I’m impressed with men who look after their skin. DH washes his face in the shower and shaves. That’s it. Doesn’t even use aftershave. DS is 24 and isn’t really interested either. Does like cologne and hair stuff and beard stuff and has bought moisturiser but hardly uses it. He’s pretty lazy other than long showers and faffing with his hair and beard.

I’m also impressed with husbands who will check the drawers etc. Mine would look at me as if I had two heads.

I sent the link for the Makita to my sister and loved it and she’s ordered it for her DH.

I succumbed last night to a discount on Caroline Hirons last but one kit. It was a good kit but quite expensive. I know she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I like her kits and find them very good value.

This morning I’ve signed up to the Beauty addicts and hoarders thread…..😄

Hi all, I've been lurking a while, and wanted to log on to say thanks for all the advice and discount codes 😄You've all helped me actually buy less, by making me think about what i actually need/want! I still have both the Liberty and Elle calendars though, and bought a few bits from the Selfridges one on Vinted... 😅

Also, I saw some people were waiting to see if the Elle calendar dropped more in price - i got an instragram ad earlier saying 'last few remaining', though don't know how true that is!, and it's back down to £109 again, which it's been a couple of times, but i don't think any lower. @Mejera I do like the Elle one but I think it'd have to drop to £80 ish before I buy it. My eye is on the next premium, but that would have to drop by quite a bit too. In reality, I probably don't need anything else right now and should just take myself to the hoarders thread. I did receive an email from Sephora this morning, also saying that their ac has 'almost gone'. I do wonder what almost gone actually means and if it's genuine or an attempt to get me to panic buy. Maybe both 🤔

Sephora and Liberty will sell out soon I think without needing to discount. Liberty Men's may get discounted. This mid point in November is when normal people start thinking about advent calendars. Not like the RHOBACs who are stalking websites from July. 😂

I overheard a convo in the office yesterday about nice BAC's, not heard it come up before so think it's probably just that people are starting to think about Xmas.

I had ordered a benefit one for £108 with some free gifts from cult beauty and it went missing with Evri so I’ve now ordered this as an alternative and it’s taken my 15% favourite brand discount off too so it was £61 in the end 😍

Does anyone know any deals or edits that include a Dior highlighter? The cheapest I can see it so far is on the JL website.

I don't know of any edits it's in, but JL upped their discount from 20 to 25% on Dior later in November last year. Could be worth holding on. I also got it gift wrapped for free (their gift wrapping is amazing) and a few samples thrown in.

My DH doesn’t use aftershave either, but I’m planning to add a few from my advent calendars to his Xmas stocking.
And if it’s any consolation, mine doesn’t even shave until I tell him I’m not kissing him like that (it’s never an attempt at a beard, just a lazy approach to shaving) 😅

If I asked mine to go through my BAC he would literally just check that there’s an item in each drawer, but wouldn’t have a clue what he was looking for.
I think it’s lovely when I read about other men actually putting a calendar together for their wife/partner. Mine can be thoughtful at times but would never put the work into something like that

I have bought a pub 24 packet of Bacon Fries in the past as an extra advent calendar… (in fact twice!)

@Thelifeofawife - mine would be the same. He’s 65 next week and is not going to change. Pretty good at some things and rubbish at others. He did get me the Lego Death Star for Christmas one year…. Had heard me say once it was a shame DS grew out of Lego before we got the chance to get something like it. I cried. Loved it.

That is a reasonable reduction on the L’Occitane a/c but a lot of minis - as usual for the brand - in there.

I will resist, but, as I am absolutely in love with their Le Cerisier shower gel atm, I may have to buy some more of that instead.

My Clarins order is en route. I genuinely can’t believe I bought DH a skincare cracker. I am in awe of those of you married to men who use moisturiser/cleanser - soap and water is about my DH’s limit - shower gel if he’s feeling particularly fancy! I may give it to younger DS instead, who occasionally expresses a passing interest in skin products.

Ooh my Glossybox advent just arrived! Yay! Very excited. I have watched far too many unboxings and know that day 6 is a dod for me so im adding in a perfume if bought on Vinted from the HN calendar.

It looks lovely and its not damaged at all (read some reviews saying it was) but its not very Christmassy colours.
