It’s so good, isn’t it @Stoic123? I used mine yesterday and it was great, sturdy and comfy straps and held all my junk in it.

ScottishMouse · 08/05/2026 17:21

This is a long shot, and posting here to catch anyone that isn’t on the fb selling group, but I am searching for one of these. It is a nightdress/slip in a dark grey viscose bamboo fabric with a scalloped edge at the top. It also came in a cami/vest version and in pink. Quite old now. I’m looking for either the vest or the nightdress version in grey in size small, or maybe medium, if someone has one languishing in a drawer and wants to sell it to me. Thanks!!

Another question while I’m here! Did anyone buy the Sturlini Danza pumps and has worn them in? Do they stretch much widthways? I have been obsessed with these since they first appeared, tried and decided too narrow for my wide feet, was sad when they sold out, but reordered last week when they came back into stock to try again. One of my feet is much bigger than the other. They are a good fit on my smaller foot but quite tight on the bigger one and I’d love to know how much they give. These would be an occasion shoe for me, as I am mostly in trainers or Blundstones due to very tricky feet, so I don’t need to be able to walk miles in them, but I would like them not to cripple me either. I realised when I had a funeral and a fancy work event in the same week last month that Blundstones and trainers don’t really cut it in those situations and I have nothing else.
Any intel gladly received, thanks!

A roomy but a bit smaller than expected size and the better for it. The bottom is much studier than expected - love that it stands up even when empty.

CoasttoToast · 08/05/2026 21:10

The Fish dress arrived in a 12 and fits better in the body but is very gappy at the top
Aaargh and now all sold out online
Plus Im a bit chubbier than usual due to illness and lack of exercise during said illness so I know it will shift again
Pants I dont know what to do !

The Fig dress is nice but HUGE
Gorgeous drapey ,silky cotton poplin so I didnt experience sticky out hips but the size 10 is too big for my upper end of 12 body , particlarly at the top where it billows over the waist when tied
So pondering ordering an 8

No further Kindred gifts but have had 2 magazines

faustina · 08/05/2026 21:33

@Stoic123 - that is a very splendid bag. I'm worried it'll sell out before I can justify another one.

Stoic123 · 09/05/2026 09:07

@faustina - could you buy then put away without touching till next summer so that you get the CPW up on the one you've just bought?

I think you'd be able to pick up elsewhere if it sells out at Toast and you still want it. The Finnish design shop has on for £82.50 (postage takes just above Toast cost) and can buy direct from Mifuko. Pre Brexit, no brainer to wait as postage/ease would have meant little difference.

faustina · 09/05/2026 09:57

Thank you @Stoic123 I'll have a think. I haven't quite decided what else I need this summer yet, for a combination of reasons. Very useful to know it's elsewhere if they do sell out.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 09/05/2026 14:12

I’m increasingly confused by toast's sizing recommendations - the navy seersucker shirt is recommended as L/XL and the market fish dress as an 8. I’m usually a M or 12 Confused
I guess I can’t go wrong with the woven basket though.

Bimblesalong · 09/05/2026 20:58

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I'm typically a 12/14 in tops in high street shops. However, I needed the fish top in a 16. The navy seersucker top was just right in a s/m though!

Yorkshirelass04 · 10/05/2026 20:06

I just wanted to update that the Harrogate kindred event was really great. The CEO wasn't there but we got a presentation from a stylist and met Evie the marketing manager. Lots of opportunity to feel and try the new stock and think about how it might work. I bought the denim jumpsuit, the cobalt blue trousers and tbe matching top, and the new striped blue and white shirt. All much nicer in real life. I wanted the fish top but needed to watch the pennies...

faustina · 11/05/2026 11:03

Update on the basket weaving workshop. I just had a reply from CS:

Our Production team have come back to say that the Round reed (approximately 2mm diameter) cut into 16 pieces of 10 inches and 2 pieces cut into 36-38 inches (or two full length reeds within the coil).

ToastCosILoveIt · 11/05/2026 11:35

@Yorkshirelass04 , thanks for the update on clothing and customer service, sounds like a lovely trip. By cobalt trousers, do you mean the poplin pull on ones? I have them in the dhal colour with the matching top, not worn yet but loving both. I also bought the top in the slate colour: I think I will get a lot of wear out of these tops.

I am on holiday at the moment where it is 20 degrees. I am wearing the paisley poplin dress. I know it had a mixed reaction here and on the website, but I love it, super comfy and cool and looks very stylish. The sash is barely big enough to wrap round and tie at the front but I think it looks good tied to the back in a bow.

I love the fish print dress and top, but sadly that colour does nothing for my complexion.

Countmeout · 11/05/2026 12:45

Thank you @Yorkshirelass04 . That sounds like a good event.

i ordered the warp dress. It’s going straight back. It is very light and would be good for a hot day but feels flimsy and dare I say it cheap. It’s very wide a bit like Beyond Nine if anyone has any of their dresses. Certainly it’s not worth the price tag. Very disappointing. I ordered the 10, you’d definitely need to size down.

ToastCosILoveIt · 11/05/2026 15:21

I’m wearing the Flower Mountain blue sandals today. The reviews about the straps being short are true. I’ve got slim feet and they only just do up. One of the straps is fixed too, running up the sides of the little toes. But they are very comfy, springy with a supported arch. For some reason Mumsnet isn’t letting me post a photo of my foot, says it’s a sensitive image….

triggers34 · 11/05/2026 18:37

😂@ToastCosILoveIt
I dug out my cobalt blue poplin shirt dress to wear . To my dismay it had a massive stain on the front - not sure how I’d missed it . I washed it straight away with a dose of vanish but sadly it didn’t come out . Onto chat GPT with photos - advice neat washing up liquid , massage in, leave overnight and wash again . To my surprise it worked !
maybe you all know this ?

IlovePond · 11/05/2026 18:53

Thanks @faustina - that already sounds too complicated for me 🙀

@triggers34 - I'd never heard of the washing up liquid trick before - that was a lucky break for you!!

@IlovePond I'm going to sit down and work it out tomorrow, but I have an idea it just means they sell them in coils, and that equals one of them.

IlovePond · 11/05/2026 19:00

Thanks, @faustina - I was the sort of child that went into a tail spin of panic when the teacher rattled off something like: ‘Draw two squares, 10 by 10 and two rectangles 8 by 4!’ There’s something about measurements that doesn’t agree with me 🙀

ScottishMouse · 11/05/2026 19:06

Washing up liquid is great for a stain @triggers34. I use it so often that my kids now know to take off their stained clothes and bring them to me with the fairy liquid bottle 😆 For a new stain, I don’t bother to leave it more than a few minutes, but good to know it will work on old stains with a bit more developing time.

IlovePond · 11/05/2026 19:09

I am definitely going to the sample sale on Friday at KC now, so will report back.

I placed a random large order today. Shopping for a sun holiday next month and I haven’t a clue what to buy as I have never been on a sun holiday. Due to a medical condition I am very intolerant to the heat but also don’t want to show a lot of flesh (both because I don’t love my menopausal body and because I am very pale and burn at the mention of sun). I also dread getting sunscreen stains on lovely fabrics. Which all leaves me in a total quandary so I have ordered randomly and probably not at all sensibly. At least my fracap sandals and my straw bag will work well.
Relatedly….anyone have good swimsuit tips? I really like Davy J but their stock in my size is pretty non-existent, I wonder if they are shutting down as it has been like that since last summer 🤔 Finisterre have also been good in the past but nothing this season is quite right.

I ordered the Cotton Linen Poplin Sleeveless Top in raven blue and am very pleased with it. I dithered because it’s stupidly expensive at the EU price, but if it suited me it would bring various skirts into play that need a short, fitted top for summer. Happily it does work. The armholes are cut sensibly and don’t show that distressing wobbly bit beside the boob. I bought a 12 for waist 72 cm, bust 96. Hope that’s useful to someone!
