Everyone welcome to chat about beauty and/or share bargain finds.

Just opened the 15ml of Valmont face cream from the Harrods AC that's worth something crazy like £700 for a full size.

Slightly thicker, buttery texture and a mild pleasant scent. I do feel like winged angels should have appeared or something. I don't know what else to say - it seems nice so far. 😂Just using it on an evening 15ml will probably last around 10 days give or take, so I'll give my final verdict in the empties thread.

@OvaHere I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the Valmont cream.

Re dermatologica I am currently using a serum from the brand which I think was in the 2024 John Lewis advent calendar. I very much like it and feel like it has made a difference to my skin. I have quite a few serums to get through before I would consider re purchasing though. This is what I really like about advent calendars though, they have given me the opportunity to try brands I wouldn't have previously.

Thelifeofawife · 12/01/2026 01:18

@OvaHere Ooh, I’ve got that one to open at some point, so will look forward to your final verdict.

@Evergreen21 I’ve repurchased the Dermalogica serum a few times since trying it from the JL BAC. For me it’s the best one I’ve used. I also really like the Medik8 Tetra-C which is a bit cheaper.
I’m working my way through a few others now from more recent edits/BAC, but I have another Dermalogica waiting in my stash

JoRaRaRa · 12/01/2026 07:14

@OvaHere oooo the golly gosh how posh cream 😍 I can't wait to try it! Would you say its thicker then the AB rich cream?

I've not tried much of dermalogica to be honest. I got a moisturiser in an AC (maybe JL) 2 or 3 years ago, and I wasn't keen on that, in fact, I threw the rest of it out a few weeks ago as its been open for years. I received a toning mist last year, that was nice but nothing special. And I had a precleanse one year which I really liked but couldn't justify rebuying. I do have a large cleansing gel to use in my drawer, which I'll go to next after using the cleansing gelee from the SNK ac. I like to get rid of the bigger bottles first 😁 which sometimes really messes up the order.

Is anyone buying the new Patrick Ta blushers? I went to buy them and then they slapped on import fees. I'll just wait until CB get them in and then at least I can collect points on them. I thought I could pass them to my husband to wrap for me for my birthday 🥳

CorneliaStreet · 12/01/2026 07:14

I loved that Dermalogica vitamin C serum from the JL calendar too. One of the few serums I’ve used that made a noticeable visible difference to my skin (the other being the Sunday Riley lactic acid version of Good Genes).

I've been using the Valmont on & off since I got it in the calendar. I really like it and save it for when I feel like my skin needs a treat. I'd like a bigger pot but wouldn't pay full price!

pinkchampagne1 · 12/01/2026 07:40

I am excited to try my Valmont cream and have just bought a second pot for £20 on Vinted. It has to be pretty special cream to justify the price tag so I am expecting it to be a miracle moisturiser! 😁

I'd really like my current moisturiser to be done with now so I can start on the valmont 🤣 I bought more ubeauty on vinted the other night (for £10), along with the Evidens special mask, skincycles lip balm (big love for this) and shiseido moisturiser, all for £47. Like I needed anymore stuff 🙈

namechange0998776554799000 · 12/01/2026 08:01

I was also inspired by all of you to finally try the tatcha indigo overnight cream from the Harrods BAC. Annoyingly I really love it and so now am trying to resist a Tatcha order to get the lucky bag too. I think I need to hide this thread!

I think if you really love it and are going to end up buying a FS anyway, you might as well buy it when the lucky bag is on 💁🏻‍♀️

MrsBnow12 · 12/01/2026 08:12

I was going to say the same thing as @JoRaRaRa, Tatcha have historically only offered the Lucky Bags once a year and the £100 one includes a 15ml indigo overnight cream.
If you are a new subscriber and can get the 15% off code the set mentioned earlier is a great buy and you can keep or sell the extra bits.

Wow, all that for £47! Was it all from the same seller?
I need to ban myself from Vinted as I still keep looking (and buying) when I can barely shut my dressing table drawers due to my stash. But hey, there is always the alcohol cupboard if I run out of space! 😂

OvaHere · 12/01/2026 08:27

@JoRaRaRa the Valmont cream is a different texture to AB Rich Cream. I need to use it a few more times to know what I think of it. Although it doesn't really matter what I think of it as I won't be buying it and I doubt anyone else will be beyond hoovering up the remaining BAC ones from Vinted. 😂

Ooh I am so tempted by that next edit. I've already got the Iconic setting spray, nail varnish and dr paw paw lip balm. But I really want the perfume, EA cream and the olaplex oil. I'd like to give the Dermalogica cream a try too. Aargh I'm supposed to be reining it in in January (and already failing miserably). I do actually have a spreadsheet of my stash, and can confirm that it hasn't stopped me from overspending on beauty products.

BakeOffRewatch · 12/01/2026 08:55

Wooow that Dermalogica serum from the John Lewis 2024 BAC is pricey £96 for 30ml https://www.johnlewis.com/dermalogica-biolumin-c-serum/p3551051

I do find the pricier actives are worth the money unfortunately. The Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Acid transformed my face, I only had a teeny 5ml which lasted ages. Can’t remember what edit it came in. It’s £265 for 30ml. 10ml is £85.

Don’t think cleansers and moisturisers are worth a similar increase in price, but I am interested in @OvaHere’s review of the £700 Harrods BAC cream!

namechange0998776554799000 · 12/01/2026 09:25

Ok I'm going for the Tatcha lucky bag then. I'll probably get the bundle @Nospecialcharactersplease got as it's a great deal, unless there are any other particular Tatcha products anyone would recommend? I've only tried the indigo cream so far.

In the meantime I've also been influenced by you all to buy the Evidens mask from Vinted, as that's the thing from the BAC I love the most and would definitely rebuy.

I didn't know about creating bundles on Vinted until now, it's such a great way of knowing you're getting genuine items (when you find someone selling all their unwanted items from a BAC) and potentially so much cheaper than buying separately. I wish I'd thought of this closer to Christmas, as now no one has the particular combination of items I want left 😆

Hicupping · 12/01/2026 09:31

I really like the beauty drop, this is my favourite so far since I joined. And 6 items too. Spoilers on this link https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/features/beauty/liberty-beauty-drop-subscription-box.html

Definitely a good way to pick stuff up esp near Xmas. I sold my Evidens mask on Vinted - probably to one of you lot. 😂

🤣🤣 Exactly!!

Yep, all the from the same seller. I went on and I'd recently searched the ubeauty Resurfacing compound so that came up as +1, so I went to look at the new listing and she'd uploaded a load of stuff from the calendar. I had to really stop myself from buying everything 🙈 I also need to stop buying from there. I'm hoping to do a no buy week, but if CB get the new Patrick ta blushers in, then that plan is going out of the window 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

It's not a bad box but I'm not hugely excited. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep Beauty Drop into 2027.

I will keep on for now but as @IDontHateRainbows said on the Liberty thread the main benefits are the discounts on kits and members week stuff. I originally started it to save for the BAC which I diligently did but then didn't like the BAC enough to buy it.

I'll reassess how I feel at the end of this year. I would really love to have a Liberty AC one year as the box is always lovely but in the two years I've been stalking BACs I've not liked the contents enough.

I didn't know about the bundles either until I was selling stuff from my spacenk ac and people would buy bundles. Mine was set for a 20% discount if people bought 5 things 🙈 I was like 'no no no no no' 🤣🤣 Vinted did me over there as I'd already set my prices as the cheapest 😮‍💨

JoRaRaRa · 12/01/2026 10:29

@OvaHere I've joined it to save for the calendar too, but there were only a few things in the recent one that I wanted to try. I'm going to wait until the AC contents are released, which is usually quite early, and then decide if to continue or cancel and spend my credit.

I have mine set like that but I'm fine with big discounts for a big bundle as by the time I've made the decision to list on Vinted I mostly want it gone.

I do have limits so if someone tries to offer 50% less within 5 mins of listing on a singular popular item I know will sell anyway then I turn those down.

I find there's generally a 1-2 day window with Vinted from when you list stuff and it having some traction. A lot of the time anything that doesn't sell in that period can linger for a few weeks so I'm definitely happy for offers on anything that's been listed for more than a week.

You can choose the fragrance which is really good.
I did get to checkout but then stopped myself. I only wanted the dermalogica and have way too much stuff and loads of other lotions, potions, etc. 🥰

Doglover73 · 12/01/2026 10:49

@BakeOffRewatch
Cleansers are worth the extra for me. Its just hard finding the right ones, and costly. My skin tends to respond well at first then not so much. Meno, rosacea, combination skin. X
