The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

Yes 😮‍💨 also keeping in mind that I have already bought the Harrods fragrance and beauty calendars. Also spent over £100 on items from other calendars (thankfully different calendars)

Oh that’s good to hear. That is the one thing I fancied trying from the Selfridges calendar so have just ordered one from Vinted for £12 to add to my Harrods advent. 🙂

Me too! The contents of last year’s calendar look really good, but it had sold out by the time I knew it even existed.

My HN calendar is on the way so I’m going to swap the things I want to keep from it with the DODs in Liberty and sell some of the other stuff.

the only other calendars I’m waiting to see are Jarrolds, Maison Margiela, and L’artisan parfumeur, although I’ve got last years L’AP in the wardrobe until December.

Help… I am in London and trying to use my Liberty voucher from the calendar last year with the faulty candle. Can anyone remember if they sent us an email with the voucher and when in would have been sent? I printed the voucher and have left it home with no one to go and look! Hoping if I know the date I may be able to find it on my emails. Many thanks

Good lord, thread 4 and I've only just noticed it's that time of year again. It may be the universe's way of telling me I completely over did it in 2024 and need to have a more restrained advent calendar season this year.

So far it's just my usual Liberty's 'free' with my credit and hopefully a fragrance one. Obviously have missed the boat on Harrod's but looking at HN now, and wondering if SNK will do one again. Does anyone know??

Yes, SNK are doing one but there are zero details yet.

Oooh, excellent news, though means might need to make a difficult decision between that and HN.

Hopefully no body spray in SNK this year though...

So far I have the Liberty calendar which I bought with beauty drop credit. I am very seriously considering the Space NK, and I also think that the Glossybox looks excellent value, but not sure if I can justify it having also indulged in the Lancôme beauty box! Love this time of year 😀

For those on the fence about Glossybox mine arrived today. I have a new method for should I buy it, it's what would I go an buy on ebay/vinted etc. It really stripped a lot down to a definite no. However GB didn't because so much was usable. 6 items are in my get rid of pile, the eye cream, avant, lip gloss, lip scrub, candle and body oil which is lovely but I've already got it.

The palette is lovely - very wearable I think for most people. If I was to complain I would have loved a paler eyeshadow too.
The ingredients for the medik8 toner are very good, niacinamide etc. It's not floral water. Throwing shade at liberty.
The Commodity - I'll try an describe, initally there's something sweet, maybe the marshmallow, very nice, but it quickly goes down to a soft warm woody with a slight masculine wood tang/edge. Very unisex on dry down, nothing to stand out like a floral or citrus. There's not a note as such. It's something I would spray lightly because I am someone who likes a note. I think it's an autumn/winter scent. Not a rebuy but will keep I think.

Oh gosh, the Raisin one. I loved that as well as Frambois which was a darker pinky red. I also still have one from back then called Bonfire. I was a bit obsessed with deep and dark orange colours in the late 80s / early 90s and loved Ruby and Millie for their colours. I also had a Miss Selfrisdge lipstick called Cayenne (which I've also kept, for old times sake) I still have my student bus pass with a photo of me proudly wearing my cayenne lipstick. I think it was a better look on me than Twilight Teaser that's for sure!
