The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

@IlovePond what was the TCB offer?

@BlueLimes - TCB were giving c/b on the Liberty calendar (which came to about £14) AND £5 back if you paid by buying one of their gift cards. Or something like that. It was a one off deal which has now gone. I think @lunar1 bought it that way / I know someone on here did.

@BakeOffRewatch - you are right. I really need to let it go!

If the Liberty is still around next month I might crack, but that will give me more of a cooling off period. I also might pay it a visit in store and have a sniff at whichever of the perfumes they have in stock.

I’ve received my Liberty calendar and I’m planning to sell it on. Nothing sinister - I’ve amassed quite a bit of credit in Beauty Drop but my circumstances have changed recently (started college) and I realised that I can’t really justify spending the thick end of £300 on an advent calendar.

I’m just not sure of the best selling platform. Vinted would usually be my platform of choice as I have a great rating/reputation and I'm comfortable with using it but they can be exceptionally fussy about selling cosmetics and I be annoyed to be banned for a perceived infringement.

They do BF sales/offers. Their best event of the year is early January when they do something called Fukubukuro which is basically a lucky bag event.

I think the Cult Beauty limited edition might come back into stock again. It said something like “notify me when available” after it had sold out, although I think it’s gone again.
I sort of regret not buying it

Purchase of SNK advent calendars is excluded from Topcashback in case anyone was wondering.

I use Vinted a lot for small/relatively inexpensive items, but for high cost items I sell via EBay as you can specify Royal Mail tracked delivery (with good insurance), meaning less chance of being conned by the buyer

I have received the email from Space NK. I signed up to the wait list before seeing the contents and deciding it probably wasn’t for me. I also have an 11am -1pm slot.

I think i we re-watch SNK unboxing, because now im thinking would i rather spend £260 on other bits🙈 I have CB so i wouldnt be missing an AC. Im enjoying Tatcha products atm so i could splurge on that, eee im not sure now🤣

so having managed to get the harrods fragrance ….I have been dithering between Harrods BAC (which i initially thought no and Space nk ) as a second advent calendar …been lurking on vinted and am knee deep in spreadsheets to try and decide between them …nearly had a moment of fomo madness and put the selfridges fragrance calendar into my basket at lunchtime ..and then saw sense and removed it ! had finally settled on harrods this evening when SNK email dropped into my inbox with access between 9-11 tomorrow ….and now i’m back to dithering 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ ….

Apparently I too signed up to the SNK waitlist - my slot is 9-11am tomorrow but I won’t be buying!

Just had a look at the SNK contents - it’s definitely not for me - there’s only two or three products I would actually use.

I couldn’t see brow gel, though - was that another calendar’s mystery item?

I'm getting antsy - but it looks like lots of people have signed up but won’t be buying so I’ll be surprised if they sell out. I was just hoping to avoid the madness

Harrods is a slice of ultimate luxury with those mini but extortionately priced face creams.

SpaceNK is more long term usability (giant SDJ body oil) with a bit of lux here and there.

What speaks to you more?

Well SNK not allowing cashback on the advent has put me right off. Last year cashback worked.

I'm not keen on their sales tactics on this one either, so i think it will likely be a no from me. But there is a few thing I do want to try and really dont know if I would be best off buying on vinted or getting the calendaar and selling what I dont want. I need a stock up of everything for the year ahead really and advents seem the most cost efficient time to do so. Very conflicted.

I bought the Selfridges Fragrance Wardobe, they seem to be more gourmand types which appeals to me, and exceptinal value compared to the other fragrance ones so far. I may have also bought some Kilian off Vinted too.

And then theres the what to do about Vogue situation... I have a big birthday this year and kind of feel, why bloody not, but also thats a whole lot of spending.
