Well style mavens, that last thread went quickly! Let's hope we get more royal fashion to analyse. I think we need some tiara action, though.

I live the idea of the Dior suit better than the execution, I think. I don’t think the blush colour really suited Kate that well, and felt the sparkley skirt was too close to the Self Portrait silhouette she has been wearing lately. I would have liked to have seen the jacket with a tailored A-line skirt in the same fabric as the coat (or in black!) but acknowledge that would have been too close to Mary’s recent outfit in a similar situation.

I saw on instagram that Alexandra’s diamond kokoshnik tiara has been removed from the display at Buckingham Palace, so we could well be seeing it on Camilla tonight!

Yes I think Mary did it better tbf.

I bet you were planning to wear tonight to walk the dog/ do some gardening/ drop the kids off/ go to yoga (insert correct activity). What a cheek.

Come now @Maireas. it
just shows that you have excellent taste if the Queen chooses to wear your tiara on front of the French 😆

I like Kate’s outfit.
Not too keen on that particular shade of green Camilla is wearing.

Just seen the segment on the news, Mdm Macron’s dress with the buckles(?) at the waist is very flattering.

I agree re Camilla. I think softer colours suit her better, that green is too overwhelming.

WorkingRoyalNotTwerkingRoyal · 08/07/2025 19:28

Hopefully the Queen will go for something other than blue/navy/white/green tonight. We have seen her in each of those quite a few times in recent weeks.

It many ways it's the worst of both worlds because it's fine and flyway but also thick and very straight - it's almost un-styleable it won't hold any curl /shape so I have learned over the years that it is some variety of bob or a pixie cut.

As tween in the 80's I so wanted a flicky fringe as per every cover of Jackie magazine but all the product in the world couldn't hold it.

Oh yes - the Farrah Fawcett flick

I had one of those gas powered styling wands - remember those?

Ah yes I had one and foam covered plug in heated rollers but even used over night in combination with half a can of mouse and a tin.of hair spray my hair was ramrod straight seconds after taking them out.

Serenster · 08/07/2025 19:33

Just seen the post about the Cartier tiara - maybe it’s Cartier for Kate and the Kokoshnik for Camilla? Or Anne could want her aquamarine tiara / the Duchess of Gloucester her Indian tiara (both of which are at the V&A currently). Time will tell…

Lunde · 08/07/2025 19:36

Looking forward to a tiara event!

Hope that Madame Macron's outfits weren't in the car that drove off with the boot open!

Exactly. As soon as I saw the cut of the jacket with the pockets which stand slightly away from the body I thought ‘Mary wore that in Paris’. It was three months ago at a state visit to France / the Macrons. It’s also very similar to the Self Portrait outfit.

Of the two Dior outfits I prefer Kate’s as her skirt hangs well and is more classic New Look. Mary had the better idea to have a skirt in the same fabric but the A-line shape collapses a bit. She also gives off a mature bride look as it is all cream. But Mary wearing it first at an event with the same people means Kate seems a bit unoriginal. I wonder if she ordered it before or after Mary appeared in it?

Prediction - Mme Macron in red, the Queen in white and Kate in blue (Packham). Flag colours all the way!

Anyone seen any photos of the dinner yet. I’m only here for the outfits and tiaras!

Unless it's the fabulous off the shoulder green dress she wore a couple of years ago, my favourite ever Catherine evening outfit.

Yep. Don’t think she’s worn it since
