The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

My £10 is off women’s clothing. So annoying. At least they’re not just applying it to underwear this time. (Never do a major knicker restock on JL as they’ll make you pay for it for years.)

I'm 54 and I was a newly-promoted-to-management grade mid 20's Civil Servant. I had dozens of the buggers as I all of a sudden had good money to spend. This would have been late 90s. This is also why I've just bought three this week from vinted as its just sooooo nostalgic.

I just checked my rewards. I didn't get that. I never seem to get good JL rewards. Probably because I don't buy enough with them. Maybe if I get the BAC that will change next year.

I'm 49 so will have been a teen then. I love that you've been on a nostalgic binge. 😂Funny that it's taken so long for me to own one. I guess by the time I could I'd forgotten their existence.

Funny. I noticed the Juicy Tube and wondered if my MiL was too old for them as they’re for young people. The tricks your mind plays!

I'm always baffled that I get good rewards, but it could be the £100 a week I spend at Waitrose. I really must make a note as I hate it when I forget to use them.

The JL calendar does look good. I've got my eye on that Medik8 night cream and I smelt the versace crystal noir perfume last week and it's gorgeous! So I'll probably try to grab those on vinted or ebay to add to my harrods super dooper one 😍

I do sell a lot and actually enjoy wrapping the parcels etc 🙈🙈 for one I would not have the patience to wait to open the calendar in December, also it would not excite me because I already know whats in it. Another thing is I only wear make up once in a blue moon, so all the blushes, mascaras and so on do not appeal to me. I do however love sckincare and perfume, so buying 5 calendars (this year) lets me get the bits I want cheaper, as I do get good bit of money I spent back. I also make up a DIY calendar for a charity shop raffle out of some bits, and I always aim to price my items to be lowest on Vinted, so its a win for everyone 😂 thats my girl math anyway 🙈
having said that I might get DH to get me a Brown Thomas one without looking at the contents and keep it for December. Although I am not a fan of surprises, I might enjoy opening it in December for a change 🤔

I had a sniff of Commodity. Absolutely not for me. Will go straight on Vinted. It’s not one of my preferred light fragrances!

I have a 30ml of the Crystal Noir. It's really lovely. It's in the LF calendar too. I will pass minis on to my friend who likes it but doesn't own it.

Yeah, I thought I'd seen it in another one but I couldn't remember which one. I'd love a big bottle of it, but after getting the Harrods calendar, I asked my husband for a full bottle of the BDK gris Charnel for Christmas and a small John lewis box turned up a week later which he has suspiciously put away somewhere so I best not say I've changed my mind 🤣 Hopefully plenty will go up on vinted and ebay and I may be able to get a few 🤞

I do have my birthday in January and normally get my husband to buy me a fragrance gift set in the boxing day sales to wrap up for my bday 😊 (gotta be some perks to a January bday 🤣)

Selfridges ac arrived today. It's not bad, quite a range there including 3 perfumes from Creed, ex nihilo and ormonde Jayne.

A fair mix of hair, skincare, beauty and frag. I'll probably sell 1/2 to 2/3 on vinted/ ebay keeping the best things and recouping some dosh to get the next addy cal!

I bought mine from allbeauty website when it had an extra discount. Clearly an ex Xmas gift set as it had body wash and lotion with it. Have a look on there post Xmas.

Let me guess...you won't be keeping that complicated lash set thingy? I wish they had put something else in the calendar as it seems quite expensive but not something a lot of people would use. Maybe I'm wrong about that though and loads of other people don't find false lashes too much faff.

I’ve looked at both the Elemis and the JL ones today. I don’t think either are worth the price tag. So looks like I won’t be buying one again this year.

That was first on the list to go along with the gisou hair oil ( I have greasy hair) color wow and tanning drops.

Keepers are the manketti scrub, morphe palette and the perfumes although not the jo Malone.

I'm intrigued by the goldi drops, is this a serum? A highlighter? I'm.scared of looking like the tin man from wizard of Oz!

Just tried the fleur narcotique and its lovely, im not usually that into floral but it doesn't smell very floral at all despite the name.

I have the Bronzi drops from DE. I've been using them through the summer to mix in with foundation/tint. I also do the same with the Vieve stuff. Gives a subtle bit of colour and glow. I'm assuming the Goldi ones are shimmery like Vieve.

I think I had the same sample from Creed as you. One spray and I threw it at my DH! Was it one they sent in a box from Harrods’ separately? It did calm down, but first smell..disgusting.

I bought a CT item from Fenwick and it came today all wrapped in green and white tissue, with 2 Creed samples and another brand sample. It was so lovely to open, reminded me of when I used to go shopping in nice stores and they would make the whole experience a lovely treat. I miss those days…went to Space NK a few months ago and they were useless…zero CS skills.

I have been grappling with buying the Selfridges advent as looks like there is loads in there but quite a lot I don't want. Particularly the lashes,tanning drops, scalp serums and black eyeliner
Anyway I lucked out and managed to find a few of the items I wanted on vinted for a great price and although I am still stalking vinted for the Augustinus Bader eye cream the good news is that it has cured that itch and I can cross Selfridges off my list ( Unfortunately I have now moved over to Sephora)
@IDontHateRainbows I read that Fleur Narcotique is supposed to smell like PDM Valaya do you think it does?

Not tried valaya but I'll be happy if it is similar as I have that one, unopened from harrods fraggy cal
