Boots Skincare Advent Calendar opening thread

This thread is for those of us who have the Boots Skincare Advent. I know some of the threads have rules (or requests) not to post spoilers before 7am. I'm not bothered about that but if others would prefer we did include that request, we can.

Now the countdown...

Very pleased with today's HA. I haven't tried this but looks good.

I’m pleased with today’s too. Although I have quite a few serums to get through!

Same here although I did recently finish the never ending serum by putting it on my arms as well as my face.

I always bring my skin care all the way down my neck and chest. So I get through them fairly quickly.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/12/2025 13:32

So do I but this one was huge and spread really well so it lasted forever. It was COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL 96 Mucin Power Essence Gel and had 100ml in it.

Peridot1 · 18/12/2025 15:23

Ah. Well at least you managed to use it. I had the Cosrx snail mucin moisturiser and wasn’t keen so that seemed to take ages too.

Roundaboot · 18/12/2025 15:25

It's a lovely serum. I opened it a few weeks ago and have been using it since. It's quite watery but feels very gentle and moisturizing, especially when paired with the rice water toner.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 18/12/2025 16:30

I wasn't a fan of the serum either @Peridot1

They definitely seem to last longer when you don't like them.

Like most things in life!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 19/12/2025 09:46

I suspect I will be using this one as a body cream. Cetaphil is not a brand I've used before but generally anything designed for very dry skin is too heavy for my face.

It’s not an overly exciting product but I’ll use it. My skin is quite dry and sensitive especially in winter.

Peridot1 · 20/12/2025 16:03

Lip mask this morning. Might add to donation pile as I have quite a few few.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 20/12/2025 16:46

I'm not sure what a lip mask does vs lip balm but I suspect I will be donating too. It's pretty packaging though.

My inner teenager was very excited by this one! The pot! The little spoon! I also have about a million lip balm in my stash but I think I'll use this one first

I used it last night as my lips were really sore and chapped from being out in the cold and this morning they feel fine again. I’m a fan. It wasn’t too sticky like some products I’ve used.

Peridot1 · 21/12/2025 08:57

That’s good @Keffert. Maybe I’ll hanger on to it. It doesn’t exactly take up much space after all! I currently have a Laniege lip mask on the go by my bed which I like. Plus a Tatcha one where I sit to watch tv. Plus various other lip balms in various places! And I just bought a Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Oil to replace one which is almost done and I do really like. It’s probably my favourite.

Peridot1 · 21/12/2025 08:59

Boots Salicylic cleanser this morning. Might be a bit much for my skin.

That's good to know. I might hang on to it then.

I tend to just use cleansing balms and micellar water so it's probably a donate for me.

It’s one I might use in the shower. Actually probably good as a body wash if not a facial one.

I'm a bar of soap woman.

OP posts:

I’m both. I went through a soap phase and bought loads. Slowly working my way through it all. But I somehow seem to end up with shower gels too. So I alternate. I figure the salicylic acid face wash might be helpful with those little lumps and bumps on arms etc.

I usually use soap but had a lot of shower gels to get through from advent last year so have started to double cleanse my body. One wash with shower gel one with soap. One of the dds will probably have this facial wash though.

Just a word of warning not to get the cleanser anywhere near your eyes as it stings so bad!! It's a nice cleanser & actually pretty gentle but I tend to use on my neck and arms as pp suggested 👍
