Plouise - what fresh hell is this??

DD is 9 and came home from a party at the weekend talking about Plouise lip balms. I googled thinking I might get her some as her lips are very dry in winter but Confused they all say bad bitch on them? Shes 9! And judging by the pictures online of the Plouise Empire (ie the shop) she’s actually on the older end of their target demographic.

I feel very old.

Really not, I did P Louise make up courses and most doing them were my age no one young was in there.

GreaterCassowary · 09/02/2026 14:22

I have an almost 11 year old niece who loves PLouise, apparently it's big amongst that age group. I didn't know about the lip balms though and certainly wouldn't buy her that! Having looked at the website, they definitely don't seem to be aimed at adults.

Viviennemary · 09/02/2026 15:06

Seems like a clever marketing scam to me. I wouldn't encourage my child to jump on this particular bandwagon.

LightYearsAgo · 09/02/2026 15:08

Luckily I don't have a child in their demographic but I'm seen so much bad press on SM over the last probably 6 months, maybe more, that I'd steer well clear

So there is a just turned 12 year old ‘influencer’ in Liverpool whose name is Lacey.
P.Louise ‘gatecrashed, her 12th birthday party. I think I am living on a different planet.

It might not have been aimed at kids initially, but they are now its core market and the brand is primarily marketed towards kids now. They recently sponsored a huge 'birthday party' event for an 11-year-old influencer.

Favouritefruits · 09/02/2026 16:36

I saw these and asked my 16 year old niece if she’d like some for Xmas, she told me they are for children not her age group and she would like Clinique!!!! At 9 im sure I just had crappy Woolworths children’s makeup sets in the shape of a heart 😂

MouldyCandy · 09/02/2026 16:45

I feel the same as you OP.
I just bought a Bad B set, unboxed it and gave the individual products to DD.

Having said that, DD prefers Maybelline Baby Lips for her dry lips.

Tablesandchairs23 · 09/02/2026 17:02

Plouise is a load of shite.

BeardofHagrid · 09/02/2026 17:23

I keep seeing Plouise mentioned on people’s instagram stories, no idea who she is tbh 🤷‍♀️

BeardofHagrid · 09/02/2026 17:24

She’s a scammer apparently

The price, for things aimed at kiddwinks. Really?! 😯

They seem to have loads and loads of stuff that is mysteriously very heavily discounted from (for example) £22 down to £5, which makes me suspect that the £22 price was never really the genuine price and that it's just there to make people think they getting a huge bargain when they pay £5. A bit like furniture shops that are permanently claiming to have a sale on for all their products.

I teach year 4 and for a couple of years now, half the girls in every class are obsessed with it. One of them once used some bad bitch packaging to make a volcano for her homework 🙈

Yep, cheapo aliexpress tut.

youalright · 09/02/2026 18:17

Definitely aimed at pre teen and teen girls i hate the brand its expensive and nothing special. Don't ever buy the surprise boxes they send the influencers on tiktok really good ones with loads in and everyone else there actual paying customers basically empty boxes with a couple of pieces of old stock.

AppropriateAdult · 09/02/2026 18:28

I just saw the title and assumed it was another Baby Names thread… “Meet our darling twinnies, Plouise and Balonz!”

Kookykoala · 09/02/2026 18:31

Urgh PLouise is wild in my daughters class … yes the bad bitch energy range 😩 my daughters year 5 managed to avoid it in year 4 but her xmas list was full of it this year. It costs a fortune too !

upstairsdownstairscardboardbox · 09/02/2026 18:42

She's recently started hosting events that are most akin to "The Willy Wonka Experience" by all accounts. There was one at the Trafford centre at Xmas and now this latest bday party debacle. She seems to have started very ethically btu descended into a cash grab.
