Yes that dress is stunning.

Comefromaway · 04/02/2026 10:59

For some reason my tik tok feed has been flooded with MOB boutiques and very expensive dresses. This dress is far, far nicer than the £600 dresses they are advertising.

RMAC67 · 04/02/2026 11:12

Gorgeous dress!
I’d go for a nude/pale pink court shoe.

Poodlelove · 04/02/2026 19:44

I think it is lovely and was also going to buy that dress , but instead I chose this from Lipsy / Next

Is this ok for MOB?

I also think it’s lovely but I’d go nude shoes and nude bag, I really dislike matchy matchy and find it quite dated.

Nude and nude is 'matchy matchy'!

Lovely dress.

Dint wear navy shoes, that will date the look. Wear something brighter and do not match your bag. Also no hat or <shudder> fascinator, which are both dated.

Hats aren't dated; fascinators were always hideous....very minor royal/overdressed rather than style.

I think hats are dated. Every wedding I’ve been to over the last few years (and some of them were v posh and stylish ones), there has been a noticeable absence of hats and absolutely none on the younger women. Only a very small number of oldish women wearing them.

Oh, hats for weddings; I thought you meant generally. Yes, most wedding hats are sorry affairs.

That's a lovely dress. Classic style. Would be entirely suitable.

dancingkween · 05/02/2026 15:51

Unfortunately it's back to the drawing board for me. I bought the petite dress due to the length (and my lack of height) but as I said it was still a little long. A local tailor has said that while she could shorten it, it would spoil the pattern so I'm going to send it back and keep looking.

Sorry to hear that. (Although feeling weirdly proud that I was the one who predicted this issue!)

I like the Lipsy one that @Poodlelove has posted.

What a strange comment!

Could you get a second opinion on the tailoring if you really like it?

It's years ago but I got a dress altered for my best friend's wedding (patterned not as much as yours).

Dress maker split in two. Took lenght off the bottom of the torso and then took the shirt part up from the top and narrow it along the side.

I ended up with a two piece but it didn't look like seperate parts when wearing it.

It did cost a small fortune though.

Not a seamstress so it might be a really bad suggestion but just posting in case it's worth exploring.

That's a possibility I hadn't thought of, thank you. I'll look into it.
