Removing pubic hair

bluedabadeedabadoo · 05/01/2026 11:52

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

That's been suggested numerous times on this thread.
Old joke.

To some people, maybe. Since I've had both a vagina and a vulva for 53 years and this is the first I've heard of it, I'm guessing it's either a regional or an internet thing.

Agree. It's also the height of misogynism as it implies an insult towards women with pubic hair.

Edited

I don’t see how it is implies an insult to those with pubic hair? Is this the same for clean shaved men vs men with beards and also re women with leg hair/ armpit hair bs those without it? Why does it need to be about misogynism and it can’t just be about a women’s personal choice and right to make decisions about her own body?

Is dying your hair an insult to your natural colour?

On any posts about pubic hair, posters can't help voicing their opinion on anyone who chooses to trim or remove it. Despite no one asking.

Yep!

And going to the hairdressers is itself is in defiance of your body’s natural appearance.

StarlightLady · 08/01/2026 10:38

Oh, l am such a traitor to the natural cause today. Day off work, Hollywood wax at 12:15, and already booked in for next one in February, nails at 3:00 and hairdresser at 4:00. And l will feel better for it.

l will be available for name calling and insults for inspection from 6:00 onwards.

You traitor you! How dare you exercise free will and make all these changes to your body because it makes YOU feel happier and more comfortable.

I remove all hair from my body except my head. My sexual partner removes all hair from his pubic area. It’s what we both prefer generally and is better for the type of sex we often have.

I will always prefer to remove my pubic hair because it’s what I want and as an added bonus it’s what the man who has his face in close proximity to my vulva and arse prefers. And since I quite like what he happens to be doing whilst he is down there then I will comply. And since he does the same for me it’s really not that big of a deal. We’ll continue going about our sex lives in the way we have been doing and you who like to keep banging on about societal expectations/misogyny /patriarchy can carry on arguing about it and trying to belittle other women who think differently to make yourselves feel better.

It's the use of the word 'growler'. Not the fact women have or don't have pubic hair but the criticism it implies.

A 'growler' is not a compliment however it's used - whether about someone's voice, behaviour, or a woman's hairy pubic area. I'd never even heard of it and I'm pretty well 'educated' on stuff like this.

Even delving into the depths of my imagination I cannot see any connection between a verb (to growl) and a woman's pubes. Unless the inference is that hair is scary and go there if you dare.

It's clearly a word used by men to belittle women who prefer not to shave their pubic hair and imply that hair is unpleasant.

Women, as far as I know, don't have a derogatory word for men who keep their pubic hair.

I believe that comment was about the use of the word „growler“. But I could be wrong…

bluedabadeedabadoo · 08/01/2026 11:40

@PumpkinsAndCoconuts @YetAnotherWannabeWriterAhh oh well if that’s the case I stand corrected. I thought it was another post slating women for deciding to remove pubic hair and due to so many posts hadn’t noticed it was part of the growler posts.

Why not just leave it alone? Save time, money, angst and risk of infection.

Because it’s ugly? Some people go swimming a lot or wear half decent underwear and don’t want spiders legs poking out.

See this is what causes the bunfights - keep it or remove it, but don't judge and then object when people judge back.

PeonyPatch · 08/01/2026 12:07

I get monthly waxes. It makes me feel good.
Hollywood as well…. Part of my maintenance/self care

Cherrytree86 · 08/01/2026 12:18

YetAnotherWannabeWriter · 07/01/2026 13:33

I'm wincing at the thought of shaving a vagina.

Do you put a razor up there or cream? Or wax???

More seriously most men don't care a jot, as long as they can access one.

I've never seen a hairy penis- have you?

Edited

@YetAnotherWannabeWriter

no I haven’t! But I’d want it shaved or waxed if it was!

that’s just her opinion though, which she is entitled to have.

I think a big hairy growler looks a bit grim tbh. It's like having a hairy crack. 🤣

You need to tuck your misogyny in, it's on full display right now.

So I'd be entitled to say that her bald pubis looks ugly then?

dreamiesformolly · 08/01/2026 13:22

JustMyView13 · 05/01/2026 16:03

Firm agree.
Never once have I heard a bald headed man be compared to a baby, despite the almost identical haircuts.

Oh, come on. That's not the same thing at all, and you know it.

It’s not the same thing but I think what the poster is getting at, is why are people using a comparison? You can’t compare apples with pears.

Because if has nothing to do with genitalia- what a ridiculous comparison.
