If you’re a Scandi architect type of dresser, what would you wear to an October wedding?

I’ve lost quite a bit of weight recently and look alright in clothes again now but have lost my way, style-wise as I’m used to hiding away. Got a friend’s wedding in October and would like to look half decent.

I’m size 10/12, 5’8” tall and wide-shouldered so can’t wear dainty things (really not a dainty type of person) or anything too fitted on top. Cos type clothes suit me but so many of them are black which isn’t great for a wedding.

Would consider hiring something good and would probably need to then buy shoes or boots. Happy to spend some money, even happier if I don’t have to!

I actually think shapeless dresses look amazing on slim tall women because their frame can handle and display the extra fabric well, specially when they have good defined shoulders.

Gorgeous. The pics make it look like there’s something funny going on with the seams - but on the basis it’s just the pics and not the dress, it’s one of the nicest dresses I’ve seen posted in S&B for a wedding. Love it.

Agreed - I think larger people look terrible in shapeless dresses. Only slim people can pull them off IMO

Pretty Kitty Dress I wore this to a winter wedding last year and felt amazing in it. I have broad shoulders, 5'8, size 12 and got a few compliments on the day. Different rich colours to choose from too. Bought this after seeing it recommended on here and i loved the way I felt in it.

Just because someone is slim and tall, why do you think they want to or should show off their figure?

A tall slim person doesn't automatically prefer tight fitting fashion.

The first dress here is the kind I find hard to wear because I have to size up to a 16 to fit my shoulders in otherwise I can’t move my arms 😂. And then the rest of it doesn’t fit.

What is going on with the model? It looks as if she is wearing one of those thickly padded items Sumo wrestlers wear just below her waist.

It sounds like you need a different size top and bottom so maybe consider separates.

Has anyone said ME+EM yet, I’d consider myself a scandi architect type dresser and there lots of options there I’d consider if I had an October wedding to attend.
