:15

Shapermint.

I’m a 30g so have issues with bras and most I hate but I bought the Celeste’ d or jelly bras after seeing them on fb and my god they are so comfortable. Actually more comfortable than not wearing one.

I keep seeing these on Tik Tok. Where do you get yours from?

Do you have a link or website recommendation?

These are the bras I have https://celeste-dor.com/collections/final-sale. I’d like to know if the TikTok jelly bras are the same as they’re a bit cheaper

neilyoungismyhero · 15/04/2026 21:23

Do they still give a bit of shape?

They do give a bit of shape. There are two kinds i bought, one is something like 'adjustable shaper' and it's really comfy and supportive but not madonna-level perky. The other is 'ultimate comfort' and that gives a great shape but ny the end of the day I can feel it. I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable at all but I'm aware I've got it on.
The only negative really is I find the website very "sell-y" and you have to keep saying no to their "before you go- another offer!" Tactics.
But that feels a small price to pay for really cheap, really comfy bras.

I wear M&S body crop tops.. v comfy

DumpedByText · 16/04/2026 01:54

Yes Shapermint are all I'll wear now, I'm large chested and they give me a good shape. They are so comfy to.

wateraddict · 16/04/2026 07:07

So many of my friends have moved to Comfit. I get mine brand new with tags off Vinted, the shape is lovely. Wire free and no digging in and a lovely smooth look over your back and under your arms.

CalicoCaterina · 16/04/2026 07:12

I wear Triumph bras, the amourette comes in wired and underwired and I also like their 'true shape sensation', this one starts at a C cup.

I went for a fitting years ago and they fitted me with an amourette and I have never looked at anything else. I find them really comfortable.
