Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

I usually use it when I have a bath and just sit and relax for 20 mins. I also use it in the shower sometimes and just leave it on for 5 mins. Still seems to work!

I need some sun lotion for a trip away, and now I’m wondering whether I ‘might as well’ just order the Harrods hair calendar as it has one in it 😂

Out of curiosity I had a look at the Harrods BAC on eBay, a seller is showing as having sold 15 and still has some available. Utterly ridiculous! (Also, I thought there was supposed to be a limit on how many you could buy)

If they’re running a business and selling at mark up, I can imagine it’s really easy to get a few people or family members or TaskRabbit type people to do it.

Big fan of Elasticiszer here, I use it as a treatment pre shampoo, makes a huge difference to my hair. I usually buy the big 1000ml bottles as it's more cost effective, but typically just ran out. Feel free to send me your unwanteds 😂

I was hoping it would be something exciting as they were holding off sharing it, that's a bit disappointing

I'm only really tempted by this for the box and for the frankincense cream, so for a few 'quid' extra (and the hope of GWP) I'm holding out for Fenwick. Also, I love Neom, but cannot stand the Happiness blend, so even the candle would be a DoD for old candle fanatic Rainbow here.

Vinted is going to be awash with Neom candles this season!

Fenwick may temp me of it stacks with the GWP. It worked in 2023 and the GWP had Bioeffect EGF serum so it was well worth it. That was my ridiculous amount of AC’s year, even worse than the bargain year of 2022 😬

Not tempted by the next ACs. Will hold out for selfridges and space nk I think.

Disappointingly my LF fragrance cal which is supposed to arrive by 6th sept is still showing as 'processing'

I agree that the mystery item in Space NK is very disappointing 😐

I also bought the 2023 Fenwicks calendar which stacked with the gwp. It was only a 12 day one but had some really good products including a full sized EGF serum, a lovely Evidens moisturiser, the AB rich cream and the Delina hair perfume. Think it was only £165 that year and stacked with a good gwp.
Last year also stacked with the gwp but the calendar wasn’t very good value. So here is hoping the same happens this year, although that may persuade me to purchase another calendar that I probably don’t need! 😆

My LF said it was arriving on the 3rd but no sign of it yet.

I'm reconsidering Boots 24 Beauty Stars. It's not at all bad for £150 and they may do the £10 first day discount as they did with No7. My main criticism is they have a lot duplicates - 2 x Hair Masks, 2 x Bronzers, 2 x Lipsticks, 2 x Cleansers. If they'd just curated it a little better and put in a full size serum of some sort it would have elevated it to an exceptionally good calendar for £150.

Also considering just holding off until Oct to see if Fenwick combines with autumn gwp.

I keep saying I'm going to buy SNK but I'm not sure whether I am when it comes down to it. It was the one I regretted not buying last year which is clouding any objectivity. I have a decent chunk of SNK vouchers but I might be better hanging on and putting them towards the fragrance calendar. I wish they'd announce that one so I can see what's in it.

Yesterday I sorted my AC, by ordering the one from HN’s and it’s been shipped already (shipping was free). And thank you for bringing up Vinted in this thread, I managed to snatch the Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique from it that was the only thing I really wanted from Selfridges AC.

When I ordered it I think it gave me a delivery date of 3rd Sep (at checkout). However, the page for the beauty calendar now says shipping is from 16th Sep, so I’m assuming this is for the fragrance one too. It’s very sneaky I think, as nothing was mentioned about a later shipping date when they took everyone’s money on 1st.

I'm thinking this year that any ACs where I would only buy it for a couple of things I really love, just to pick these up on vinted or ebay.
