I’ve been using Nars radiant longwear for 6 years now & although I like it I’m fancying a change but don’t really know what other good foundations are out there.

Does anyone recommend any particular ones that is similar to Nars? (I’ve used EL double wear before so not that one)

Thanks

I have used tons of different ones from Charlotte Tils to Nars to Estée Lauder but the best I have ever used is this Dior stick (you get a tenner off at Boots at the moment too). I put a stripe at the top of each cheek, my chin, my nose and forehead then blend in. No need of a touch up all day. The stick has lasted me almost a year and is nowhere near running out. Gorgeous glowy sheer finish.

If I need extra coverage over spots or red marks (thanks Tolak, you absolute bastard cream) I use a nars concealer. But that's if it's bad... the Dior is buildable.

Victoria Beckham the drops, horribly expensive, but god it’s worth every penny,

it’s hard to describe, it sort of sinks in and then leaves your skin looking glowy and healthy, blurs all imperfections or hides them, and you look really healthy but not like any normal foundation.

like everyone I wanted to hate it, nothing comes close and I’ve tried them all.

Another vote for Victoria Beckham. The more I use it the more I love it. I really wish I didn’t ££££

curious79 · 16/04/2026 20:45

Chanel, Les Beiges

I have just started using the M Asam magic foundation and it is lovely. Soft, mousse texture and it adjusts to your skin tone. I love it. Available amazon or qvc

I love M Asam products but not tried that one so I might have to now

hourglass2 · 16/04/2026 22:13

I've used Revlon colorstay foundation for years, really good

LaDamaDeElche · 16/04/2026 22:20

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. I have never found a better foundation.

I haven’t worn foundation in awhile because I never go anywhere - but I never know when I’m gonna get a flair-up of eczema on my same left cheek.
I use IT Cosmetics color correcting makeup.
It even has an SPF of 50.
What I like about it is that you can dilute it as much as you want with face lotion - or you can use less - it’s very versatile.
And it breathes, if you get me - I live in the hottest part of California. It stays put and lasts and looks nice, although I do give it a finishing touch of their matching powder.
i keep it in the dark in my bathroom cupboard and it is right up there price-wise with all the others.
I hope you find a foundation you’re happy with.
I never felt I got my money’s worth with Clinique.
I never used Lancôme foundation but I loved every other product I used.
Chanel? To die for if you’re not on a budget. I absolutely love Chanel.

ViciousChicken · 16/04/2026 22:30

I love Sculpted by Aimee - the dewy one is really nice on slightly older skin.

foldinthecheeeeeseeeeeeee · 16/04/2026 22:36

I love Victoria Beckham and secretly hoped i wouldn't because of the price but... I also like the IT cosmetics CC cream and Dior forever glow
For every day the Loreal serum is okay.

Also a huge fan of Erica Taylor on Instagram. Shes excellent 👌

I’ve switched to this

https://www.clarins.co.uk/double-serum-foundation/CS01581782.html#pid80119235

It’s medium, buildable coverage, it goes on best with a dense brush I find (but beauty blender or fingers work too).

It has a bit of an apricot type smell during the application process (which I’ve got used to now) but the scent is natural, plant based, not perfume.

I found a good shade match, lighter than the online tool, probably best if you can try it on (get colour matched at a Clarins counter?) or get samples as you said.

DOUBLE SERUM Foundation 2in1 Hybrid Foundation M1C

A next generation hybrid serum foundation whose groundbreaking fusion of make-up and skin care offers a new level of youthful radiance. Thanks to its adjustable dial, it provides weightless, customizable, medium-to-full coverage, with a luminous, sati...

My holy grail is Shiseido Revitalessence, very dewy and natural looking, hydrating and with SPF 30. The best match I've ever had as well for my pale cool/neutral colouring.

HotSoupBowl · 17/04/2026 00:13

Dior and YSL All Hours are good, but I’m really really liking Benefit just now

dreamlove · 17/04/2026 00:21

The MUA lumi tint is meant to be similar to VB (I say similar, obviously it’s £6 so it won’t be exact!)

GlobalTravellerbutespeciallyBognor · 17/04/2026 00:27

Many many recommendations here - how did you end up with these? Do you buy bottle after bottle and just try them out? VB is £104 which I really baulk at as an experiment.

I usually try in a shop, most counters will give samples or sometimes I pick them up off eBay if they’re tricky to get

Estée Lauder futurist is one of my faves as I have dry skin

I'm using Jones Road what the foundation and I really like it. I would usually buy tinted moisturiser because I hate heavy stuff on my skin but this feels and looks light but provides excellent cover. And it smells nice.

Another vote for Jones Road What The Foundation.

Also their Tinted Moisturiser is amazing! Really good coverage and skin looks glowy.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. I have never found a better foundation.

Agree. I have combination skin (normally decent but currently getting menopausal spots!). I really like how it give light to full coverage depending on whether I use a sponge or my fingers. I've been using this for years & don't feel the need to try anything else.

Sweetpea333 · 17/04/2026 03:22

I use M Asam. It's fantastic stuff!
