Explain the shiny, 'raw' looking faces everywhere nowadays... how is it achieved?

Hi all, I am old enough to no longer know what the beautiful young things are doing to their skin.... This shiny, skin scrubbed raw look is a mystery to me. I love the older dewy, fresh natural look, but this is another level and it looks a bit much in my humble opinion. However, I'd love to know what they're doing to achieve this look? As someone who focuses on using simple products with very gentle, natural ingredients, I expect I won't want to partake, but I'm willing to be converted!

Reminds me of a description of David Cameron I read somewhere (probably MN!) likening him to a 'freshly wanked cock' -so accurate 😂

Each to their own. I think many people shave now their whole face. Also so much make up and skin products now.

I don't think it's just Korean, all the women who work at my local chip shop have this shiny faced (and hair) look.

Inexpensively, you could probably achieve it while leaning over a deep fat fryer for half an hour before going for your big night out.

I’m a bit on the fence about whether it looks good or not but I do think if you can genuinely achieve this look over the age of 40 (ie Vaseline aside) then you must have done something right as it’s very difficult to get glassy skin with wrinkles, fine lines and dry skin all of which come with age.

No, we don’t. You have an incorrect view. A negative opinion about a woman is not automatically misogynistic.

You've been told repeatedly THAT NOBODY SAID THAT.

One poster pointed out ONE misogynistic comment and explained clearly above why THAT ONE COMMENT was misogynistic.

Either stop making stuff up or direct quote where I claimed that all negative comments about a woman is misogynistic.

I usually ignore posters trying to cause thread drama, but I won't let you post absolute BS and ascribe it to me.

Especially on this lovely thread. We were doing so well, I have burst out laughing at a few of the comments.

I'm watching MAFS UK right now (catch up) and many of them are shiny shiny. It looks weird and not at all youthful. I think Leigh (or Leah?) is an 'aesthetic practitioner' or is that Rebecca, anyway, they look very odd and an indeterminate age, and the shine is quite startling on TV. There's a difference between glowing and shiny and a couple of them have crossed that line.

I thought that said Cystralmeth multichrome. My thoughts in order

  1. I didnt know crystal meth looked like that. It's pretty.
  2. Why would you want to rub it over your skin though? Wouldn't it be sharp or something?
  3. But why would it be good for skin?
  4. Hang on a second
  5. Oh. It's not crystal meth.
  6. I remember why I must not stay up later than 11.
  7. I dont know anything at about crystal meth.

It’s derma planning… I had a gift voucher for a facial and the first time I’d had it done after she said can I try it on you, I’m easy going so said yes and came away all shiny…. Basically shaving every tiny hair off your face!!! Not sure I’d be up for having it done again 🤣

Does it make you look hairier faced once it grows back? I'm so glad I'm beauty blind :D

They've also gone way too far with fake stuff and look like they've deformed their faces with sticking whatever into it. Shame because they probably had nice faces at some point.
