Ooh @Snowyowl78 that jacket looks like a contender for me. Not black/grey/navy, but I can make that colour work I think. Thanks! I’ll be looking out for more later. I think they usually drip feed the new items in the day before they officially launch, often in the afternoon.

ToastCosILoveIt · 01/04/2026 08:49

@ScottishMousehopefully the link @snowyowlhas helpfully provided works? Yes, I see the brown jumpsuit now and a dress in a similar colour with and embroidered or elasticated waist. Unfortunately brown is a no go for me.

New things appearing…

MrsRadichio · 01/04/2026 17:17

Hello 👋
I’ve been lurking for a while but used to post a fair bit.
Posting now for a bit of advice - does anyone have the green cotton linen skirt that was recently in the sale? I’ve bought one second hand but it has arrived really creased. I will iron it but do prefer something easy to care for. Ironing isn’t my forte!
Does anyone have this and can comment on how easily it creases? As it has pleats currently these have partly fallen out so would need ironing ‘back in’. Not sure if it is worth the effort?

So I’m home and assessing sale buys.
Cashmere/wool roll neck. No. Feels nothing like my favourite jumpers and not for me.
Striped cotton roll neck , too tight on neck. Again nothing like the ones I have and love.
Cord apron dress, very disappointed, too long and just too much, quite stiff.
Quilted trousers a yes although despite going by measurements rather generous.
Reworn black pepper dress, not as big as I remembered- currently need to try styling it but I rather like it.

New drop. A couple of maybes for me but slightly appalled at the price of the cotton sleeveless top which is more expensive than the striped pinafore/sundress which I also like. Unfortunately it would go with quite a few of my things so I may have to justify it to myself.

MsDastardley · 02/04/2026 11:28

A couple more things have been added to new in this morning. I really like the Gelato linen dress, but it’s £315 which is ridiculous for a simple summer dress.

I may order a pair of barrel leg linen trousers as I do like the cords. There’s a few other pieces I like, but probably not enough to buy at full price.

Saurus72 · 02/04/2026 12:45

The prices seem to be inexplicable. £315 for both the contrast smocked cotton dress and the gelato dress. A comparative reasonable price of £165 for the pinafore dresses - love the fabric very much, need to try in store. I can’t see the reason for so much of a disparity.

I bought the blue crockery dress back in January and tried it on again the other day. Can’t wait to wear it, nicer than I remember it which is good!

I have to say I’m loving Cos this season - dresses with sleeves, though without pockets to be fair. Under £100. Jaeger at M&S looks pretty good too.

@TosstTastic I wonder if a guest co-presenter dropped out at the last minute. Bring back Nicki tho…

ScottishMouse · 02/04/2026 14:45

I went to a store this morning and love some of the new collection. I bought the cotton linen twill jacket in sand, which is just what I was looking for. It has a wide low sleeve opening which is good for my broad shoulders and bust. I liked the wider body shape of the L but it looked too big on the arms, my usual M looks lovely open and realistically I won’t ever wear it closed.
I also bought the pleated cotton stripe skirt in tomato, which is a joyous colour (and very bold for me!). The skirt is a great weight for now until autumn, and has lovely pleats which sit flat so it doesn’t look too much fabric over the hips like gathers sometimes do. I would have bought the blue instead/too but they didn’t have my size. I will be ordering that online. These will be workhorse skirts for me, and they are a little bit crinkled so can be thrown in a suitcase with no need for an iron. I also tried the matching shirt in the blue stripe and it is a great shape, but the colour was not good next to my face.
I almost bought the barrel leg linen trousers in oat as I’ve been looking for an off-white/ecru trouser for a while, but they were just a bit too sheer for comfort for me sadly. Lots of other things looked lovely, I like the colours in this drop a lot.

I could filled in. Ex TV presenter, loves clothing construction and the emotional joy that a good item can encourage.

Living the cottagecore life.

I must have missed their call!

Do you have strong opinions on short necks though @TosstTastic? Speaking of which that woman was featured in the telegraph the other day styling their fashion editor and guess what

@ScottishMouse the skirts look lovely - any sizing tips pls?

ScottishMouse · 02/04/2026 16:39

@Saurus72 I went for my usual S. I tend to be S in skirts and most elasticated trousers, sometimes M. Last year I needed M in the blue pleated cotton skirt, but S was the right size for the binding check. Maybe you have tried one of those so that might help.

I have recently been shopping with delicate teens whilst having the ghost of my own mothers voice in my head.
In 2026 we emerged triumphant with clothes for lectures, fun and work in their style. There's some really good labels doing 'new' retro stuff.
I did not point out, Mrs Bennett style, that I was once younger/thinner/more desirable/ with a shorter neck than my daughters. Not necessary!

I once took my kids to a steam punk hairdresser, where the current new retro shop is now. DD remembers. Clothes should, like a crazy hairdresser, should be fun, emotional embracing the positive rather than the normal disguising 'faults'.

faustina · 03/04/2026 11:27

Are we all queuing up for the Kindred styling sessions where we can have our necks (and other faults) professionally criticised in person by the scarf woman? I got my email about it this morning 😃

MiracleToast · 03/04/2026 15:30

@faustina 😂

AFingerofFudge · 03/04/2026 15:50

@faustina I am sure my crepey neck would be the talk of the styling session. I think a number of scarves would be recommended Grin

ScottishMouse · 03/04/2026 19:19

I cannot think what would be made of my neck @faustina. Short but also too wide for the rest of me, and with those awful horizontal rings that seem to be genetic as everyone in my family has them. I hate when the weather is hot and I cannot reasonably wear a scarf without looking crazy.

ScottishMouse · 03/04/2026 20:16

@Snowyowl78 I have eventually got around to listing my anthracite waistcoat on the fb group if you were interested. Not sure if you are on the fb group or not?

IlovePond · 03/04/2026 23:48

@faustina - I think I should do a tour of all of them 😹😹😹

Snowyowl78 · 04/04/2026 10:49

@ScottishMouse ah thank you for thinking of me. I’ve actually ordered the black one so I’ll wait and see if that works for me.

I like the blue stripe pyjamas in the new drop, although it’s annoying they have priced separately. Seems like they cost more than they would together.
also like the sleeveless tops with the buttons although bit worried they might be a bit cutaway around the armpit. I had to return the collage print top a while back for the same reason.

Countmeout · 04/04/2026 12:29

I have ordered the sleeveless top with the buttons @Snowyowl78 . It’s unlike to arrive until next weekend

Hope someone goes to the styling session and reports back. 😁

ToastSafeFromMothsAndDogs · 04/04/2026 12:54

Will be interested to hear about the shape of that sleeveless top
