Well style mavens, that last thread went quickly! Let's hope we get more royal fashion to analyse. I think we need some tiara action, though.

It's a very pretty brooch.

If I was asked to do an event that required me to kneel in a muddy flowerbed - I would choose exactly that shade of brown.

She's not kneeling on the earth, she's on a foam mat.

Well her actual knees might be on a foam mat but I still wouldn't want to risk my lower shins brushing the mulch/mud when I was kneeling down if I were her.

So IMHO brown was a sensible choice.

I didn't say brown wasn't a sensible choice, I said I didn't like the particular shade. You're assuming I think she should be wearing something lighter. Quite the opposite, actually.

Anyway, she's not that bothered about a bit of dirt. Her shins are hovering over the pavement. She's wearing white trainers and asks not to have to wear gardening gloves, preferring to feel the earth. Good on her.

Love Cam's brooch but then I love bees.

Hmm Leti's dress I do like the style but not that colour as it looks a bit too postulant nun too me, however in a bright jewel shade I think it would look amazing.

Camilla does have a bee brooch but this appears to be the smaller sapphire horsefly (!) one with diamond wings. She’s previously worn them together.

I’m not a fan of insect brooches. The Dutch Royal Family have some that Maxima sometimes wears. I recall a big spider and a stick insect. Yuk!

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 03/07/2025 07:47

Yes Camilla's stick insect brooch was a gift from her father IIRC.

Cassiope · 03/07/2025 07:51

I love the insect and arachnid brooches! I was peering at Camilla's pair trying to gauge how anatomically accurate they were (answer, so far as I can tell, is that effort has been made with at least some features - waist, eyes, no. of pairs of wings - which definitely ups my enthusiasm for them). I wonder if she has any hawker or chaser dragonfly ones? Lots of scope for coloured gems and the chasers have especially chunky bodies.

I agree. I have an aversion to asymmetric hems. To me it just looks like the dress maker got bored and hacked the bottom with scissors. I never think they look flattering either as they don’t really hit the sweet spot on anyone’s legs

deeahgwitch · 03/07/2025 08:39

I don’t like that dress on Leti and the colour doesn’t suit her.
Now back to Camilla’s coat - where is it from please, does anybody know. ?
Mind you I look like a sack of spuds when I wear something like that so I don’t know why I am asking 😀

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 03/07/2025 11:32

@deeahgwitch I've looked but can't find info on the coat.

Papergirl1968 · 03/07/2025 12:08

The ice blue trench coat is by Anna Valentine. Camilla wore it in a recent trip to Bradford, that time with dragonfly brooches.

Ah thanks @Papergirl1968! And there you go, that answers your musing on dragonfly brooches. I totally forgot about those. 🙂

If I were fantastically wealthy I'd have such a varied collection of brooches.

Choux · 03/07/2025 12:12

She’s also looking like Jill Biden again in that photo.

Eaumyword · 03/07/2025 13:03

Big nope to Leti's purple dress. It's giving '80's vibes, but not the good sort.

That was meant to say there you go @Cassiope!

The skirt lovely, the smocking midriff fine. It all goes wrong in the boob area for me.

Sidebeforeself · 03/07/2025 15:53

I actually like Leti’s dress! The colour is a bit different and the cut shows off her enviable figure.

deeahgwitch · 03/07/2025 16:00

Thank you @Papergirl1968and @Choux
I agree re the Jill Biden resemblance in that photo in Bradford.

I like it, too. And I really like her shoes. I know it's a result of foot issues, but the absence of outdated stilettos makes the overall look appealing to me.
