Saw the first post today releasing contents and price so have started this thread. Let the spreadsheets commence.

I’ve called it S&B as there’s usually discussion of nice food, socks, jewellery and other item ACs as well.

I had an Arran AC in 2020. It wasn’t great. Hotel sized miniatures of soaps, shampoo and conditioner. It was around the price of two M&S calendars, so very poor value.

I’m thinking of making my Dsis a 12 day AC using various Lumene products from Boots £10 Tuesday. She likes the brand and it would be all full sized

Yes, they have some fabulous Lumene bargains every £10 Tuesday. You could make a brilliant AC.

Hello, could anyone offer advice?

I signed up to the Beauty Drop with the intention of getting the calendar discount (and using my BD credit on it).
Didn't realise the BD had a minimum term (mine runs until September 25th).
Would I be pretty safe in waiting to order the calendar until September when I've got all the extra credit from my minimum subscription term? Not sure how early the calendars tend to sell out.

That must be a new thing as they never used to have a minimum term - I have stopped and started it again must have been a couple of years ago now though.

I don't reckon it will sell out before the end of September all this fanfare around early release/ /wait list etc is intended to create a buying frenzy particulary as they know they are competing with the other big boys eg harrods, harvey nicks etc.

I for one won't be getting this one and I usually get the Liberty boxes/bags/kits etc so that's one less person in the queue!

It was one of the last big names to sell out last year I think. The Liberty brands are a bit more niche than SpaceNK, Cult Beauty etc. that seem to go fast.

I would expect it to still be available in early Sept, although each year is different so there's never a guarantee.

Would you be absolutely gutted if it sold out before you max your BD credit? If so I would order sooner.

If it wouldn't be too disappointing and you'd buy a different calendar or use the BD on other things then maybe take the chance on it still being around through Sep.

Just spotted, Penhaligons 2024 calendar in the outlet shop for £250.

Growlybear83 · 12/07/2025 12:41

@DoubleraspberryOh dear. I’m sitting on my hands trying not to order this.

Doubleraspberry · 12/07/2025 12:54

Last year the 2023 calendar was quite a bit cheaper when I bought it so I wonder if it might be reduced a bit more? That’s probably worth some hand sitting for a bit! Although I know I was lucky to get another discount as they kindly applied one that shouldn’t have been used on it - I think the ‘full’ price of that one was £199?

Growlybear83 · 12/07/2025 12:56

Yes you’re right. I paid £198 for mine with free delivery from the Gunwharf Quay outlet. I think it was quite a bit later in the year when I bought mine. I will try to wait a bit longer 😆

Fedupandstressed · 17/07/2025 17:45

Which perfume/fragrance calendar was best last year? I’ve had Harrods twice on the trot now and feel they were both very samey.

Growlybear83 · 17/07/2025 17:50

While Harrods was amazing value, I agree each year is quite similar. In my opinion, the Harvey Nicks perfume calendar was much better. Of the single brands, over the last few years I’ve had Jo Malone, Jo Loves, Penhaligon’s, and Acqua di Parma, and they were all good in different ways, if you like their fragrances. I won’t be having Jo Malone or Jo Loves this year because there isn’t enough variation each year. I’ve got last year’s l’artisan Parfumeur put away for this year. Although I love Diptyque perfumes, their calendar usually has too many candles for my taste.

Doubleraspberry · 17/07/2025 17:51

I can't really do ouds and Harrods always seems to be heavy on them.

OvaHere · 17/07/2025 19:30

I didn't buy any fragrance calendars last year but I liked the selection from Harvey Nicks. I'm not sure about the Harrods one, depends what's in it, last years did seem very Oud. Only thing is I'm not sure how much time you have to ponder it if you want to get one - it seems like Harrods sells out in a couple of hours or less.

Pickled21 · 22/07/2025 01:00

The wait list for Fortnum and Mason is open on their Facebook page.

For the price the perfume shop one ( or could have been fragrance shop I find the brands indistinguishable) was unbeatable, £80 for 24 dab on style 5ml size bottles. I'm usually more into niche than designer/ high st but this one got me!

Can you link to this please as I can't find it. Thanks.

Arrearing50 · 22/07/2025 10:13

@Pickled21 ooh thanks off to sign up!

Doubleraspberry · 22/07/2025 13:05

Hmm. Not sure a mini candle and a pillow spray is going to drive up the wait list.

Arrearing50 · 22/07/2025 13:21

That spiced candle is really nice though - I agree re pillow spray, not sure why that is a sneak peak but the rest is solid - cult51 night is lovely, I do like AA, the Olverum face oil is something I’d like to have…but will have to wait and see how many DODs there are…

MidnightMeltdown · 22/07/2025 13:33

Oh advent calendars! Is it that time already?! I still have loads of stuff from last year 🙈

I really shouldn’t buy any, but I’ve made it through the first 6 months of the year without buying a single beauty product, so I might treat myself!

MidnightMeltdown · 22/07/2025 13:56

I might get Liberty this year as I have a £120 voucher to use before the end of January and I think it looks pretty good. Finally they seem to be listening and not wasting doors on mini candles! 🙏. Not very interested in hair care, but that seems to be relatively low value, and the bulk is skin are and perfume which I like.

From what I’ve seen of F&M, I don’t think that will be for me this year.

Looking forward to seeing Space NK as that has been my favourite for the past couple of years.

EachandEveryone · 22/07/2025 14:33

I love the Space Nk one most of the time. At least they have generous sizing. This year I’m gifting it to my sister. I have £200 in credit for Liberty so I will have that one. I wish we could buy it soon as it’s hard seeing that credit I want to get my hands on it.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 22/07/2025 15:02

Sorry to ask again but I cannot for the life of me find the wait list for Fortnum and Mason. Can anyone link for me please?
