I wore fugazzi vanilla haze yesterday. Loved it at first but then seemed to go really woody, burnt so not sure now. Lasted ages, 12 hours. X
Ive not decided today's yet.

QueefofSheena · 20/12/2025 10:47

I think I’ll be sticking with Angel’s Share for a few days, until I fancy a change

CorneliaStreet · 20/12/2025 13:18

@Doglover73 I’m the same with Vanilla Haze. Love the opening but not so keen on the dry down, which lasts forever on me too.

The worst perfume for this for me is Gallivant Gdansk. The opening is one of the best things I’ve ever smelled, but then it fades to a generic unisex and never-ending dry down. So disappointing.

IDontHateRainbows · 20/12/2025 13:52

I didn't get the dry down thing with vanilla haze - I like it through and through. I wonder if the office will smell of vanilla haze after xmas as I gave quite a few to colleagues, from the cult beauty stockings of which I bought probably around 10 in total - got £25 cult beauty points out of it which isn't bad!

Had an interesting unplanned combo today- sol de janeiro bum bum cream after my shower, then sprayed mat prem santal austral and it really works together. I love santal austral, I have a thing for woody fragrances, not sure it's fb worthy though.

Vyrao free 00 after my morning shower. Perfect skin scent for me. This one’s been a nice discovery. I only have 7.5ml of this and would consider getting a bigger size. Glad I didn’t sell this on like I had intended. Before our move I did the mother of all clear outs and there’s a couple of fragrances I wish I had kept now. A lot were sold or gifted and I only kept a small travel bag to bring them with me as packing was a nightmare. I had to pack our lives in 3 suitcases. None of what I have are full sizes, all are under 30ml, mostly 10ml or samples. I’m probably a bit strange as I don’t wear fragrance when I go out at all, unless it’s very subtle. I mostly wear scents only for me at home so even samples lasts a very long time. I’m going to buy a full size of by the fireplace though, hopefully in the sales. It’s been so nostalgic for me and reminds me of home.

I am just not into winter scents this year, and the weather has been mild and I am trying to get in better shape - walk & exercise and eat healthier and I find I crave fresh scents (as I want to feel fresh). On contrary too gourmand scents for the full day do not feel right right now - I do enjoy them in the evening only. Today I am wearing lingering Acne Studios (contact me if you want to swap one of yours with some of the Sandalwood Temple as I have few). I know people hate it but I bet those that do don't use packed public transport - which is the only time I crave it. It's very lasting so there is hint of that on my top. It's just very clean scent to my nose, and I find smell of oud and vanilla that is trending those days, with body odour and energy drinks in packed transport so intense - I spend only 20 minutes on it each way, once or twice a week but it is truly awful. I spray little bit of Acne Studios on a scarf and I stick my nose in it to try to get some relief.

I am wearing mixture of Melrose Place Ouai and St Bartz body mix, and I smell like holiday in sunny destination. I did dance class and I was getting whiffs of both - I am loving the vibe for today

MiaN · 21/12/2025 10:18

I actually have 50ml + 2*10 Acne Studios so probably don't need any more. I have 2 sandlewood temple, hate the waste but could keep and sell when I have my summer clearout week.

QueefofSheena · 21/12/2025 12:43

Edited as yesterday’s post posted again. I’m still on Angel’s Share

IDontHateRainbows · 21/12/2025 14:52

Burberry Goddess. Was in town passing house of fraser, had a spritz AND got a beauty box reduced to £55 which has the mini. Result!

https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Acqua-di-Parma/Acqua-di-Parma-Blu-Mediterraneo-Mandorlo-di-Sicilia-1688.html

This is very unexpected for Aqua di parma blue Mediterraneano range. Very much sweet almond vanilla scent, not freshy at all. I blind bought 30ml bottle from allbeauty sale. I think I like it, hubby loves it.

I sniffed so many yesterday. The new ouai body mists (like one, the other not at all) the new Tom Ford Figud Érotique
Diptyque Fleur de Peau, Afternoon Swim and Pacific Chill. I am getting ready for my no buy, but I may give myself small budget as worse case scenario

paristotokyo · 22/12/2025 12:28

Sote bal d’afrique. Finished up the sample. Wanted to test it again as gypsy water is already on my to buy list as I love it. I like bal a lot but if I had to choose between the two, gw would be my choice. And they aren’t cheap so I certainly won’t be getting both. I also already have find comfort which is somewhat similar to bal.

Treated myself as H&M launched the EDP version of this
still adore it

QueefofSheena · 22/12/2025 14:58

SOTD is Lola at Coat Check. I’m getting ready for a no buy spell too. Probably until the first good scent edit though as I have no willpower. I’m definitely on a no buy of make up and skincare until the next AC season as I need nothing. Scent is harder to resist though

MiaN · 22/12/2025 15:04

Lots of Harvey Nichol's fragrance advent still on stock in Dublin. Both Space NK and Harvey's didn't do well this year, I worry they may stop doing them

Surely they just need to make less og them, they over predicted demand. I reckon next year it will be the opposite as a correction.

I’m the same @QueefofSheena . Will try to hold off until September!

SOTD Room Service Vilhelm, from DIY advent. Bit of blackberry to start ( but not as nice as Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay) then floral/ violet the n nothing. I think someone said a few weeks back it’s like cleaning products and that is right for the first 20 mins. Perhaps @MiaN you can take it to spray around your public transport!

No idea if I will keep it as a perfume, room spray or shoe spray.

MiaN · 22/12/2025 21:20

Haha, imagine if I just start spraying it in packed tram. :). I shouldnt complain really, one time a week 20 minutes each way is minimal.

Not sure about the acqua di parma. Its like vanilla ice-cream with hint of almond - it may go to my only at home group.

IDontHateRainbows · 22/12/2025 21:28

Dries Van Noten Chaomomile Satin tonight.Lovely lavender-vanilla. Sample nearly out and considering trying to pick up another one.

SOTD today has been day 11 of my Harrods fragrance advent calendar and this one is absolutely beautiful 🤍

Soft, cosy and gently sweet, it feels calm and comforting while still being elegant. It makes me think of a quiet walk through snowy woodland ❄️ crisp air, muted light, and the occasional glimpse of wildlife moving through the trees 🦌🐿️

It’s understated but special, the kind of scent that feels peaceful, refined and quietly luxurious. Another really lovely fragrance from this calendar ✨ I can't believe I only have one more box! 😳 Picture marked as sensitive incase anyone is opening it later then me, I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I need to find anti buy or low buy discussion as unless travelling or some great edit/set I will try not to buy any perfume until September. If I find new loves I can buy things next black Friday. I may move 100e in the end of the month for fun fund and decide if I want to spend then on advents/perfumes last 3 months of the year or something else.

Scent of the day Acqua di Parma Lily of the Valley. Very spring floral slightly animalic. The full price was insane for what it is not I got it on clearance and no regrets. I will be wearing something else in the afternoon

MiaN · 23/12/2025 06:39

Valaya has great longevity and projection, it feels polite and soft but it is very easy to overdo. It is elegant and refined, as long as you don't use it as byredo needs to be used :). I think PDM use a lot of molecule type of ingredients to increase longevity of traditionally short lived scent profiles so taking easy with the sprays is important. Speaking from experience

paristotokyo · 23/12/2025 06:53

I’m on no-buy also. I’ve realised how many new fragrances I have coming my way in the form of advent/kits/gwps, I’m craving to simplify things now that I’m more confident in my tastes. I’m working my way still through chucking out finished samples, think I’ve thrown out 7 so far in the last week. Samples really do last me ages as I’m a two spritz type of girl 😂. Think next year will be moving on to only buying larger sizes of things I actually really love (the list is very small so far) instead of loads and loads of discovery kits and edits.

paristotokyo · 23/12/2025 07:06

Wearing kayali vanilla 28 today, the last couple of spritzes in the sample I had. But I already have a 10ml bottle of this and reach for it when I know I’ll be staying home and I’m not feeling great and need a bit of comfort, which is when I reach for the heavier vanilla type scents. The 10ml is more than enough for me. On a very unrelated note, I was cutting celery earlier and was thinking what an amazing scent note this would make. Off to research 😂

MiaN · 23/12/2025 07:07

I really enjoyed wearing same perfume a lot last few months. I do enjoy full bottle too, they have different aesthetics. I stand by buying 10ml and finishing it before getting more when it's an option but wouldn't enjoy having only 10mls

I have great variety to suit my taste and needs and it will new shame to keep buying all the time without giving what I have much deserved love.

QueefofSheena · 23/12/2025 07:13

SOTD is Dylan Purple. It’s an old favourite oriental floral.

The Off-White cracker that I bunged in my Flannels order arrived. The larger bottle is apparently a sweet almondy white floral but I haven’t tried it yet. There’s a small sample which is more woody and an eye stick pretentiously called face and body solid pigment 😁 it’s a bluey colour so it’s definitely going to be for eyes! RRP on that item is £31 alone so overall not bad for a £10 spend
