Oh my word, I kind of wish I’d seen this. Being a broad shouldered average necked human (swimmers shoulders thank you very much haha) I really wonder about women being encouraged to disguise these features…as though there’s an ideal to attain? 👽 Martian bodied?

Stinkymalinkyfromdownthelane · 12/03/2026 08:02

I dont know if anyone's after the new linen Silk wrap top but there's one on vibted for £80 size XL

Just popping in to say I agree with the consensus on Anna, I really disliked what she said and how she said it … those poor women, I wonder if they get paid for appearing or whether they volunteer for it?

IlovePond · 12/03/2026 15:15

My impression @Barbellaishere - from looking at the expression on their faces - particularly Ari’s - was that they had been ‘told’ to do it by managers!

Also popping on to say I really didn't enjoy that Live. I couldn't watch all of it. That woman going on about all the body parts that needed correcting felt so dated and out of touch. I am stunned Toast have got involved with such a person. It felt very un-Toast like and the kinds of drivel you used to read in magazines in the 90s. How to make this body part look bigger, smaller, longer and so on - just urrghhhh.

Also thought the clothes were very uninspiring, which didn't help matters.

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 12/03/2026 16:17

I wouldn’t mind body comments if they were positive. ‘Look how this accentuates her waist!’ ‘This balances and brings out her figure’ ‘These really complement her eyes’. It was the focus on finding and trying to conceal faults that jarred. Also weirdly trying to adjust for ways in which the clothes didn’t actually suit the models, instead of dressing them in things which did.

CakeAndJazz · 12/03/2026 18:45

Just popped on to say there’s a Frankie winter coat in an L for just under £300 for sale at Uniform Research, if anyone might be interested.

Barbellaishere · 12/03/2026 19:48

@CakeAndJazzI came on to say the same thing! Quite a few bits of toast on there, sadly nothing for me as the prices are great!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 12/03/2026 20:52

Why am I suddenly having to put in a 6 digit code to look at my orders although I'm logged in 🤔

IlovePond · 13/03/2026 07:15

I like some of the Toast loungewear collection - particularly that checked skirt - but it’s so pricy. Their loungewear- whatever that is supposed to mean - used to be a bit ‘cheaper’’. Not any more!

I wonder if the lives are changing due to a changing market. I noticed they have just opened a store in LA. I could well be wrong but the last live was so in toast like.

ScottishMouse · 13/03/2026 11:21

If I didn’t like Toast clothes so much, I would give up buying them due to the inconsistent sizing. Ordered the soft black waistcoat and it arrived this morning. I have it in navy from last year, tried it on in store last week to make sure the sizing was the same this year, and went ahead and ordered that size. It is huge! At least two inches wider than my navy one. I had even taken the navy one to the store last week to measure it against the black one and they were the same. So inconsistency in sizing between two of the same item from the same drop in the same size. How are we ever supposed to figure it out Toast??

Popplebop · 13/03/2026 13:23

I have just received my order of the Gia sketched fruit print shirt and my placing of the dark grapes is fine. (I know the placing is random.) It is also cotton and not lyocell which I very much prefer and would not have ordered if it was lyocell. Though I don’t understand the pricing difference - sketched fruit is £125 and the lyocell script print is £165! Madness. Also thanks to the heads up about Uniform research sale - bought a Rains raincoat for under £30 so fantastic!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/03/2026 21:04

After my parcel spending a couple of days stuck in Swansea I finally received my tee shirt order.
I was disappointed that the blue button through tee didn’t really suit me, it pulled slightly across the bust and the sleeves were too long.
The porcelain green raglan tee fits well and is a good colour for me.
The Cleo mazarine tee is too small, if I’d read the reviews I would have sized up, but I probably won’t reorder as I thought the sleeves were an odd length. I do miss the Emma tees, nothing seems comparable.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/03/2026 21:14

@Popplebop I'm tempted by the fruit print shirt. Could you tell me what the sizing is like?

weareallcats · 13/03/2026 22:02

Checking in! I’ve just let go of a few of my jumpers on vinted - sad times but I’m never cold enough for a massive jumper these days! I have also picked up a velvet pinafore (Vinted) that I’m very happy with. Struggling a bit with the new stuff but probably not the fault of Toast - I am a dark and gloomy autumn/winter person to my core, so S/S never has much for me.

I got a very nice dress in the sale - the satin backed dress in the goldy green colour. Really useful and feels quite special.

Snowyowl78 · 14/03/2026 09:59

That’s very annoying @ScottishMouse will you get a change to go back to the shop?

the facebook page is being strange for me. It keeps putting that ISO the brown checked dress at the top then new things lower down!

im tempted by the cooks trousers but was hoping for more reviews about the sizing beforehand.

IlovePond · 14/03/2026 11:04

I’ve just realised that there’s no sign of a March mini sale. I am almost sure there was one last year???

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 14/03/2026 11:05

Getting to a shop isn’t a problem @Snowyowl78 but part of the reason I ordered online and didn't buy the one in the shop was because the one in the shop sat a bit oddly on one shoulder, like the seam was a little misshapen. I don’t know if I can be bothered trying again. Many of the things I have tried lately have not been finished to the standards I would expect at Toast price points, and I have had to reorder a couple of things I wanted to keep to get the perfect one. I also find, particularly with knitwear, that the sizing is so inconsistent, I have been known to order two knits in the same size to get the best fit - something length of width can different by a couple of inches.
I am pretty pernickety, but even so…

ScottishMouse · 14/03/2026 11:09

I’m marking next Thursday as a possible sale date based on the last few years @IlovePond. Last year it was Thurs 20th and the year before Thurs 21st. 🤞🏻

Snowyowl78 · 14/03/2026 11:27

@ScottishMouse was just coming to say the same thing about the sale! Wonder what kind of stuff will be in it

Snowyowl78 · 14/03/2026 11:31

Looks like last 2 years I bought menswear, a dress I then sold on Vinted and my favour jumper, flecky cashmere in thistle!

ScottishMouse · 14/03/2026 11:54

I think the March sale is usually what was left over/returned after the big winter sale. But maybe there will be an old gem or two. Sometimes have bought things in March that I didn’t me consider in the winter sale because they were too out of season then but now that spring is on the way they appeal more. I’m hoping for homeware and pyjamas but they seem to be like hen’s teeth the last few sales.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/03/2026 14:09

I bought a basket last year on the 20th, nothing else. I can also see I had a kindred gift at the beginning of March last year, but nothing this year with my last couple of orders.
