Lanzarotelady · 26/06/2025 13:39

I am 52 never been to an outside gig before - I have managed to get Oasis tickets! ( not even that bothered about seeing them ) but my kids want to go.

What do I wear?? where do I start?

I am 52, size 16, I am so far out of my comfort zone its untrue!

The thing to remember at concert is that absolutely nobody is looking at you and it doesn't matter even a teeny bit what you're wearing. I'm going to Oasis at Wembley and I'll be in jeans, a t-shirt and Birkenstocks probably!

If you're going to Heaton Park, I'd wear similar but more sturdy shoes, and obvs a coat/rain gear/sun cream etc depending on the weather!

Lanzarotelady · 26/06/2025 13:44

Yes sorry I totally get no one person will be looking at me.

Not going to make any decisions until I know the weather, but was thinking jeans, walking boots and a dry robe?

That type of outfit will be perfect!

Fibrous · 26/06/2025 13:46

A hat to protect yourself from all the pints of piss being flung around.

CountryQueen · 26/06/2025 13:46

I’d be worried a dry robe would encourage the Shiiiiiiiine mob to aim their pots of piss in my direction

Jeans, Docs, T shirt, bucket hat. Spare tshirt and bucket hat for when you get covered in urine 🤢

MiddleAgedDread · 26/06/2025 13:47

Something warm and comfy, particularly if you're standing. I wouldn't wear walking boots unless it was forecast to be very very wet.

Snap 😂

LettingyougoMovingOn · 26/06/2025 13:47

Definitely not Birkenstocks. You need trainers for dancing.
The crowd will be dressing for the 90s - sambas/ gazelles, bucket hats, jeans/ cargoes and fitted/ band/ Adidas tees.
You don't have to match that but that will give you an idea of the vibe.
Don't forget the poncho for the pints of piss (only half joking!)

firstdayworries · 26/06/2025 13:49

Definitely comfy clothes! I’ll going and will be in a baggy tshirt, shorts and trainers. With compulsory bucket hat and a rain Mac in my bag! If you’re down amongst the crowd it gets very, very hot. Enjoy the gig!

I live by Heaton Park - definitely something warm if it isn't forecast to be hot! Not sure how you are planning to get away afterwards, but if using public transport you could have quite a wait and there's nothing worse than being cold!
Also something you don't mind getting dirty as we've had a lot of rain so it could get muddy.

We're pre booked on a coach to take us back to Blackburn

Not the dry robe 🙈😂

AngelsWithSilverWings · 26/06/2025 13:52

I'm 55 and go to lots of gigs.

In summer at gigs I wear a loose linen dress and my saltwater boardwalk sandals as they are so comfortable.

I take a denim jacket which I can stuff into a small back pack for the journey home or if rain is forecast I take my Seasalt rain mac.

There is no one "look" or style to aim for. Comfort is key. There will be teenagers there and over 60's. Anything goes really.

I didn't manage to get Oasis tickets but my 19 year old DS did and he can't wait. Have fun!

Yeah I thought this too with the Dry Robe. I’d feel like I was wearing a target on my back. A waterproof or pack a mac would be a good alternative.

gingercat02 · 26/06/2025 13:54

Jeans t shirt trainers, hoodie if it's cold/damp.
Not a dry robe, you will roast. If it rains you get wet!
I'm very jealous and sad that you're not bothered 😕

Duckies · 26/06/2025 13:56

Cannot believe I am the first to say a cagoule?

And a bucket hat for good measure.

Ready for all weathers!

I am looking forward to it, I know it will be a once in a lifetime experience, I am just so far out of my comfort zone its untrue.

If it's anything like the stone roses gig at heaton park, I am not joking!

PiriPiriMenopause · 26/06/2025 13:58

Wear absolutely nothing you don’t mind getting covered in piss, comfiest oldest trainers and a decent sports bra.

OnTheBoardwalk · 26/06/2025 13:59

Are you able to leave anything on the coach? Something for a quick change if needed?

PiriPiriMenopause · 26/06/2025 14:00

Oh and buy a plastic disposable poncho!
