Do you have LM Ambre Vanille Rainbows? They are not remotely alike to my nose. I couldn't wait to get rid of Dedcool Taunt, I did not like it at all and as you know - I do like Ambre Vanille at bedtime a lot and just ordered replacement. I am starting to wonder are you actually talking about the other Vanilla scent that Laura Mercier has. None of the perfumes you mention being like Ambre Vanille are like it to my nose, and I wonder if it is LM Vanille you are comparing it to? Or maybe we are just differ on what are we actually smelling in same perfume.

Ambre vanille has coconut and almond in it, and no vanilla. The coconut & almond are very dominant - it isn't vanilla or amber scent at all. I really do not know why did they call it this.

Vs Vanille actually has amber and vanilla in it and maybe more like the perfumes you are comparing it to.

@MiaN I also thought the Dedcool scent was a bit like Ambre Vanille and I have the latter. It probably doesn't make sense looking at the notes but I guess we all smell differently. 😃

I am really amused by this, as to me it's AV is almond coconutty scent. I have problem with some vanillas (burned plastic scent) and Taunt is one of those that I could not stand at all.

VS Laura Mercier Vanille is very Vanilla heavy and I would imagine more like typical vanilla scent.

And is it definitely Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille and not Laura Mercier Vanille you are comparing it to? The names are similar. My other concern is if they reformulated Ambre Vanille and the bottle that I just ordered arrives smelling like Taunt - I would not be happy with that.

But maybe you are right, we are just smelling same perfume but smelling different notes from it.

It’s really dark here so I should have gone dark and moody. Visiting my mum in hospital later though so I don’t want to blast everyone with strong scent 😁

Thanks @MiaN shes very elderly. We are waiting for discharge to a care home but she is quite cheerful about it all.

Ive never tried the vanille or any other LM scents, I dont profess to having the best nose as commonly I'll think a note is in a perfume only to find on fragrantica I'm way off, but yes, something in Taunt does remind me of AV.

The other scents I've perhaps drawn a comparison were not necessarily on the scent profile but the vibe/ feel/ occasion particularly that cozy bedtime vibe.

But something in the Taunt scent profile does remind me of AV.

Off to check the profiles on fragrantica...

Funny re the burnt plastic scent with some vanillas, i used to get that occasionally with Vanilla Powder, but not consistently, or i wouldn'thave persevered with it. I haven't had that lately, just the lovely normal smell, but its weird how my nose changes with it.

Maybe worth bearing in mind if you experience that @MiaN , it may be that it changes like it did for me!

Sandalwood Temple for me today.

OK so the fragrance profiles for ambre vanille and taunt are quite different although both have vanilla despite that supposedly not being in AV. And Taunt also has amber.

Ah well, they are both pleasant and enjoyable to my 👃 that's the main thing.

I bought the rituals velvet aura home fragrance stcks not enjoying it as home scent. Go figure.

Sampled love don't be shy by Kilian, had high hopes as its quite hyped, its ok but very sweet and im not a fan of caramel notes, this is neroli + caramel and its a bit too much together, I've liked other Kilians especially apple brandy but not sure this is one for me.

I need to try that again. I first tried it in summer when I was on my neroli discovery journey and concluded that I didn't like it in summer but should try it again in winter.

I couldn't really smell the neroli or bergamot at all, just sugary caramel and toasted marshmallow.

I tried it earlier this year and it was way too sweet for me. I got some white florals (the neroli?) and loads of marshmallow.

Nectar de Costa Rica Escada - fruity, juicy, summer bomb but I need some summer mood to get me out of the house this morning. I wouldn't wear this in work - but fine for walking the dog when I need mood boost

I only like the boozy bottles from Killian's range. I have not liked a single perfume from the ruler. Intoxicated is ok I guess but leans heavily masculine.

I reduced the sticks in my velvet aura home fragrance and it's better, but still I just not loving with it as room scent. I should have bought another Jing instead.

Woke up early, I blame being menopausal, but to pass the time i played with the NETTE discovery set. Only really liking the tea vanille from this set. The pear jam is artificial pear with a musty dry down. Rose Parade very chemically and screechy, like a rose toilet cleaner really not nice. Coco fleur ok, has that beachy sunscreen vibe.

Yet to try lemon puff or opening night but im not filled with love for this house, although tea vanille saves it from being a complete no no.

In the interests of completion I tried the other 2. Opening night is a zingy/freshy one, not really my thing. Lemon Puff is the suprise 'wild card' of the bunch. I was expecting something very citrussy but whilst there is lemon in there it's tempered by a lovely creamy vanilla. It reminds me a little of devotion although not quite as nice. But a creamy, lemony gourmand which I enjoy. Phew, that's two out of the bunch I like. 2 so-so and 2 scrubbers. None seem to have much longevity - so quality isn't the greatest but it is ok for a bit of a change and try new things.

My views on the set aren't far from yours, but I have to say the 3ml sample sizes is great. The Vanilla reminds me of something you will get from Le Labo. I left the rest to try again in warmer weather. Lemon puff is good but gourmand citrus is little bit like cherry to me - If I have Lira all others are redundant (as when I bought lost Cherry, I didn't want any other cherry). Lira is the best, the devotion range is interesting - the rest just feel trying someone elses idea

SOTD is Discotheque Heathens, cowboys and Santa ana winds. This is from a CB stocking converted into a DIY fragrance advent.

l like this one - thought it triggered a real specific memory (and there is quite a lot in the opening), but then realised it was the sandalwood which it’s dried down to and like Santal 33. But nicer I think. Tempted to scoop up a vinted spare but getting a new stocking is just as cheap but I don’t need the others.

I had mixed feelings about this one - some people get the 'dill pickle' effect with sandalwood and I think I am one of them, although the sana jardin sandalwood temple doesn't do that to me. I may give this one another go as I bought a load to sell on, they are so incrediby cheap, you are right the full stocking is not much more than buying it individually.
