Just had time to have a good look at Kate's outfit today. Love it! It works beautifully imho.
She looks very 'princessy' and I mean that in a good way!
People (me) would be disappointed if she rocked up in total plain and boring, so I think this strikes a good balance.

I love Kate's look today! The Dior new look is so beautiful and I really hope she wears more Dior now that Jonathan Anderson is in charge.

I thought “oh bleurgh - a variation on fucking brown again” but actually I think the jacket is beautifully cut and the tulle on the skirt is lush. Muted colour but very professionally royal. Nice diplomatic dressing again.

I would be quite up for a hair chop though but she’ll get round to it one day I expect.

I love that look, loads of the insta over 50s fashion I follow has a chiffon/tulle skirt and more structured top.
I fear I would look ridiculous but Kate looks good, not delighted about the colour but perhaps understated to not clash or compete with the Queen?

I have no option on her hair thankfully. Mine is a poker straight short bob as dull as dishwater

Oh that's odd, I was sure I'd already seen her wearing it. But I have been known to misremember.

Is it? I didn't read it. I posted it for the pictures, to illustrate the number of women in the public sphere older than Catherine on whom hair as long as Catherine's looks good and not "childish" as the poster suggested. I don't think anyone of any age needs to be told what length their hair needs to be.

Oooh I wasn’t sure if she would definitely attend! I saw on insta a Cartier tiara from the royal collection on loan to the V&A has been temporarily removed presumably for Camilla tonight.

She wore the late Queen’s, but she hasn’t been to a state banquet since 2023. I don’t think anyone had Charles’ family order then, apart from maybe Camilla 🤷‍♀️

I live the idea of the Dior suit better than the execution, I think. I don’t think the blush colour really suited Kate that well, and felt the sparkley skirt was too close to the Self Portrait silhouette she has been wearing lately. I would have liked to have seen the jacket with a tailored A-line skirt in the same fabric as the coat (or in black!) but acknowledge that would have been too close to Mary’s recent outfit in a similar situation.

I saw on instagram that Alexandra’s diamond kokoshnik tiara has been removed from the display at Buckingham Palace, so we could well be seeing it on Camilla tonight!
