I am not sure about this year, apart from HN fragrance. I kept very little from last year's fragrance advent apart from Penhaligons witch was previous year. I don't like oud and tobacco and you/molecule/i don't know what type and there was so much of that!

I will buy HN fragrance if they have one again, that was my favourite

The ideal calendar for me would be skincare focused, but with some body care (I always appreciate shower gel/soap/body lotion) and a bit of makeup. Makeup can be so tricky to please everyone, which is why we always end up with black eyeliners but I've had some lovely makeup from calendars over the years that I would never normally have tried, like the bronze Stila eyeliner from M&S a few years ago.
I like a little bit of perfume but not too much and the main thing for me is no haircare. I do Curly Girl method and so I'm fussy about what I use on my hair (no silicone, no SLS etc) and most often hair products in calendars just aren't suitable. More than about 4 in a calendar will stop me buying it, unless the rest of the calendar is perfect.
I really enjoyed the H&B calendar last year - I thought it was really well curated so we got a nice mix of products and everything got used. It's cracking value too.

There's a 10ml MZ Skin one. It's my main disappointment with Liberty this year. It feels like it's lacking a good size moisturiser. I think last year there was a full size jar of Skin Rocks.

For me I am looking for new brands . Last year I discovered Curel and also a great all in one SPF primer from “Sculpted by Aimee” in the LIB advent and I only bought this advent because it was cheap on TikTok and to use for stocking fillers so I am hoping for more variety than the usual REN ready steady glow, Exfolikate , Floral street/Escentric Molecules perfume this year.
I always like the idea of a face mask but just don’t use them ditto for exfoliants so they are DODs for me
Also any serum that dosent obviously fit my routine ie is not Vitamin C or HA serum , I love the idea of them but it just never gets used because I can’t seem to fit it in
I love a new make up brand as never buy it for myself but I am at the stage where how many lipsticks are too many! I plough through lip glosses though so a Laneige lip mask in any flavour but chocolate would be nice

@OvaHere yes it was a Skin Rocks moisturiser in last years Liberty.
I gave mine away as I'm happy with what I use (Elemis) & the Skin Rocks moisturiser just looked so basic from the description.
However if it had been a different brand to Skin Rocks say Votary, Zelens, Murad etc then I would have tried it.

@Puravida23 im on holiday and I’ve bought 5(!) travel sized face masks, 3 hair masks - and I don’t even think this has been the full amount of them I’ve accumulated this year!

Broadly I’m hoping f&m has fewer naff items than last years as they usually have a very solid range of bath and skin things I like.

I’m getting f & m with my vouchers and I will buy SpaceNK for my sister as I feel F&M is too niche for her.

Fingers crossed for no scrunchies!!! Agree it’s a bit niche. I’m a woman of a certain age!

I’m another one who’d prefer lots of skincare and little or no make up, though I don’t mind mascara or lip gloss/balm. A K-beauty skincare one with no make up would be great. Love all the full size skincare they put in the Yessyle and Stylevana calendars, but I can do without the baby pink blush and glitter eyeshadows.

Some body care stuff, perfumes and a candle also welcome. Absolutely no clips, combs, mirrors, face rollers, etc!

They can't win really. I like watching Alexandria Ryan's AC series on Youtube but she gets very cross if it's all skincare and no make up. 😁

agree re Fortnums filler items - they were more rubbish than elasticizer.

You're right. They can't win. It's impossible to satisfy everyone with one product.

That said, I do think there is definitely a market for a make-up free calendar. H&B doesn't have make-up in it and is extremely popular so I would expect a higher price bracket one like CB or SpaceNK would also sell well.

Snap! I can't wear perfume due to allergies and make up you didn't individually chose is so tricky - although M&S last year had some useful items for me.

I don't really know any K beauty brands, can anyone comment on previous K beauty calendars by name?

@CinnamonCinnabar Stylevana, Yesstyle and Stylekorean have done calendars before. Maybe Olive Young too.

They all typically have a mix of skincare and make up, less body care and hair stuff (from what I remember). Pretty much everything seems to be full size and they are good at including popular brands like Beauty of Joseon, Anua, Torriden, etc. Like a PP said, they sell out very fast though.

• I love the fragrances – an F&M flora one and Vilhelm Peony Couture are two I have RPd multiple times; also Le Labo Thé Matcha
• I had Aurelia night oil in an AC years ago and love that
• In an F&M one there was a £100 pot of 3Lab WW day cream which genuinely was so so gorgeous and if I was rich I would RP haha
• I have had lots of nice Sunday Riley eg CEO Vit C serum
• Also loved the Lumene Vit C products one year (in a Lumene AC)
• A wonderful Vic B lippy in Cult Beauty a few years ago
• Gorge bath oil in Liberty a couple of years ago
• Lovely lovely makeup bag in the same F&M one
• Wonderful face mask by Zelens that felt great

In general I like several fragrances, some bath stuff, a really top-end moisturiser and serum, more skincare like face mask or two, hardware like a little mirror or a makeup bag (controversial I know), some makeup but NOT a black eyeliner or nail polish – so a lipstick, lip oil, mascara always useful, tinted moisturiser. Victoria Beckham eyeliner would be a great addition! Not that fussed about haircare.

For the past 3 years I’ve bought LF, M and S, Next and Boots MacMillan.
I’ve bought a fair few beauty boxes this year already so I may just buy one this year……or not!

Can anyone recommend a good perfume only AC?
I’d prefer a mixed brand one.

I had Harrods, Harvey N and Space NK perfume ones, neither of them were 24 days though. Also Flannels perfume cracker was fantastic value

I had all the perfume calendars last year as my modus operandi is to pick out the ones o like and ebay the rest.
I would rate the HN and the Harrods. Harrods sold out v quickly and I remember news of a handbags at dawn style fight in store! Amusing to think of harrods ladies fighting over a box of perfumes.

I did like the space nk one but not all of them, they tend to go for trendy young brands like dedcool and malin and goetz. So that would be a third choice.

Anything with Byredo I usually like and fell in love with a couple of byredo perfumes last year from the boxes.

I’ve had Harrods and Harvey Nicks 12 day perfume calendars and the flannels cracker, and Jo Malone, Jo Loves, Penhaligon’s, and acqu di Parma 25 day calendars. Jo Malone and Jo Loves are great if you haven’t got many of their fragrances already. I would love to get Diptyque but it usually has too many candles for me. If you don’t mind last year’s calendar, I’ve got last year’s Artisan Parfumeur calendar tucked away, which I got half price in the sale earlier in the year; I got my Penhaligon’s 2023 calendar for half price about this time last year, and a couple of years ago TK Maxx had the Acqua di Parma calendar reduced to £90.

Ive think possibly my favourite of all has been Harvey Nicks because both years Ive had it, it’s been full of fragrances I’ve never tried before.

@IDontHateRainbows Yes it was me who saw the fisticuffs at Harrods. There were huge queues outside every door half an hour before opening and a near stampede when the doors opened. When I got to the area where they’d put the calendars out, the stock they’d put out had mostly gone and there were two women rolling around on the floor screaming and grabbing a fragrance calendar and each other’s hair 😆😆😆.

I recently discovered Portrait of a Lady so think I’d prefer an AC with something along those lines.
