Whats your brand personality?

Just curious....do you have a particular brand that is just 'you'?
Somewhere you can spend hours window shopping and know you will love almost everything or are you more of a varied shopper.

Im abit of both. I have 1 favourite brand that I tend to live in (and feels like my personality in a nutshell!) and another that is my 'bit on the side', both of which are abit spenny for me so I stalk the sales and Vinted.
Vinted is also where I branch out, alot of brands I'll happily buy second hand much cheaper but never go to the actual sites.

Wyse London - discovered it last year, obsessed! Love Me & Em too.

fuckhimintheear · 04/10/2025 13:36

Zara for me. When they get it right they get it so right. Which in my opinion is more often than not.
Also Cos.

Used to be Miss Selfridge for me back in the day. Sadly I don’t have one now- although Apricot is the one that reliably fits my body shape.

@EscapadeVelocity I laughed but saw the light when I read your reply. I totally agree. My DH says my v old cardigan looks granny type. A blazer sounds fab but is that not a bit formal ? I like that my cardigan is comfy and cosy but I want a put together look, I want to ooze style. I need some help with it all !

I’m sorry you’re stuck in a rut. Depending on your budget I’d be tempted to bin everything. If you’re wandering around in a holey cardigan then you’ve lost your way.
Maybe a personal shopper will help? Or if not, then follow an influencer? I recommend TheSilverKat or ChloeLovesToShop.
You can learn how to become stylish (to an extent) and bin off the cardigan. It’ll be cathartic.

I never knew I had a wardrobe full of barn jackets until recently 😂

15 or 20 years ago I would have said White Stuff.

Now? I don't know. I have to shop harder to find things I like.

Ireolu · 15/10/2025 13:03

Off the back of this thread I decided to try some cos trousers. Preference is me and em but given cos is half the price and we'll received thought would give it a go.

They took 2 weeks to arrive and the fit with my c section overhang is awful..not worth the wait. Looks like it will also be a very long wait to get my money back. Sad!

Zara for day to day. Sezane for "nice" pieces. Passenger or Toast for weekend / outdoorsy / dog walking stuff.

LittleBitofBread · 15/10/2025 13:58

Firetrap in the 00s had a good line in knitwear. And it always had long enough sleeves: the holy grail for me! (tall, lanky, long arms).

EDITED: I put the wrong brand name <<d'oh>>

I LOVED Firetrap in the 00’s. My favourite jumper was from there, it was stolen at a party in, I am going to say 2000 or 2001. I think about that jumper a lot.

CountryMouse22 · 16/10/2025 12:20

Mine is probably Home Bargains!

GinSwiggers · 16/10/2025 14:14

20 years ago my go-to was Jigsaw as I loved their slightly bohemian look, natural fabrics and colours. Now, they are rather duller, far too long and far too £££.

I don't have a special brand. Mix of basics from J Lewis, Boden, some White Company, a few smarter dresses from Whistles, some tops Mint Velvet.

I don't work outside of home now but if I did and needed formal wear I'd look at me&em. But nothing much for under £250 so not my budget.

That's gutting! I never had a Firetrap item stolen, but I did put a nice wool jumper on the wrong wash and shrink it [idiot]

Oh and Etsy. I could spend a fortune on Etsy if I had a fortune.

When I was in my first job in the early 90s, my friend who designed for Warehouse said I was their archetype customer and she created clothes with me in mind! I did wear Warehouse for casual wear but was more likely to wear Jigsaw to work in those days.

Now if I had the money (but not enough money for designer), I'd buy up Zadig & Voltaire, the Kooples and BA&SH. The reality is I'm currently spending most of my clothes buying income in Zara and Mango.

EscapadeVelocity · 30/10/2025 15:57

How fantastic, @HelenHywater. I hope they took lots of photos of you as Warehouse muse for posterity. Would you actually say those clothes suited you better than anything you’ve worn since?

MonGrainDeSel · 30/10/2025 18:15

Late 80s/early 90s Warehouse stuff was really wonderful. I had some amazing things from there.

FerretsPlease · 30/10/2025 18:21

I've spent over 9k at disturbia in 18 months, so that pretty much sums me up. Also have far too many docs and about 50 pairs of trainers.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/10/2025 18:30

Lucy & Yak & Toast mostly.

AlPaccacino · 30/10/2025 19:03

Twisted Wunder and NeverFullyDressed. Full on endorphin dressing. I love the bright colours and I stalk Vinted.
