In search of comfortable sandals for a city break.

Last resort will be softbed birkenstocks as I've had them before but wanted something different this time round.

Size 4 normal width feet. Any suggestions please?

Which air & grace sandals are people buying? I love them all 😍

The ones I have (moli) aren’t made anymore but I have these in my basket as they get great reviews-but honestly all their shoes/trainers are comfortable

Have a look at next kids……. I just bought a pair. Still to be tested for a full days wear but very comfy so far. Go up to size 7 wide fitting. Leather and half the price of adult.

Isometimeswonder · 26/06/2025 07:01

I like Rieker. Some are a bit old fashioned, but others are more "on trend".
It's and very comfy

Stowickthevast · 26/06/2025 07:33

I have the DM ones. the back strap needs a bit of breaking in but the soles are very comfy.

I've also got some White Sandals for Women - Spring/Summer collection - Camper United Kingdom www.camper.com/en_GB/women/shoes/oruga/camper-oruga-K200157-056?_gl=11ft1hzf_upMQ.._gs*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAjwvO7CBhAqEiwA9q2YJc-JBpF3q3ZhEzFTO0Ustnj_6fSEYfIzfp9C04XkwhsZ3CTluXwyKxoCykQQAvD_BwE Camper ones which are really comfy.

These are great! I wear these when out walking and save my Birkenstocks for when I’m not walking so much

I have a few pairs of Karrimor walking sandals and love them so much.

Agree. I have tge beige and black /blue. So comfy, like slippers!

Mollysocks · 26/06/2025 10:07

Whoever recommended Air and Grace I hate you, I now have a really expensive wish list for sandals and bags! 😫😂

Themaghag · 26/06/2025 11:23

I've just bought these, because I wanted something brown that I could wear with both trousers and dresses and I liked the look of them. However, it turns out that they are the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned! They feel like walking on air and the leather straps are butter-soft.

After hurting my feet in trainers (they were leather and my feet swelled, as they were solid my feet got crushed still have blackened toenails 9 months later). I now have teva’s and they are magical for walking miles and miles.

wibdib · 26/06/2025 11:58

Another vote for Teva sandals - I’ve had them for many years (after being recommended them on Mumsnet a long time ago! 😁)!

My favourites are the Tirra style - adjustable and much daintier than many walking sandals. They also are able to cope with water which is handy in case you get caught in the rain. I’ve had several pairs and once you’ve set the sandal up to be right for your foot that’s it - you can just wear them - I’ve never had any blisters or sore patches from them rubbing my feet

Letshavetea1 · 26/06/2025 13:27

Have a look at Geox. Trendy, but comfortable.

do you wear them with bare feet? I often find I get blisters when no socks worn in hot places.

Gosh I'm super fussy! I'm mid 30s btw so was hoping for something mildly trendy, if there is such thing for a comfortable shoe!

I think your problem is that the trend at the moment is chunky rather than dainty!!

I've just ordered some Next gladiator sandals from Vinted that claim to be comfortable (and wide fit for my hobbit feet).

Some of the Birkenstock- style cork footbed sandals are coming with more delicate, complicated straps this season though.

minipie · 26/06/2025 13:51

Tevas here too. Mine have the wider canvas straps rather than the thinner leather ones - I find the thicker canvas straps more comfortable as they stretch more with your foot than leather/pleather and spread the pressure more than thinner straps. Also they can go in the washing machine when if they get sweaty. Though the leather ones do look more elegant admittedly.

NellyWest · 26/06/2025 15:26

I’m about to attempt Dubrovnik in my new teva voya infinity sandals!

Perfectlystill · 26/06/2025 15:54

Love the Air and Grace! Black or metallic - I can't decide!

Waterbaby41 · 26/06/2025 16:09

These Skechers Desert Kiss sandals are amazing!

I know they are grannyish but I wear Hotter Easy sandals, you can walk for miles in them. But they are definitely not dainty ;)

Plump82 · 26/06/2025 16:46

NigelAdjacent · 25/06/2025 20:56

Teva aren’t delicate or dainty but they’re literally the comfiest sandals I’ve ever had. I keep trying to replace them after 4 years of extensive wear (in a hot country, so 5-6 months of daily wear) but nothing I try to replace them with goes the distance.

Teva slim are.

I 100% agree and recommend Tevas. They're life changing for me as I can now go on holiday, walk all day and never have sore feet. I've not had one blister, or sore balls of feet, anything really since buying these. I have 8 pairs and feel it's a bit of an addiction!!

Annielou67 · 26/06/2025 17:14

I would vote for Merrell walking sandals. Not pretty but I have just brought a new pair for schlepping around Rome and Pompeii. Extremely comfortable, no blisters or sore feet. I love them.
