I have purposely stayed off all beauty /Christmas bargains and what not threads till now to save money 🤣🤣!!

These bargain threads cost me a fortune !!

I would be interested in swapping vanilla haze, I have discothèque heathens and commodity milk up for grabs.

Boadicea The Victorious Lannosea this morning, it's citrussy and whilst I'm not a massive fan of citrus perfumes in autumn / winter, I really need a boost this morning 😴 especially as work in going to be so busy this week!

Gris Charnel for me today. This is the perfect fall type of scent, I wish the opening stays longer but even without it is still one of my favourites

I love Gris Charnel but wasn't too impressed witb the extrait version, just goes to show extrait isn't always better despite being more expensive. Its a little spicier and not as soft as the original.

Mojave ghost absolu today. I got obsessed with this last year and I can see why. Have doused myself in it as think im going nose blind and its an office day although they know me well by now! Wish I had some way of objectively assessing how strong I smell to others. Mr Rainbows probably nose blind too after being around me all the time.

Harvey Nichols have had a complaint from me today, after losing my calendar they passed me from pillar to post and fobbed me off and still no refund. Luckily I could get it in store. You'd think as one if the big boys they'd be onnit with CS, but no.

Sana Jardin Tiger By Her Side. I’ve never worn this in the cold before, as I received it in the summer 2024 Liberty Scent With Love kit. It’s nice and suits me. Looking at the notes, it seems like patchouli is something I like, which is a surprise to me as I always thought of it as a bohemian smell. You know the mystical shops in the high street with witchy stuff, stones and oils and incense that small towns have.

Another thing stopping me getting more testers, is that the perfumes hold onto clothes even when they fade on skin. So my coats and outer wear jumpers smell strongly of the previous perfume. I like to smell consistent. Hoping there’s a solution like for my clutter!

There’s a bottle of Vilhelm Parfumerie Peony Couture for sale for £100 on Vinted and I’m pondering if to get it. I’ll prob do what I usually do, over think and miss out and move on.

I think 1.5ml, 2ml are ok as freebies and GWP but if they are scent edits or AC it should be 5ml minimum because you are paying. My eyesight doesn’t like reading off 2ml bottles! 😆

I couldn't find anywhere to order a sample or the full size bottle online. I would be very tempted to do a blind buy on this.
I don't actually know where to search very well with perfumes, I shouldn't even be on this thread, I do not need to develop an close interest in perfumes, I have enough trouble with my skincare unhealthy obsession.

Don't spray coats or jumpers unless you can wash them often, like a raincoat I use in the dog park! I have a lot of basic uniqlo polo necks that I can wash frequently and sprits on but never on cashmere jumpers or coats/puffers

Ive tried Vyrao and I've never found one i adore unfortunately. Im quite simple with frag, if it smells good i'll want it! I do get that certain scents have certain effects but im not sure that can be anticipated or controlled as people react differently.

Seems to be a lull in the fragrance offers/ deals/ kits right now probably just as well, gearing up for BF and hopefully sell enough to fund the next lot. Already sold about half my stash, around 30 items this weekend alone so there is still a market for the 10ml size samples where people dont want to buy the whole kit/ calendar and its way cheaper than the store price on a bottle.

I don't like Gris Charnel extait either, it's very masculine and dark - there is some energy/lightness in the original that is missing. I prefer the original formulations of Mojave Ghost and Bal D'Afrique. I have not had much luck with extrait/absolu type so far.

I don’t spray them, the smell transfers from my neck and wrists

Vryao The Sixth is one of my summer favourites.

SOTD is Verticaloud. I have a couple of small bottles from edits and I’m not sure I’ve tried it before. I like it so far, it’s a softer oud than I expected.

You can buy 'smell remover' stuff to add in the washing machine, i actually bought it for whiffy armpits but it really works when a normal wash doesn't to remove ALL smells, the one I bought is called Dr Beckmann and I got it off amazon.

That happened to me wearing sweaty betty puffer with perfume I end up hating ... I tried to gently wash the sleeve but I still think the smell lingered for one year 😭. Puffers aren't same after wash and this one was expensive! Wool coats are worse

I learned my lesson and I have not had issues since

Lucky you! The Sana Jardin I received in the Scent With Love Kit was Berber Blonde, which I'm not keen on.

Nothing left from Gris Charnel by 15:00 pm so to try to keep myself awake and alert for long meeting I showered myself in Commodity Moss. Perfectly ok citrus but not one I recommend - there are better out there.

The Merchant of Venice and Kilian discovery sets are in the sale at Fenwick for £25.50 each, there's others too. Postage is £5 though and I couldn't find any further money off codes. I did go through TCB but nothing is showing yet. I only bought the MoV as they're 5ml testers and there's 6 of them, whereas the kilian are 2ml and only 5 of them, also me and kilian don't seem to get on 😕

Warning everyone to be very careful if ordering from Harvey Nichols. They have lost my calendar and that of another poster on this thread and being very shitty about refunding or replacing. Luckily im not desperate for it as got one in store but I would like my money back, or the sodding calendar. On the verge of contacting my bank to do a charge back.

Reading the reviews on trustpilot, I am not alone. Loads of awful reviews saying similar. You assume one of the big boys won't be that bad, maybe not excellent but you assume a minimum level of customer service and a refund or replacement on a lost item, that I doubt was even sent in the first place as the status on the tracking is 'expected' so I'm blaming HN, not RM for this one.

To cheer myself up I will crack open the Byredo grand discovery set and have a couple of sniffs from that.

Still not clear to me how to avoid the transfer of the perfume onto coats and outerwear knits but sounds like it’s a challenge for everyone. I don’t wash my coat every wear and I can smell the previous perfumes as I pick it up
