So today we have been to the Christmas at Chatsworth House event, with the Christmas Market. So I wanted a more festive feeling fragrance. I decided to layer Acqua di parma spice and oud with BDK Gris Charnel. It was perfect: warm, spicy oud meets soft, smoky and slightly sweet. It felt rich, sparkly, and cosy ✨🎄💕

I'm wondering how the ADP from the CB Gwp will combine with the BDK gris Charnel. Maybe something to try tomorrow.

Now I'm home, in my pj's and have sprayed on fugazzi vanilla haze as a cosy night time scent.

@BakeOffRewatch I love Delina, definitely stick with it. In fact, I really like all of the PDM fragrances. I now have visions of us all being dressed and smelling like we're in bridgerton 🤣

BakeOffRewatch · 15/11/2025 22:37

@JoRaRaRa I was actually thinking you hadn’t posted much today and if you were ok! I hope you had a fab day.

OvaHere · 15/11/2025 22:48

I bet that was a lovely day @JoRaRaRa I love Christmas markets.

JoRaRaRa · 15/11/2025 23:20

@BakeOffRewatch @OvaHere It was absolutely amazing, even in the rain! 🤣 The market was really well laid out with so many different things to see, eat and drink, although it was definitely on the pricey side. I picked up a plum port, I was able to try a sample there and it was gorgeous and I'm not usually a port fan🍷💜 There was a singing santa band there and my 4 year old niece and I had a good little dance to them singing (she's got some moves!). They then came over to hi 5 her and were amazing with her 🥰 The house looked stunning this year with a fairy theme, truly beautiful 🧚🎄 The only downside was how busy it was, we felt a bit rushed going through. The last time we went was in 2022 and it was much quieter, so you could really take your time.

The light show around the gardens and the projection on the house were incredible 🌟 I also found a lovely little perfume stall (Abbey fragrances, I think it was called) and they had a blackberry oud called bramble smoke that was beautiful, I’m seriously regretting not buying a bottle, especially at £34 for 50ml.

If you haven’t been to chatsworth at christmas before, you should definitely try to go, it’s so magical 🎄✨

MiaN · 16/11/2025 05:57

I surpsingly like one spray of vanilla factory bibbi as to my nose its not very sweet, its not plasticy and It could mix well with others. Its not a me scent as someone perfectly put it

Loved Turn the Page Flora Danica yesterday, but it is very like Midnight Rain to me and its impossible for me to be impartial and judge it as I would if I was smelling it for first time. I am really happy having it as I have been looking for replacement for few years.

MiaN · 16/11/2025 06:33

I am really surprised how easy brands deal with influencers without much of a selection. Harrods through Brown Thomas send one from their exclusives from prive collection to Urish guy with 25 000 followers on tiktok, probably late teens insisting that's his career now. The perfume they send him is one of the prive Givenchy, he called the brand Gio van gi and when corrected he said he doesn't care how others call it, he is unique and will call it as he pleases! That's not what is call dude. He didn't even care to learn the name pronunciation. Of course you can't rely on his honest opinion, in his eyes he is career man and that's his pay to being next Jeremy Fragrance. His other videos are of dupes and arab perfumes. When they want to get publicity they send big, without much logical thought proces. This kid ain't advertising to top tier earners, his followers are likely other teen boys wanting to be influencers. Gio van gi?

You hear everyone taking about same fragrance and year later everyone is decluttering it. They have figured out how to create momentum. I don't get sucked, or at least I try not to get suckef in that type of hype anymore. Both Velvet Aura and Turn the Page are never going to be hyped, one limited edition and one not even on fragantica. Kayali is the queen of creating buzz/hype. They really work the influencer scene

I think there are some more established channels like the perfume guy that do feel more honest, but our tastes are so different.

CorneliaStreet · 16/11/2025 07:21

@JoRaRaRa Sounds like you had a lovely day. I used to go to Chatsworth as a kid and it is beautiful, but I’ve never made it there at Christmas.

Abbey Perfumery sounded familiar so I’ve just had a look at their website and remembered that I was eyeing up their Joe Smooth scent a few years ago. Never actually got it, but might now! They do sample sets too.

MiaN · 16/11/2025 07:56

It's between blanche (it seems everyone else is in agreement they don't like it but I want to give blanche absolu a chance. Or Turn the Page - as the top I plan to wear in the morning has hint of it lingering.

Lurkingshark · 16/11/2025 08:03

@MiaN interesting/ awful about influencer standards. I don’t pay much attention but the hype filters through and given so many new releases, probably unsurprising.

A friend loves Blanche. GOAT fragrance for her.

chatsworth sounds lovely! We had a brass band at a market and it was Christmassy and wonderful.

SOTD Rose en noir miller Harris. And off to hunt CB organisers..

The only perfume influencer I follow is you @MiaN 😂

BTSO Dirty Milk today. I can’t let it go. It’s so different than anything else I have. And I want to own it at least a year, see it through the seasons. The conversation yesterday made me realise BTSO has never aggravated my skin, including the extreme extrait samples. That’s never mentioned in the Fragrantica reviews but I’ve now realised is something very important to me.

Cult beauty sell the black one.

The 2023 “On The Go” edit had the black one https://beautyadventcalendar.net/cult-beauty-the-on-the-go-travel-edit/ £40 worth £180

Blue one with the 2024 “Travel Essentials” edit https://beautyadventcalendar.net/cult-beauty-travel-essentials-edit/ £42 worth £195

White one with 2025 “Flight Mode” edit https://beautyadventcalendar.net/cult-beauty-the-flight-mode-edit/ £45 worth £185. I do not want a white bag!

Really hoping next year’s edit is better. Wish they’d release it a little earlier than June too, as I like to stock up on sunscreen and summer stuff in May.

This is so funny, and I apologise as it makes no sense at all. I will try to not let my phone predict/correct my typing and review it before posting.

"I hit buy so fast" is what I meant and I thought it I typed. It reminded me of scent I want to replace so much, I felt ready to buy it even if it's just for the memory.

In a previous post on last thread, mian said she bought the perfume in a shop where was was bombarded with sales assistants with pressured sales tactics. So she was “bit fast” by them and purchased in one store visit, rather than spraying, going away and coming back to test.

MiaN · 16/11/2025 09:47

Nobody else has made any comments on Turn the Page - any opinions? I won't take it personally, I am genuinely curios. It's one from the liberty kit

BTW - I didn't like blanche the original but really enjoying absolu.

Lurkingshark · 16/11/2025 09:49

Turn the page is in my DIY advent. I actually keep looking at it given how much you mention it…

it wasn't even sales assistant, it's one from the kit. It is just bad behaviour on my phone behalf, and me not double checking before posting. Perfectly good scent, nobody was bitten 😂

I hit the buy button quick.

Oh then I completely misunderstood 😂. Or I am confusing other people’s posts 🫠

I thought it meant you got bit by insects so had to wash off 🤣

I didn't buy the Liberty kit this time. It didn't appeal on reading but a few of you have said you really like it and it was better than the summer kit. I really liked the summer kit though. I'm now second guessing myself. 😂

I really shouldn't be buying more scent though. I'm thinking of having a new year challenge where I work through the bag of 5ml and under samples I have for a few months.

paristotokyo · 16/11/2025 10:10

I’m travelling this week and in the rush of packing I just realised I’ve only brought green tea with me. Would’ve been a great time to use up samples but oh well. Green tea is suited to where we are, hot and humid. So I’ll be quiet until I’m back but still lurking here.

JoRaRaRa · 16/11/2025 10:11

@CorneliaStreet I've only ever been at Christmas, but I'm thinking that I'll go again in June for my unbirthday 🥳 it would be nice to see it on a bright sunny day, hopefully 🤞

Yes! That was the fragrance place. Thank you for finding it for me. I guess I could've tried searching but I was too exhausted last night. I didn't try Joe smooth, I wanted to, with my name being Jo 🤣 but it was round the other side. I was drawn to bramble smoke first though and I can't imagine any others beating that one for me, I did try quite a few others too. I left quickly as they were hovering around me, making me feel pressured to buy and I wanted to see how long it lasted before buying. Weird really, the amount I've blind bought on vinted recently for not much less for a tiny 5 or 10ml, then there I was with a fragrance I really liked and wouldn't part with £34 for a FS bottle 🤣 I was worried though that with it being cheap that it would fade, I'm glad to report though that it didn't, so I may have to order a bottle.

I haven't purchased this kit, but strangely, I was looking at it again this morning before I came on here as I now have another £20 in credit and it is calling my name, I can hear it from London 🤣 Veronique Gabai Délices des Bois really appeals to me, what are your thoughts on that one? Although, the chances are if you hate it, I'll love it 🤣 we do tend to like different fragrances.
