SOTD Oriana by PDM. Hoping the PDM countdown calendar lands today! Doesn't have the oriana in but has palatine, Delina Exclusif plus some other new ones to try.

Big shout out and a bunch of flowers to Diptyque CS. All sorted with a full refund in less than 24 hours and I get to keep the unbroken bits (once I’ve removed the glass fragments) 💐

SOTMorning is Phlur Father Figure. With fresh snow outside and a quiet work-from-home day, this felt like the perfect choice. Soft, gentle and never overpowering, it’s ideal when the focus is on keeping things calm, especially while caring for an injured pooch and keeping her warm and comfortable 🤍

No. I will divide into sell/ keep/ maybe and possibly ration the ones I am keeping to one a day.

Its landed-joy- am at work so my trusty 'goods receivable ' manager Mr. Rainbows has signed for it, ready for when I return.

Shame it didn't stay like that - I like the sound of toasted honeyed nuts and rhubarb! Might not like it in reality, of course. I've never heard of it.

I've bought a couple of Merchant of Venice perfumes plus blast from the past Shalimar in the sales. I don't really remember what Shalimar was like back in the day, so I'm not disappointed with the reformulation.

SOTD is Ministry of Oud Greatest. I've had this almost four years and it's not been stored in the dark so I'm trying to use it before it goes off. I still really love it in winter.

I expected more citrus tbh. Im new to fragrance so probably down to me not fully understanding fragrance but I do think its quite masculine. I do like masculine scents as long as not too heavy.
I do agree its too heavy for summer, for me anyway. 2 sprays definitely enough. Too expensive to have to scrub off. 🤣

PDM set arrived and opened. It's a really good deal considering it's not much more than the price of 1 x full size bottle.

Have listed the delina, body lotons and candle. Also the case thing which is useful but if I get some money for it I would rather.

Kept the set of 3x 10ml and 4 x 5ml. Some new scents I will try, delina la rosee, meliora, palatine. Already tried Althair which is a lovely rich gourmand. Plus there was a random hanging ornament thing which doesn't smell, but goes well on my pinboard.

All in all happy with this set and bought it in the nick of time it seems.

We’ve got some worrying days ahead. She’s having emergency surgery on Thursday 😔 We’re keeping everything crossed that it goes well, otherwise leg amputation may be the only option 😭
She’s acting like she's a puppy again though, jumping and running around, completely unaware, which I think means the pain meds are doing their job 🙈 But I'm running around after her, trying to stop her 😳 I've got indoor and outdoor pens on the way to hopefully restrict her from bouncing about.

The recovery time for her is 8-10 weeks so I’ll need to be at home with her a lot over the coming months. So my cosy, comforting amber and vanilla perfumes will be getting plenty of use.

After such a lovely New Year at Disneyland, this really wasn’t how I imagined starting 2026 😕

I've already got my husband trying to steal the case off me for the ones he received in the escentuals box 🙈 I couldn't believe the price of it, but the magnetic lid is very satisfying 🤣

My only criticism of the calendar is that I think it should've had the delina hair perfume and the delina shower gel in too. I'm not sure what I'd want them to remove though 🤣 All of the perfumes are gorgeous 😍

I'm happy without those, not into hair perfume and shower gel always seems a waste as washes straight off.

My only wish would have been for an Oriana 10ml in there. I'm not sure I'll like the valaya, but I will check out reviews and can always sell it if its not my thing.

I bought the hair perfume so for me, that would've been good to have in the calendar. I also bought a 10ml oriana and then the full size off vinted so having a 10ml in would've also saved me some money 🤣 I'm not too fussed about the candle so the hair perfume could've gone in that drawer 🤔 I agree though, it's a gorgeous calendar and great value 🥰 (even if I did get grinchy when selfridges reduced it 🤣). I can see myself buying a few of the others full size. Valaya is nice, I've worn it a few times, I've yet to try the Exclusif and see how they compare. I may need to test them all tomorrow 😊

How would you describe it? Reviews suggest its a 'clean' scent a bit like a blanche but with more to it? Or a gypsy water? I dont mind laundry scents but I wouldn't say they are my thing. Although Alto Astral is Aldehydic and I like that.
Original delina was nice but the exclusif knocked it out of the park. The valaya exclusif looks more up my street, there's a small one of those. Maybe i'll start with that.

I don't really like laundry scents either, so I wouldn't say meliora is like that. I could be completely wrong though, I'm not great with notes etc, I just find that perfumes seem to transport me somewhere.

To me, Meliora is light, fresh, but with a floral and fruity twist and makes me think of a gorgeous spring day where there's still a slight chill in the air, but the daffodils are arriving and the lambs are starting to dance in the fields 🥰 There's a golden feel about it and it's feminine but not girly. I think it's just bright and happy and makes you feel good without it overpowering everything 💛

Probably doesn't tell you much, but hopefully you'll try it and like it too 🌼🌸 and I'm probably seriously wrong about it 🤣🤣

I tried the Valaya Exclusif. I dont hate it, but it's not for me. Its got a strange, pungent note I can't put my finger on.

The Valaya is 10ml so a bit of a gamble when I can sell it for £30 at least. Hmm I think I'll put it in the limbo pile for now.

The valaya note reminds me of Faces of Francis by Vilhelm, just this one note that's in both of them as the fragrances themselves are not similar. I wonder what it could be. I didn't hate FoF but it wasn't a love either.

Oops sorry, I did mention meliora but must've deleted that. I felt like I started claiming each one as a love 🤣🤣

I like Valaya, it's very peaceful, reminds me of a wintery walk. It is clean and fresh, but it's softened with warmth and comfort, like being all wrapped up 🤍 it's just feels peaceful and quietly beautiful. Sorry, probably doesn't help too much either 🤣 It's not as strong, sweet or feminine as delina or oriana but it is very elegant.

Tried the valaya exclusif again and it's grown on me, although I'm not sure it will be a love. May need to calm down wearing perfume in the 'big' office as got a not so positive comment from someone saying it was too strong. The girls in the 'little' office where I mainly work are co-conspirators and enjoy a good spritz or two so I'm safe there although I do check that they are ok it.

Delina Exclusif today - this is possibly the first rose perfume I've ever really really liked. I will try the delina la rosee from the set maybe tonight, see if that is also one I get on with.

SOTD is Vanille Nue again, there's only 2ml left in the bottle and I'm determined to finish it!

I did a bit of a post-Christmas stocktake, and current inventory is:

• 5 full bottles
• 2 10ml travel sprays
• 35 samples/decants

So my 2026 commitment is to use up at least 1 full bottle and make a serious dent in my samples without buying anything new. If I can do that by Spring, I'll treat myself to a refill of Philosykos, but for now anything new is going on my wishlist, not in my basket!

SOTMorning is Dedcool Taunt. A nice amber vanilla combo, again perfect for these chilly, wintery days whilst I'm wfh. I'm glad SNK included a FS bottle in the FAC. I think I'll be using this a lot whilst I'm looking after the pooch, it's calm, quiet and comforting. I'll save my 'posher' vanillas and ambers for when I'm going out 🧡

Office day, mon gurlain for me. I love it

Penhaligon’s Empressa today. Similar to Coco Mademoiselle, but without the longevity. It’s nice, but wouldn’t buy.
Enjoying using up all these little samples.
