I’m trying to use up small samples at the moment. I stick my hand in the jar and pull one out at random, so SOTD is Clarins Eau Dynamisante. Fresh and clean but wouldn’t buy.

Me too. I bought my Garmin watch and £££ Slip scalloped pillowcases, didn’t click buy on those till really late, that’s quite a lot in one day. And this thread helps me enjoy what I have 🥰

SOTD is rare beauty find comfort body spray. I didn’t like the new perfume but stallings sone minis of this. Light for morning sports clubs.

@MiaN I would go the Jo malone ginger one ideally with a cardamom layer on top. I’ve only ever sniffed the ginger. I’m aiming for a full German Christmas biscuit smell, but not too sweet!

How long did it take to come, Im just wondering how long to expect to wait. Id imagine they're flooded with orders right now. I used standard delivery

I ordered the sephora fragrance kit, should be out for delivery later. Also another liberty scent kit, mainly to sell or gift. They are shifting on ebay and vinted, prices are down but that's to be expected after they've been out a few weeks. Still worth selling to subsidise what I keep.

Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit would be perfect too

Testing the rare edp for tonight. I agree with @IDontHateRainbowsthat it’s a linear scent, not complex but a comforting type of vanilla, of which there are many. DH isn’t a fan when I sprayed myself with it just now and mentioned he finds it synthetic but he’s not a vanilla fan or even a fragrance fan really. I think it’s settled down a bit now. But I’ll use it up as it’s an easy wear. The small bottle is a 5ml roll on, which I didn’t expect. It’s super cute though, pic included.

I didn't get the similarity with Burberry Goddess which is much more lavendery. .
It reminds me of ambre vanille not in the scent profile but its that comforting mass appeal type scent. It lacks anything to pique my interest, perfectly pleasant but not special or compelling.

Meanwhile my packages arrived all at once so I've restocked my ebay shop and kept a few back for the personal stash/ presents. Getting a bit fed up of the same old selection packs now.
Liberty have a new woody scent kit but its only 4 x minis for £90 which is far less than they usually do. I hope this is not a new direction for them, as I live for the scent kits which are amazing value normally.

Its interesting how we all smell and find different similarities. 408 votes for rare beauty being like burberry goddess on fragantica, huge amount for such new scent. I also find them nearly identical with minimal difference. No similarities in any way to Ambere Vanille Laura Mercier to my nose, no similar notes or the feel too. Completely different. I love one for after bath, pre bed scent and I would not go near the other when looking for that vibe. Ambre vanille has tangerine , brown sugar, almond, coconut, sandlewood. No vanilla at all. Rare beauty Caramel, Pink Pepper and Pistachio; Vanilla, Ginger and Cocoa; Sandalwood, Musk and Tonka Bean.

The coconut in Ambre Vanilla makes it feel little bit summary, its very like body care scent. Very soft and calming. I don't get that from rare beauty, it will actually has the the opososite effect if I try too use it in that way, its very designer perfumey scent. But than again I am fussy when it comes to vanillas, I don't get on with many of the popular. I wasnt surprised that Ambre Vanille doesn't actually have any vanilla. It's not ambery either, the name is mismatched!

Is this the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille? I thought it is like a custard tart or crème brûlée.

I didn't mean the scents were similar but for me they both fill that cosy, easy, bedtime scent vibe with mass appeal. Nothing wrong with that if that's what people want!

Edited to say well I was going to compare but the rare has vanished already 😂 I knew it wasn’t long lasting though.

Of course, sense of smell and preference are so different. I am nearly finished with 50ml of Ambre Vanille and considering purchasing 100ml - I have no desire to own even 5ml of Rare Beauty perfume. To my nose, Rare beauty isn't bedtime vibe, it will be scrubber at this set up for me. Ambre Vanille has more similarities to Sol De Janeiro 62 (due to the soft coconut, summer vibe) and not identical but closer to that type.

I was expecting more from Rare beauty after having such a lovely perfume as limited edition last year (the one that was similar but less citrussy then bal d'afrique). I actually agree that Burberry Goddess lavender makes it more interesting as I have and will use my travel size of that, so while very similar to my nose Rare Beauty isn't as good.

but look, my guys think that Carnal Flower Frederick Male smell like 💩, two people can smell same thing and get completely different vibe. Laura Mercier's Ambre Vanille is my signature bed time scent, it's special for me so I may be taking it little too personal 😉. Once I put it on, particularly after long day commute & dog walk in the dark and cold evening I feel like it is part of my ritual of ready to relax and call it a day. I have not worn it outside once.

Vs I would wear Burberry Goddess out and about. I love Velvet Aura, and it is super cozy and comforting and while it is leaning tiny bit like expensive bodycare it is not as sleepy to me.

Brand alley are doing the 50ml AV+ oil sets on offer , I would be tempted myself but I'm avoiding fbs and still have the rollerball with some left.

Back to scent of the day, I've doused myself in mojave ghost absolu. Always keep returning to this one.

Last year Space NK and few others added extra 10% off online for Cyber Monday. I don't know if they will do same but worth a wait. I ordered skincare item that was nearly sold out but for the rest of the wishlist I am waiting.

I hope I have not oversold AV, it really is very simple fluffy scent. I spray it on my fluffy fleeces and dressing robes and pjs.

Fugazzi Vanilla Haze today. It’s cold and wet outside and I have a cold (so can hardly smell the perfume, though I get the odd whiff.) I’ve lit the fire and grabbed a blanket.

Have decided that I like rare beauty rare more than at first sniff. It is quite compelling...if it was a tune it would be 'catchy'.

Have ordered the 10ml Spray off space nk whilst 25% off was on.

Kind of want BF to be over so that there's no more temptation.
