I’ve been using Nars radiant longwear for 6 years now & although I like it I’m fancying a change but don’t really know what other good foundations are out there.

Does anyone recommend any particular ones that is similar to Nars? (I’ve used EL double wear before so not that one)

Thanks

Love this uk.erborian.com/cc-cream-dor%C3%A9-6AA30052.html

StillSmallVoice · 14/04/2026 21:07

I swapped from EL Double Wear to an Eborian foundation after getting a sample which lasted for long enough to give it a good go. EL have changed their formulation and are offering fourteen day samples. The ne EL isn’t as chalky as the original and I quite like it. Have been alternating and can’t make up my mind.

Victoria Beckham the drops, horribly expensive, but god it’s worth every penny,

it’s hard to describe, it sort of sinks in and then leaves your skin looking glowy and healthy, blurs all imperfections or hides them, and you look really healthy but not like any normal foundation.

like everyone I wanted to hate it, nothing comes close and I’ve tried them all.

Erborian

Luminous Silk by Armani

madameimadam · 14/04/2026 21:15

I saw this and came on to say Erborian CC crème but I see I’ve been beaten to it!!

Honestly, I’ve tried lots - from Dior to Estée Lauder, Charlotte Tilbury to Maybelline, tinted moisturisers, etc.

Erborian is an absolute game changer

Look for foundations built around a silicone base with film-forming polymers, that's what gives that kind of radiant, longwear combination. Skin tint hybrids won't give you the same coverage, so stay with medium-to-full coverage formulas that list dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane early in the INCI..

1emma19 · 15/04/2026 12:58

Hi OP. For a similar finish & longevity you can check if dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane appears early in a product's INCI list.

Have to agree with this, it’s amazing and worth the price. Plus for day time you need very little so hopefully it will last ages. My skin also feels great when I wear it for a few days in a row.

Totally worth the hype (I also hoped it would not be)

Tinks15 · 15/04/2026 22:15

Thanks all sorry for my late reply!

I shall see if I can get my hands on some samples I definitely want to try before I go ahead & buy something.

Where would one go for samples of these? Are they in department stores?

JulietteHasAGun · 15/04/2026 22:49

I can’t get over the price of the VB foundation….£104. Don’t care how good it is not spending that much.

has anyone tried Haus Labs foundation? Meant to be excellent.

Highlighta · 16/04/2026 05:39

Not a foundation, but a skin tint serum.
Revlon Illuminating Serum. There is a foundation as well, but I like the tint.

It's buildable and leaves the skin looking so hydrated.

I am liking the new Double Wear. I had used the old formulation for years and was ready to change but I like the new. Slightly more liquid, a bit more of a glow to it but still stays in place and lasts. You will need to be re colour matched for it

Ophir · 16/04/2026 07:21

It cosmetics CC+ is really good

Or the hourglass vanish stick foundation

This sounds amazing, but yes, very expensive!
How long would a bottle last if you used it every day?

Whatwouldnanado · 16/04/2026 08:34

EL futurist and Laura Mercier. Lots of spf and natural finish

What is the coverage like on this ? I usually have really full coverage and I imagine this to be more like tinted moisturiser if you know what I mean

Is it easy to build up ? I would love to try it

TiredDinosaur · 16/04/2026 09:03

Currently using Fenty Soft Matte love Armani power fabric

Also LOVED urban decay all nighter until they discontinued 😭

I like full coverage

Sa11yCinnamon · 16/04/2026 09:03

I really rate the Dcypher custom shade. I've ordered twice now, both times the first one they've sent me has been a tiny bit off but the second one they send for free has been absolutely spot on.

I use that for 'full make up' and Erborian CC creme for every day, it's also excellent.

namechange0998776554799000 · 16/04/2026 09:17

I recently got Dcypher and the colour match was perfect. But at the same time I also got Nars light reflecting and the colour on that was perfect too. I actually made up my face with one on each half and I couldn't tell the difference!

I had previously been using Bobbi brown weightless skin and I'm really ambivalent about it - it feels really thick going on and the colour seems way too light, but once it settles it gives a really nice finish. I still haven't decided whether I prefer the Nars or Dcypher to it - they're both much lighter and go on much more nicely, but don't look quite as good by the end of the day

Poppingby · 16/04/2026 09:44

I'm using Jones Road what the foundation and I really like it. I would usually buy tinted moisturiser because I hate heavy stuff on my skin but this feels and looks light but provides excellent cover. And it smells nice.

Overwhelmedandtired · 16/04/2026 10:00

I really like Sculpted by Aimee for a good value foundation (and other make up). A few options of different coverage levels. My favourite so far is the second skin, but probably a coverage level below what you currently have. I find it covers well though without a too 'done up' look. There is a higher coverage option too. I haven't tried the cream cushion yet, thats a very different style to what you currently use though.
