I am 52 never been to an outside gig before - I have managed to get Oasis tickets! ( not even that bothered about seeing them ) but my kids want to go.

What do I wear?? where do I start?

I am 52, size 16, I am so far out of my comfort zone its untrue!

@yeesh @MorrisZapp @Fibrous @BettyEagleton I'm sooo glad I've been going to different gigs!!!

@Lanzarotelady Try not to overthink it - just go for comfort and weather sensible attire. You'll be fine and have a great time.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 26/06/2025 15:00

Not the dry robe. Everything else you’ve suggested sounds fine.

I saw Liam in Cardiff a couple of years ago and no one was throwing pints of piss, however we weren’t near the front. I would imagine in the seats it’s less prolific. I do expect plenty of coked up middle aged men though.

This is Heaton PArk, there are no seats!

Op I am in the same position. I saw oasis a few times when I was younger but always at small venues (before they were super famous) and I have never been to a proper big stadium concert. And I am starting to feel a bit panicky that I don’t know what to expect

CoastalCalm · 26/06/2025 15:09

Just buy as cheap poncho or take a pac a mac - a full on dry robe will be overkill and very cumbersome to tie round you before it’s actually needed. Jeans t shirt comfy flat shoes and some sort of waterproof

Glad its not just me

I have no idea what to expect! I don't want to be covered in urine, I really don't!

Stand near the back / as far out of the way as possible!

Starlight1984 · 26/06/2025 15:53

We went to an all day event a few weeks ago and I wore a plain t-shirt, denim "boyfriend" shorts and my Adidas Sambas and tied a thin jacket round my waist.

I would say shorts are fine no matter what the weather as even if it's raining, it's unlikely to be freezing cold.

Trainers or chunky sandals (nothing flimsy or that could come off easily).

A comfy / loose t-shirt.

Something lightweight to throw on over your t-shirt if it's cold / rains.

Cross body bag (and make sure to pack tissues and wipes for the portaloos!)

minnienono · 26/06/2025 15:56

Wear weather appropriate clothing it’s comfortable to stand in - jeans, shorts or skirt plus t shirt or top, or a dress if warm maybe. Most comfortable shoes you have that can deal with being on grass. Take a carrier bag folded up so you have something to sit on, lots of waiting about.

i went to pulp last week and wore a dress and dr martens but was indoors

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/06/2025 16:03

I am old and saw Oasis at Loch Lomond back in the mists of time. I have a weird photographic memory and can tell you I wore a long denim skirt, Adidas trainers, a short sleeved top (baby tee from Benetton with eyes on it) and a vintage Adidas tracksuit zip top. Had a little black backpack type bag with me with a cagoule thing in it.

Saw Pulp at the O2 the other week and wore an orange Cos dress, Adidas trainers, and a crossbody leopard print bag.

Neither gig had piss being chucked around as far as I'm aware.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/06/2025 16:04

Oh, I am also 52, so same age, OP!

CountryQueen · 26/06/2025 16:09

Oasis concerts are notorious for the piss. Just because some of the more innocent tell you otherwise, don’t believe it. My mate got covered and she’s so naive she thought it was cider. Bless her.

Do not wear fucking saltwater sandals 🤣. Put the bloody dry robe back in the cupboard. Get your docs or trainers on with shorts, a tshirt, a big black poncho from Amazon (not the sweaty carrier bag type) and a hat. Hoodie round your waist if you like but you won’t be cold.

Cross body or bumbag with sunglasses, phone, wipes, tissues, powerbank and lead.

sciaticafanatica · 26/06/2025 16:28

These people saying they have never been to a gig with piss being thrown, what do you think is in the plastic pint pots that are chucked in the air ??
because it ain’t booze 🤣🤣🤣

Lanzarotelady · 26/06/2025 13:52

We're pre booked on a coach to take us back to Blackburn

You’ll still be hanging around for a very long time!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 26/06/2025 16:42

My first experience of the sky filled with bottles of piss was Stereophonics at Castle Donnington circa. 2000

Men can be fucking grim 😳

Wolmando · 26/06/2025 16:46

Castle Donington was also notorious for the piss. Maybe stand near the back OP, hopefully it will be ok there

genesis92 · 26/06/2025 17:14

I love to hear how people aren’t really bothered about going to see Oasis. There are many of us who would have done anything to have got a ticket (bar pay a crazy amount)

It was my son who got in the ballot, we got our tickets the night before, he applied and got tickets.

Have an amazing time OP. Just enjoy. Ignore the piss comments. It will be happening, but stand a bit further back and to the sides and you'll be fine. I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric (geddit?!)

Why ignore them?! Surely being prepared is better than ignoring it?

cheesychipsontheoche · 26/06/2025 18:30

Bucket hat, all the adidas you own and a cagoule. Sorted.

stay near the back and you’ll be fine, flying pint glass wise. The toilets will be grim though and you will have a lot of walking and waiting around.

There’s an oasis/adidas pop up shop in town, all the overpriced oasis themed adidas gear you could possibly want

ruethewhirl · 26/06/2025 18:57

Fibrous · 26/06/2025 13:46

A hat to protect yourself from all the pints of piss being flung around.

God, is this really a thing?? I keep hearing about it so I guess it must be. So gross! (in my 50s, don’t really do gigs, 80s festivals more my speed 😄)
