I am 52 never been to an outside gig before - I have managed to get Oasis tickets! ( not even that bothered about seeing them ) but my kids want to go.

What do I wear?? where do I start?

I am 52, size 16, I am so far out of my comfort zone its untrue!

There’s an oasis/adidas pop up shop in town, all the overpriced oasis themed adidas gear you could possibly want

I am certainly not going there haha, my son went last week £70 for a bloody jumper!

Seems like you have definitely maybe got the masterplan so you can roll with it on the day.

Have a lovely time.

T shirt, hoody (tied round your waist if hot), waterproof poncho or cagoule type thing, bucket hat. That's your top half sorted.
Cross body bag for a few bits.
Stand near the back to avoid the piss pints. Or just accept it and get nearer the front for the atmosphere.
Enjoy.

GellerYeller · 26/06/2025 23:01

I do layers; jeans/ denim shorts(back pockets - useful for rain ponchos), hoody, tied round waist if necessary, then a vest, then a utility shirt/jacket(more pockets, good for stashing a cereal bar, power bank/leads and maybe sweets). I’ve got a linen shirt that’s similar which went round my waist at a gig last week when the weather was hot. Car keys went in the pockets.
Cross body bag for phone, cards and anything else that will fit.
If I buy merch, I end up wearing it 😂
Have a blast OP.

I’ve just got back from an outdoor concert!
I dressed for comfort ie jeans, black trainers and hoody. Fortunately I took two clear ponchos in my bag as it poured down from 8 o’clock. Lots of people had done the same.

Most of the women looked fantastic and when I got there and it was still light and dry I felt a bit underdressed. When it got dark and rained it didn’t matter!

There were lots of DM sandals and shorts. Some women were in dresses. Some were striking in strappy tops and loose jeans. Lots of glam hair and make up too. Many of them were stunning but casual and cool.

She said she went to an outdoor concert, not Oasis.

Ah, I see now. Apologies, will be different to Oasis then

ZiggyPlaysGuitarrr · 27/06/2025 02:02

Don't overthink it. I go to loads of gigs, various genres. There are nearly always all ages and a range of styles but the majority are very casual. Jeans, t-shirt, hoodie (round waist if warm), comfy shoes (flat boots, trainers or sandals), light waterproof if rain forecast. Or I'll wear a casual dress if it's very warm.

Maddy70 · 27/06/2025 02:05

Get yourself some travel Johns wear a skirt. The toilets are horrific. I'm going too. You'll have a great time. Edit .. I'm older than you don't overthink this

Because some men are absolute animals (I’m sure women can piss in bottles too but the logistics of doing this in a crowd are so much less likely)

I am assuming they get a beer and go find somewhere to stand to watch the band then realise they need to toilet and can’t be bothered going to queue and also losing place in crowd. Sound gross. I have never experienced it myself thank goodness

SomethingFun · 27/06/2025 12:08

I have seen oasis at Heaton park before and I’m going this time and unless you’re down the front no one is going to be throwing pints of piss at you.

I’ll be wearing sports leggings, a T-shirt and a waterproof thin coat. If it’s particularly cold I’ll take a hoody as well. I’ll be wearing trainers or boots if it’s muddy. In my pockets of my coat will be some tissues, hand santitizer, lip balm and inhaler. In my leggings pocket I will have my phone. You’re better off taking the bare minimum and wearing something you’ll be comfortable in than worrying about it. The luminous adidas x oasis bucket hats I’ve seen them flogging mean it’s hardly going to be a fashion parade 😁 Hope you have a great time

We saw Noel in an arena and the view from the seats was a constant volley of plastic pint pots being lobbed. Men, usually, who can’t be arsed to go to the loo or lose their spot in the crowd.
By the time we left it was just a parade of mostly middle aged blokes in urine sodden Stone Island parkas.

That is unspeakably grim. I wonder if they'd be happy for their children to see them doing that (and if they have seen them, what an appalling example to set!)

A hat to protect yourself from all the pints of piss being flung around.

Yes get ready for a bit of warm stuff being flung about.

Icebreaker911 · 29/06/2025 20:05

I'm 76 & went to see the Last Dinner Party in Liverpool. Just wear casual stuff - jeans/top & you'll fit in 🤗

It won’t be like that at Oasis.

DontTouchRoach · 29/06/2025 20:17

Oh and I strongly doubt you’ll get piss thrown on you unless you go right to the front.
