Boots Skincare Advent Calendar opening thread

OchonAgusOchonOh · 30/11/2025 16:41

This thread is for those of us who have the Boots Skincare Advent. I know some of the threads have rules (or requests) not to post spoilers before 7am. I'm not bothered about that but if others would prefer we did include that request, we can.

Now the countdown...

I’m quite pleased with today’s offering too. Not that I don’t have a bit of a stash of body scrubs already. But I am on a mission to use a body exfoliant and moisturise.

Keffert · 03/12/2025 11:49

I’m unsure about today’s

I like q&a but I’m rubbish at remembering to use body scrub and already have a few that I haven’t used from last year! Might offer it to dd

I'll join as had this and opened it all in November as I had run out of everything! Keen to 'relive' it and hear ppls opinions!

I bought it with the intent of doing the same but I've actually only opened a couple of boxes early in the end.

I love the milky toner, feels very soothing on dry winter skin

Christmaschristmas · 03/12/2025 20:10

Am really liking this calendar so far, I love Burt's Bees lip balms and use body scrub everyday.

Peridot1 · 04/12/2025 07:46

Always happy with a moisturiser. Haven’t tried today’s and I tend to need something heavier in winter but I’ll keep this for summer.

Same, although I do have a decent stash of them now but mainly minis.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 04/12/2025 09:05

Yes, definitely looks like a summer one.

Agreed - it's basically a WATER WATER WATER moisturiser by name 😆 Happy to use it but not right now.

Giftwithpurchase · 04/12/2025 09:44

I've been using this one over the last month and it's nice but definitely more summer as you say - it really reminds me of the Clinique moisture surge range. It's just about ok for now layered with an essence and a hydrating serum!

I find the clinique moisture surge one a bit lightweight for my post-menopausal skin. Maybe once for dd.

Might work with a few layers of the milky toner from day one @OchonAgusOchonOh?

That is true. The milky toners tend to be very moisturising.

I like today's one and have used it before. Good to have a size you can use for travel - it lasts ages in my experience too. Another very soothing product to use.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 05/12/2025 08:32

I tend to use cleansing balms but I'm happy to try a cleansing oil for a change. Just need to finish up the cleansing balms in my stash first...

Happy with today’s. It was the first cleansing oil I ever used when I started double cleansing. A good size too. I’m going to Australia for a month in February so it will be good for then.

I didn't think of using it for double cleansing. I tend to only double cleanse if I'm wearing makeup and just use a micellar water for the second cleanse. I could use the oil instead though.

Do you use the oil first or second or does it matter?

Peridot1 · 05/12/2025 09:38

@OchonAgusOchonOh - I use the oil or a balm first and remove with a wet wash cloth/muslin. Then I use a milk or cream cleanser. You can use the same cleanser for both cleanses though. I double cleanse most of the time as I usually have SPF on even if no make up.

Roundaboot · 05/12/2025 09:51

I've had this before from an H&B calendar and it's really nice, though I usually prefer balms over oils

I'll just play around with them then and see which I prefer.

Happy again today.
I use oil and balm cleansers for my first cleanse as I find they’re better at removing make up/ spf. Then I use whatever other type I have for the second cleanse.

percypigss · 05/12/2025 13:04

I’ve had this before and enjoyed using it.
Another good day for me.

Roundaboot · 06/12/2025 10:27

I'm really happy with today's! SPFs are always useful and I've never tried this brand before so looking forward to giving it a go

OchonAgusOchonOh · 06/12/2025 11:14

I've tried one or two Round Lab before and liked them. Very happy with it.

Sunscreen in winter always seems odd but I know it's a good thing and this looks really nice.

Plastic surgeon who removed a BCC from my face (fabulous job, you can't see the scar at all) told me I spying be wearing it all year round. We should put on twice daily at least from spring to autumn and once daily in winter.
