Boots Skincare Advent Calendar opening thread

OchonAgusOchonOh · 30/11/2025 16:41

This thread is for those of us who have the Boots Skincare Advent. I know some of the threads have rules (or requests) not to post spoilers before 7am. I'm not bothered about that but if others would prefer we did include that request, we can.

Now the countdown...

Yeah, another dod for me. I'll donate as none of the dc have need of them anymore.

Oh dear, I thought today was the 12th so opened wrong door. I'll open 11th tomorrow. I wondered when you mentioned pimple patches 🤣 - tomorrow is going to be rubbish for me but for you guys opening the correct door, you'll love it I'm sure.

Peridot1 · 12/12/2025 08:35

Oh dear @hairypaws!

Pixi hydrating milky toner today. Have used before and liked it. I used when I’d gone a bit gung ho on glycolic acid and retinol and my face was not happy. This, a barrier repair serum and CeraVe sorted me out.

It is a bit similar to Day one I suppose for some but I’m happy with it.

Keffert · 12/12/2025 09:20

I’m pleased with today too. I bought this calendar to stock up on essentials so I’m not too worried about it being exciting. The spot patches and gradual tan have been DOD’s for me but dd will use the spot patches and ds’ gf the tan.

Roundaboot · 12/12/2025 09:36

Today's looks great! I love that it's a spray application too.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 12/12/2025 09:48

I love a milky toner but I'm not a major fan of sprays but I'll just spray on to my hand.

Same for me. Pleased with another milky product. Yesterday's will get passed to my teen.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 13/12/2025 09:22

A drawer of meh today for me. I don't use foaming face wash and I reckon I'm at least 40 years too old for S&G. Dd might take it.

A pity this one wasn't yesterday as I dropped off a bag of stuff to Hygiene Hub, who collect toiletry and makeup donations

A bit meh for me too today. Will go in my donation pile.

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 13/12/2025 15:46

Yeah, could use it myself but I'm taking a bundle of items for teenage presents to Mission Christmas in the next few days. It can go in with that. They are asking specifically for more gifts for teens, if anyone is getting rid of things. Drop off points below

This is definitely one aimed at younger skin. I used it in the shower this morning and was slightly alarmed by the strong scent and menthol sensation but it actually didn't strip or irritate my skin so I will use it up. But also encourage DS to use it too!

Peridot1 · 13/12/2025 17:06

Thanks for that information @JustWhatIAlwaysWanted. Hadn’t heard of that organisation. There is a drop off point at my gym apparently. I’ll put together a few things.

Roundaboot · 14/12/2025 09:34

Very happy with today's! I love a cleansing balm and I've not tried Byoma before.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 14/12/2025 09:55

Same here. I've liked other items I've tried from Byoma so I'm looking forward to trying it.

OP posts:
Peridot1 · 14/12/2025 10:12

Pleased with today’s. I like Byoma. Have used a few things from them. And I have bought it for my teen niece. It’s a nice gentle range.

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 14/12/2025 11:18

I will try this - I like cleansing balms and have a few - but for that reason I won't get to it straight away.

Giftwithpurchase · 14/12/2025 12:42

I'm using this atm and it's lovely. I prefer it to Elemis/Eve Lom as it's not as scented

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/12/2025 12:44

Lanolips today. It's basically a balm for everything. I'll give it a go and see how it goes.

OP posts:
Peridot1 · 15/12/2025 12:54

Yes I will try it too. Things like that can be quite useful.

Roundaboot · 16/12/2025 07:56

All purpose balms like that are very handy for the handbag
Very pleased with the Lumene serum today. I've had this a couple of times and it's a lovely product

OchonAgusOchonOh · 16/12/2025 08:44

I haven't tried this lumene serum before but generally like lumene so am looking forward to trying it.

OP posts:
Peridot1 · 16/12/2025 10:44

I haven’t tried it before either but did have a Lumene serum in another calendar one year which was nice. I’m also almost at the end of a Vit C serum and although I have another antioxidant one in my stash I happy to have a back up.

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 16/12/2025 21:07

I like Lumene products so happy to get this, although it is joining a queue of serums I have waiting.

Peridot1 · 17/12/2025 10:20

Simple facial SPF this morning. Haven’t tried this one but always happy with an SPF. Hopefully it doesn’t sting my eyes as a lot seem to.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 17/12/2025 11:09

Yes, SPFs are always handy. I'm currently using a Round Lab one that doesn't sting. It's a K-beauty brand.
