Saw the first post today releasing contents and price so have started this thread. Let the spreadsheets commence.

Revolution Beauty £50 beautyadventcalendar.net/revolution-advent-calendar-2025/ https://www.instagram.com/p/DLQEY5ao22M

I’ve called it S&B as there’s usually discussion of nice food, socks, jewellery and other item ACs as well.

I am so happy this group exists because who else could I talk to about spending almost £1k on beauty advents lol

I'm hoping this is going to be a good year if Liberty is anything to go by.

@IDontHateRainbows Yes it was me who saw the fisticuffs at Harrods. There were huge queues outside every door half an hour before opening and a near stampede when the doors opened. When I got to the area where they’d put the calendars out, the stock they’d put out had mostly gone and there were two women rolling around on the floor screaming and grabbing a fragrance calendar and each other’s hair 😆😆😆.

Oh my lord I wasn't sure how much the story had been beefed up but you were an eye witness!
A lot of the harrods calendars appeared on ebay at inflated prices although these came down after Christmas and I got a couple then.

So if I don't get one in the autumn I'll be getting one after Christmas no doubt.

Embarrassed to admit I spent more than this last year- I bought all the big players (and some little(r) ones too). 🙈

Exciting times!!!
For the past 3 years I’ve bought LF, M and S, Next and Boots MacMillan.
I’ve bought a fair few beauty boxes this year already so I may just buy one this year……or not!

Can anyone recommend a good perfume only AC?
I’d prefer a mixed brand one.

I had HN last year and am loving it but I'm not a perfumista so it's not a very informed opinion.

I'm not a big fan of the molecules no 2 but other than that, I like them all to varying degrees. I hated the Irish Leather initially but tried it a couple of times and now absolutely love it.

I also got 6 or 7 extra perfumes as two of the perfumes in the calendar were partially used and the woman who sold me it sent on a load she took from the main calendar and elsewhere so even though there was a problem with the calendar, the customer service was amazing and I would definitely recommend buying from them again.

OvaHere · 05/07/2025 17:10

@OchonAgusOchonOh I remember that from last year. It was brilliant CS from Harvey Nicks.

Yes. If the HN calendar is appealing this year I would seriously consider trekking up to Dublin again to get it. If I recall correctly they don't sell it online to Ireland.

Definitely won't need the perfume one though. I'm wearing perfume every day but definitely no where near half way through. I'd say I'll be good for another one in 2026.

Edited to add a shout out to Grüum for their CS too. They left it a bit late shipping the calendar and it arrived 5 or so days late and they refunded me for it. The calendar was also good.

Good CS makes such a difference.

Thanks for the heads up for liberty pre order, I've used BD credit and £10 loyalty .. (I bought a couple of lipsticks a couple of months ago, so it hasn't covered full price for me this year. ) I will be rigid about selling things I don't like/want on Vinted.
I am covetous of Diptyque, but that's a bit of a splurge...

OvaHere · 06/07/2025 13:12

What is everyone betting on being the next to release? I wonder if they will all release a bit earlier this year or will Liberty be out there on it's own for quite a while?

Hard to know but I would like a full release rather than teasers for any of them releasing.

Addictedtobeauty · 06/07/2025 14:37

I’ve been trying to trace back to last years releases but found the pre order release details has been replaced with actual release date so impossible. Last years thread should have some insight.

Addictedtobeauty · 06/07/2025 14:56

Last year was F&M with spoilers on socials around 18/7 and full contents on 7/8. Harrods fragrance was pre orders opened on 7/8 as well. Then a flurry of spoilers/info for others mid August. We probably have a bit of wait yet!

Another release. This time by Avant.

£99 value of £935

I have questions over the value as this seems to be a brand made for beauty subscription boxes. However some people do like some of the products from what I've seen.

It's a 12 day calendar and the products do mostly look to be full/larger sizes. from the picture.

I have no idea what this bit means

This year, for the first time ever, simply scan the front of the calendar with your phone to unlock an awe-inspiring augmented reality experience – and watch the wonders of nature, including a beautifully animated fairy harvesting ingredients, come vividly to life. Awaken your senses, elevate your skincare journey, and embrace the season in perfect harmony with the natural world. Let your beauty ritual blossom in time for Christmas with our most cherished formulas, for a truly magical festive season.

Last year was my first AC purchase and I made the decision very practically based on what I use for skincare and the value. In reality though I loved the make-up, especially the Lisa Eldridge liquid eye shadow and wore it everyday and the lipstick. I didn’t like all the oily serums as much as I thought I would, there’s skincare textures and smells I know I like using and testing new skincare wasn’t as enjoyable as I thought it would be. So if I get an AC this year it will definitely be more for the festive frivolity. I think I prefer going shopping and buying festive releases though. But I love the advent calendar chat here! So many good recommendations and reviews from people who know their stuff. I want to get the accessorize one for my kids, last year I tried to wait for it to go 50% like it did in 2023 but it sold out. So I’ll buy it full price I think.

A fragrance/body products calendar from a Scottish brand called Arran. I've not heard of them before and I don't recall it from last year but I might be wrong.

Arran products often pop up in hotels. I’m pretty sure they’ve done a calendar before but I may be confusing them with a similar brand.

Growlybear83 · 07/07/2025 23:14

I’ve seen the Arran calendars for the last couple of years. I mentioned this on one of the advent calendar threads and someone told me that they had bought this before and that it was a bit disappointing, with very small sizes. But I’ve not tried it myself.

That's a shame. It's not really my thing but did sound quite nice from the description.

MonkeyTennis34 · 08/07/2025 07:42

@OvaHere
I’ve had a couple of Avant products in beauty boxes.
Their rose face scrub is divine, probably the best scrub I’ve ever used.
I went to buy the full-size version but I think it was over £60!
I also have their primer which is a just meh and I got their face cream in this month’s LF box, not tried it yet.
I’ve joined the waitlist but not sure about the 12 days element.

Housewife2010 · 08/07/2025 08:51

Avant always seems a dodgy brand to me. It has a huge RRP, but I never read about their products. They just seem to exist to vastly boost the RRP of beauty boxes and advent calendars.
I tend to think of Dr Botanicals and Skin Chemists the same way; they always seem to be in TK Maxx reduced from a huge RRP, but does anyone ever buy them full price?

owlexpress · 08/07/2025 10:07

Arran Sense of Scotland (used to be Arran Aromatics) is a well-established brand and they've done calendars for years. I think the single-brand calendars do run the risk of feeling repetitive and like free samples, and you don't get the same value (e.g. spending £250 but the RRP is over 1k). But it's well-priced for what you get and is a good option if you're looking for a lower budget bath and body calendar. I can vouch for the quality.

QueefofSheena · 08/07/2025 16:34

I had an Arran AC in 2020. It wasn’t great. Hotel sized miniatures of soaps, shampoo and conditioner. It was around the price of two M&S calendars, so very poor value.

I’m thinking of making my Dsis a 12 day AC using various Lumene products from Boots £10 Tuesday. She likes the brand and it would be all full sized

newfriend05 · 08/07/2025 17:26

Signing up

OchonAgusOchonOh · 08/07/2025 17:50

I've had a couple of Arran products in various calendars/edits and I didn't rate any of the ones I've tried. If I recall correctly they were body lotion/shower gel.
