As the title suggests. I have been thinking about getting my nose pierced for a while now but at 44 am I too old?

No. I know people of all ages with a nose piercing. It suits absolutely everyone. I used to have mine done but it never healed and now everyone has one I don’t want to get it done again 😄

I had mine done for my 40th birthday - I love it. Go for it, if you don't like it you can just take it out.

Knackeredmommy · 18/07/2025 13:59

I got mine done at 42.

mydamnfootstuckinthedoor · 18/07/2025 14:02

I had mine done when I retired at 61

SpacedOutOut · 18/07/2025 14:26

Had mine done for my 46th birthday. I’m 49 now!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/07/2025 14:26

Thank you. Did it hurt a lot? And how was the healing process?

Had mine done at 45. My niece encouraged me as she thought it would suit me. I love it.

And if you change your mind you can always remove it anyway.

thatsthatsaidthemayor · 18/07/2025 14:28

Got my septum done a few years ago. I’m 51. I love it.

ImWearingPantaloons · 18/07/2025 14:31

Gosh it’s your nose - if you want it done get it done!!

Mine has been in for about 20 years now, keep it clean and leave the initial stud in for a couple of months. And go to a piercing shop, not Claire’s (obviously)

emmetgirl · 18/07/2025 14:34

Of course not. I’m nearly 59 and I have a nose piercing.
Get it done!

BIWI · 18/07/2025 14:35

Why should your age come into it? If you like the idea of a piercing, and you can afford it, then go ahead.

dollyblue01 · 18/07/2025 14:37

Of course your not, go get it done.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/07/2025 15:16

Thank you! I just booked it for tomorrow but I’m having a blood test on Monday would you wait until after?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/07/2025 15:19

It’s ok I’ve changed it. Will come back and let you have a pic!

You are never to old i have loads of piercings.
My first piercings was my ears at 3 days old had 3 in each ear by 10.
I had my nose done at 9 done by gun on a market stall.

Kamek · 18/07/2025 15:56

Make sure you have something to eat and drink before you go. I didn't and despite having several other piercings i nearly passed out when I had mine done. And make sure to keep it clean. The healing is a few months but its totally worth it!

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/07/2025 15:58

I was older. I got it to celebrate my divorce and I bloody love it. Go for it.

It didn’t hurt as such but it stung and made my eyes water! Was a bit sore for a while after but wasn’t that bad. I did have a problem with a keloid/bump around the piercing which took around a year to go, we were still wearing masks for the most of that time so it was hidden! It was just over a year after getting done before I was able to change the hoop without any bleeding.

TragicMuse · 18/07/2025 16:19

I got mine done this year. I’m 60!

frozenshoulderhell · 18/07/2025 16:37

Got mine done at 54

Thank you. Stupid question but I can get a stud doesn’t have to be a hoop?

I'm 63 and have a nose stud and lots of earrings. Sometimes I wear a small ring but mostly a mini stud. They look great.

Fridaynightfish · 19/07/2025 08:47

Oooh I’m 43 and am desperate to have it done but I was worried I was too old too - and because I am in a senior position at work? Does that matter?

Workingonthehighway · 19/07/2025 09:17

I would like mine done but was teased a lot about the size of my nose ( its big) and worried a piercing will draw attention to it.

When I had mine done (as a teen), they pierced with studs initially and then you could change to a ring if you wanted once it healed. No idea if that's changed and you can now get a ring from the start.
