Removing pubic hair

bluedabadeedabadoo · 05/01/2026 11:52

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

Yes.
Why on earth does anyone want to remove it all? So much risk of infection plus the cost and effort.
Also means you end up with a fanny like a child.
It’s all bloody porn driven.
Leave your poor pubes alone.

Calm down.

Women are free to shave their pubes whenever they want. It's a free country. Also, no woman I know is doing it for a man, it's nothing do with porn, and it's nothing to do with the patriarchy! Women do it because it feels good, they prefer it, and sex is better with no pubic hair. It's great with it, but even better without it!

And you need to have a word with yourself if you think an adult WOMAN will look like a child if she shaves her pubic hair off. You AND the others who are saying it! There are always a few posters who come out with this repugnant comment, and they think they're soooooooooooooo original saying it? 🙄

Mind your own business. If I want to shave my minge I will. As I said, sex is better with it, especially oral. Give it a go. Rather than judging people who do it, and making vile and derogatory comments. (You might enjoy it.... No, actually, you WILL enjoy it!) Wink

Because if has nothing to do with genitalia- what a ridiculous comparison.

No, its comparing body hair and lack thereof to children. Why are only bald genitals child like but lack of hair in other naturally hairy places (legs, underarms, heads, men's faces) not considered childlike? Its highlighting the double standard.

This.

Some lesbian women remove their hair too. It’s not all about the male gaze.

If you want to remove hair, that’s fine, there are various products and services available to you. If you want to retain your hair that’s fine too, there’s nothing to do. But the OP’s post was about removal not asking about removal or retention.

Never once have I heard a bald headed man be compared to a baby, despite the almost identical haircuts.

Yep. Good analogy!

No this is not the point- it is about comparing something else to children’s gentila- which is obviously not the same as any other part of their body .

She’ll have to remove the stick from her arse first before she can enjoy it.

You're being deliberately obtuse.

Why is it only the removal of genital hair that results in childlike appearance, and not the removal of hair in any other place? The comparison is gross, and your arguement doesn't carry anywhere else where there is natural hair growth.

You dont describe a man shaved facial hair as a childs face, nor a woman's shaved armpit and a child's armpit.

Ugh- if is not about child like appearance . I don’t know how you are failing to grasp this over and over again. If is about looking like children’s genitalia .

Does a shaved armpit look like a child's armpit?

Does a man's shaved face look like a child's face?

Does a shaved head look like a child's head?

Does a shaved leg look like a child's head?

If not, why not?

Why does this only apply to genitals?

Why is it about that and not about a woman's choice over her own body for many many reasons highlighted on this thread. None of which have included disgustingly to make their genitals look childlike like you and others keep grossly suggesting.

One of us is missing the point, and it's not me.

Change the damn record. Grown adults who have no pubic hair do not resemble childlike genitalia. It is a rather disturbing thing to keep bringing up.

It is. It's very disturbing. It never enters my mind when I want to have a shaved/bald pubic area (or if anyone else says they have it,) to compare the look to that of a child. Strange that this is where some peoples minds go.

Go figure.... 🤔

As some posters have said, these people saying a grown woman looks like a child if she has a shaved/bald pubic area need to have a word with themselves. It's a bit of a weird thing to say, and they are spectacularly wrong.

Why are we even engaging with these posters? 😂 They're batshit!

They belong in the loony bin. Something very creepy associating grown women with children.

I don’t think they do btw. I was just pointing out the difference to someone who couldn’t understand why looking like a child’s genitals might be more contentious than having a bald head and looking like a baby.

But NO adult genitalia looks like a child’s genitalia AT ALL with or without pubic hair. It isn’t contentious because it’s simply not true.

If a person loses their pubic hair to illness should they have Hard of Thinking women on Mumsnet tell them they look like children? Would that be okay?

If I’m not allowed to say women with unkempt pubic hair look like scrubbers who take no pride in their appearance then why is it okay to say my Fanny looks like a child’s? Not is it?

BigButtons · 08/01/2026 16:56

You still don’t understand. It IS contentious to say that is does/ it is not contentious to say a man has a bald head like a baby.

Strong agree. I just had a Hollywood, and I feel so smooth. I feel more attractive without public hair, and sex definitely feels better (and for both people too!) win win.

100% and no chances of hairs getting pulled etc

I choose to remove my hair, call me ugly if you like l can live with that. Maybe l might think you are ugly. But not relevant, some people have lost their hair for medical non elective reasons including chemo. How dare you call them ugly or decide that you are capable of telling one from the other.

That's my point, it's very rude. Hence a PP shouldn't have described bikini line pubes as ugly.
